Awesome hacks, Mary, & I am blown away by the one stamping on both sides of the cardstock. Genius! Of course, if I forget you showed that & I ever think of it in the future, I'm totally taking credit. LOL The only caveat to that method would be to be careful with which coloring medium you pick. I'm thinking especially of alcohol markers, which would very likely bleed through the cardstock & make an absolute mess of one side of your image. I would personally recommend a "dry" medium like colored pencils, which have the added advantage of not really reacting with most (if not all) inks. Yes, they can cover the stamped lines or make them hazy, but that's the only downside I can think of. I know you were looking for the word cattails, but I think what you drew would be more aptly termed rushes or reeds. Cattails have the fuzzy part on a stalk that makes them look like, well, cats' tails. :) I like rushes myself, as I think it's a more unusual-sounding and lesser-used word, therefore more special. Just sayin'...! Thank you for sharing these tips. I have done mirror-image stamping using the back of a clear stamp & a mirror-image stamp. The latter is just basically a thin sheet of solid red rubber like they use for rubber stamps. I read somewhere a long time ago you can get a similar item in the plumbing section of a home improvement store. I have never seen anything like that there, though I have never done an exhaustive search in such places, either. I have also used acetate or clear packaging in the same way you used a silicone mat, though I never liked the results with that. The ink just seems to bead up & not transfer as well. Anyway, this was a longer comment than I'd intended. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)

I think mirror stamping is so impressive, but I never thought of using a large word die! I always see trees- almost exclusively - in this type of stamping, so this is especially lovely and useful. Thank, Mary!

Learn something new every day. I never knew or thought about doing the reflecting mirror image. I was going to say you could do a clear embossing powder ( I like the on the chunky..is that the name?) On the bottom half of the card (water portion). You beat me to it 😂. I think I like your idea better. A combination of the 2??? I think the name your looking for is cattails, but they have a hotdog looking thing on the end (if you get one, you can smoosh it in your hands and it is like a dandelion but more dense...not sure of that is a good description 😅😂. Or beach grass...a totally different thing. That is kinda like the grassy part on the dune. Oh my goodness, I'm horrible at explaining things. I'm more of a visual person, and I see your card is beautiful 😍! XOKO ❣❣❣
