You should also mention that one of the big advantages to the partial capo "hack" is that all your upper closed chords and scale shapes above the capo are unchanged from standard tuning. So you can get those unique DADGAD-sounding open chords but also jam out without having to re-think the whole fretboard.

Love and adore DADGAD but it seems for finger-pickers. Got a touch of arthritis and I'm a lead guitar player, blues, jazz and rock. Guess I'll just listen.
