One of my cats is deaf, when I’m playing she touches the piano and clearly she hears and feels the vibrations through her paws, she loves it. Same with the guitar she will sit in my lap with both paws pressed against the body of the guitar and closes her eyes. My dog and other cat love the piano as well pretty cool.

This brings back memories in my early 20's I would practice hours at a time & my feline friend would lay on the deck of the piano the whole time-you wouldn't see him & as soon as I would start playing: there he appeared out of nowhere!! Bach Fugue, Chopin, Debussy, Pop & even originals I wrote, my cat companion was there as I braved my way through some of these most challenging pieces of music. On some level he gave me strength to persevere. It amazed me how animals could appreciate music as he would purr for long periods of time & at times when I wasn't playing he would walk back & forth on the keyboard as if he was trying to play the instrument himself. I had a rather pretentious music instructor try and claim music was not, in fact, a universal language. She would bring up examples from obscure tribes in jungles using drums as a communication method not to listen to and I'd laugh and say "okay....you DO know we used to, and still do in some cases, do the same thing in the military? Drummers were the long distance messengers. But that aside, they use music in their ritual dances and its kinda obvious the emotions they invoke." So she'll try using some other example. She really wanted to believe music to be a purely western concept.

Now I'm already listening to the Meowssage 2 and again I have to cry heartily because this melody, no matter 1 or 2, touches me so much and deeply in my heart. This is one of the best piano players I've ever heard. His style is very unique. He knows how to tickle those ivories from very gentle and slow to a very stepped up game filled with melodies and strong accents. There are only a handful of piano players that I absolutely love and this guy is one of them. There is so much feeling into the way he plays. Thank you for such a beautiful piece. Basically, my husband showed me the video for the cat, because we love cats (we have 3 !). But actually I fell in love with this song and after over a month of hard work, I'm finally playing it ! I was able to inaugurate my new piano with this piece and I was very happy ! LOL, this reminds me of when I was a kid. My parents have a baby grand piano and I would practice playing. Well, we always kept the lid open and one day, I sat down to begin practicing when I noticed that there were some heavily dampened notes. Apparently my cat had climbed inside of the piano.
