How to Protect Your KZbin Account from Hackers! Warning! ⚠ There Are KZbin Email Scams Stealing KZbin Accounts. ⚠ These KZbin Hackers are using internet scams via email pretending to be KZbin and Google. They are also posing as Brands to get access to your channel!
If You Want to Protect Your KZbin Channel From Internet Scams you need to do the following things to keep your KZbin Channel Safe:
- Update the email address in your ABOUT SECTION to be a business email NOT tied to your KZbin account and Google Adsense Account. Avoid phishing scams!
- Use Two Factor Authentication on KZbin/Google and All your Social Media Accounts.
- Use your KZbin/Google Account EXCLUSIVELY for KZbin and don't give it to anyone publicly going forward.
- DONOT use your KZbin/Gmail Account for any other social media or any email correspondence. This his how they get you with phishing scams.
- DONOT use 3rd Party Apps that are NOT KZbin Certified.
- UPDATE Your KZbin/Google Password and make it complex. Consider using a password app of some kind.
-AVOID saving your password in your browser if possible.
- Have your own EMAIL LIST, I recommend using ConvertKit

Great info Roberto! Having multiple emails is key. Keep everything separate and no one should know your gmail associated with your youtube or adsense account. I switched over from sharing my business email publicly to only using a contact form on my website. This way if someone wants to contact me they can't just send me a email. It's helped eliminate a ton of the phishing scams.

Hey Roberto, huge fan first of all! But also, the first email I got about this gave me that "roller coaster stomach" feeling. I luckily did not click anything and checked out my adsense and my channel to see if I had any alerts. I did not see anything there so I figured it was a scam. I have received a ton of these since then and was so happy to see you address the issue. I could have easily fallen into this trap had I not been savvy enough to question the email. (not bragging but I have been interneting for a while haha) One thing I did not think of for whatever reason was changing my email. It is so simple but something I never thought of doing. I'm glad that this issue is getting so much coverage now. This happened to my channel back in June. Whoever stole my account deleted almost all of my videos and deleted all of my info. I was beyond lucky to get my account back with all of my videos after 2 weeks of dealing with KZbin's support...it was a nightmare. Please, be careful, everyone.

I highly appreciate it… I received 2 of those emails last month (Which I didn’t really care, but just read them..) However, I received another one yesterday, and noticed that the pattern of these emails were similar, (always with a link to click on) and that’s how I came to the conclusion that there’s something fishy about them. The first thing I did was to come on KZbin and search videos about potential scams faced by content creators here on KZbin, and luckily your video was the first one to pop out… Thanks again. Just a bit disappointed that the platform KZbin itself doesn’t warn content creators about these issues…

From personal experience and knowing channels up to the 300k range personally who were victims, I’d also recommend to avoid “Brand Deal/Sponsorship” emails who have gmail addresses. Makes zero sense how A company can afford to pay hundreds to thousands but can not spend 20-30 dollars on A business domain. Also the most popular email subject currently is “KZbin Channel Notification”. Two have suffered from this and I’ve received one myself. Using A email account tied to maybe A website (Squarespace) etc will also throw A layer of protection since you’re talking through A website rather then A account that can be tied in some way to your channel as well. Stay safe people.

Thank you for sharing this Roberto! There is one KZbinr I know of that fell for this. Her channel name is Ircha Gaming and I was subscribed to her for a few years. About a month ago or so, I remember seeing my subscriptions feed flooded with these weird Japanese live streams. Luckily, she did get her channel back and then explained that it was an email scam. It’s sad to think that there are people like this out there. Videos like these definitely are helpful though! 💯👏🏻

good video Roberto I already got multiple scam emails, but because it's a separate email account for sponsorship deals it's easier to filter them out (as Roberto said) Extra tips: -use different passwords for every (social media) site -switch off automatic image loading in your email program, the scammer can see that you opened the email, so he knows the email is active to send more spam -never click on a link in an email, the more scary the email is, the more likely it's fraud

At 1:13 you make reference to "the gmail account associated with your KZbin account and Google adsense." It seems to me that using gmail would make your account(s) highly vulnerable to a hacker attack. I have several KZbin channels and Google accounts, and NONE of them are connected to a gmail account. Perhaps being connected to a gmail account is only for newer KZbin channels. Almost all of my KZbin channels are over 10 years old, and I have NEVER been forced to create or even use a gmail account for any of them. I like your videos. You have good stuff.

Bethany Grace, It's very easy. On the "Create your Google Account" signup page, simply select the option that states "Use my current email address instead". That option is located just below the segment that asks you to create a "Username". Hope that helps.

There's another scam circulating that a legal outfit is threatening to copy strike your channel unless you pay them $1,500 to avoid the matter. If they have a legit claim, they would copy right strike and you can dispute it legally. They're not looking for a fight, they're looking for an easy mark.
