I'm just binge watching your channel and have to agree with the others- the commentary was great! Made me giggle listening to your reaction when they were being naughty. I bet you were glad you took Obi out for a practice run somewhere before nationals...or maybe it made you more nervous because he was having an off day? I tried *one* dressage test with my gelding as a teen and it was a disaster 🥴 Love watching your guys, though! I thought Zora looked gorgeous at the trot in the warm up ring even though she was a little excited. It definitely looked like she was adding a little extra swagger for the other horses to see lol

Oh my goodness what a sassy pants Obi was so full of himself but your experience of tests won the day. As for Zora what an amazing horse, you would never have known this was her first time. I think you've got a little star there Miri. Well done you.🎈🎈👍🎈🎈 Forgot to mention you looked amazing in that geeen top it's definitely your colour you need to wear it more often.

I'm glad I watched this video. I hope to be starting low level dressage sometime in 2021, and this is an "expectations vs reality" reminder for me. Especially the unexpected low score on the 4 year old, and the unexpectedly high score on the black/white horse. The judging in dressage seems to be somewhat subjective, I notice, so I need to keep that in mind when I start competing. Also, the reminder to not let low scores get you down, and let them push you to work harder to get better.

What an exciting day! Obi is a bit of a freight train! I thought it was a great change for him to be high strung in a positive way rather than how he used to get nervous. Yes he had IDEAS about bolting, and it didn't make your ride very easy, and it certainly wasn't as polished as you've come to expect from him, but it's far better than his old worry and stress at shows! Zora was mega! I know she was worried and the flashiness in warmup wasn't a good thing, but she really has the moves! And she did SO WELL in the ring! Then to top your day off casually broke her halter :) never a dull moment! But really I think you handled everything so well! I'd love to see Zora at her young horse show!

What seems clear to me is that Zora has a lot of trust in you and you have built a lot of trust in her. So when she goes very high energy and needs to blow off some steam, you trust her to come back to you. She trusts your direction and after she comes down and returns to you she responds beautifully to your asks. Imagine what she will look like in a couple of years!!!

Loved this video. Obi must have put the fear of God into that poor judge - her life must have flashed before her!! You did brilliantly to minimise the 'damage' 😱. Looked like you must have had 'four weetabix breakfast'😌 to restrain Obi. Zora was an absolute star - she has a beautiful action in her trot. Many congratulations Miri. I suggest pectoral muscle workouts as well as 'glutes' - just in case!

Hi Miri, I think you did a great job with Obi, my horse is quite similar at times very strong and the half halt becomes non existent. I think the fact that he ended the test in the way he did considering how he started was a reflection of how well you rode. love your videos and thanks for sharing your journey and work with your horses. And I also prefer the voice overs to music too

I sometimes wonder if some judges are blind. Like I understand they comment about the nose, but it is so obvious as to why you're holding him back a little bit. Like, if this were a completely relaxed test and you were holding him back for no apparent reason I'd comment on it too, but it is so obvious that he was being funny and you were doing your best to just keep him collected and with you the entire time. But nono, let the nose out Hackett, it will be so much better!😂 I think you managed it well, I love your videos😊👏🏻

Good luck at nationals.
