I have learned some of the techniques mentioned in this video by observing my cats, tbh. Especially my dudebro cat. He's buff af, yet sleeps about 20 hrs a day. He'll also stretch often, like several times a day, and work his upper arms (aka scratching the furniture) as often as he can, but always in short bursts of furniture-destroying mania. Top that with his HIIT workout (zoomies), and you got yourself a real Kittechad.

Another one: substitute a routine into a workout. My new job is 10 min away by car, I got a cheap bike and get there in 20 min. My legs are killing me but it's another small workout I have
@tjn0110
@tjn0110 3 ай бұрын
20 minutes is more than enough time to get a good workout, ie. I just did 10 pushups and 20 kettlebell swings, each set on the minute for 20 minutes (20 sets, so 200 pushups and 400 swings in total), that was killer and simple. I got that workout done in less time than it takes to get to/from a gym, and it was free.

My challenge for a lifetime is to add more mobility workouts. I've done all kinds of different workouts but not any kind of mobility workouts. I had several injuries that took a while to heal and occasionally the pain lingers but every since I started incorporating Strength Side mobility workouts (2x/wk) , Ive notice a hella lot of feel good days. I love and appreciate the tips. Aloha !

I really like the idea of this approach. I'm a natural fidget who feels like I've got trapped energy in my body while sitting long periods of time. Waiting to release this tension later in the day at the gym in a 45min session just doesn't work for me. It's time to make this my life. Not 45min 3x a week. You guys rock! Thank you!

My goal is to do Hip flexor pigeon pose stretches every night before I go to bed and abit of squat/ankle mobility work on top of it. Try to hit Full Body Workouts at least twice a week and 10k steps on at least 5 days of the week as well.

I personally love to be on the floor when working on my laptop. And then switch positions every now and then. For example start in crossed leg pose until uncomfortable, then into a light pancake, then into a 90/90, switch sides, pigeon, cobra. You could even work on the laptop in a lunge position if you have enough mobility to be close enough to the floor or elevate your laptop with a shoe box. There are many options and I love the strength side way!

I think in the past 3-4 years I have watched 90% of my TV while working out or stretching. Sitting still makes me feel odd, unless I am at movie theatres (where I do stay in a squat anyway...). Of course I still workout without TV or anything, just focusing on the movements, but if I really have to watch TV, then I move. It's an implicit rule by now. Also, no day goes by without me doing one pull up when passing under the bar on the living room door.

I appreciate this, but man, I get up and GO. Go outside for 13+ miles of hills and hiking (on a rough road) whilst keeping my eyes peeled for pileated woodpeckers and other crazy wildlife. One morning after a rain, there were all these TOADS. They were all different sizes, all posed, like they were going to play chicken with oncoming traffic. It was CRAZY. Then I go home and commune with my competition kettlebells and hex weights and my FAVORITE 30lb. Medicine Ball. Seriously, if I had to cut this short, I'd do five sets of medicine ball squats alternating with pushups. Then I always do about 30 focused uphill minutes on my Peloton Tread, while I watch KZbin or NetFlix or listen to Spotify on my phone. So tired of chatty trainers talking about this or that and having to listen to their questionable music choices. I just set the speed to 4 and the Tread goes up and down according to the workout. That is a great feature. Auto incline! I'm married, spouse is retired, we have no kids, all our pets have passed on. I will be starting a part time job next month. A part time job that is SECOND SHIFT. Yay! Can just get up and do my THANG and then go to work in the afternoon.

To prepare a triathlon M ( olympic format ) in enseptember, i decided to go rucking each time I walk my dog , which is 3 times a day, in total about an hour daily. I started with a 5 kg plate in my backpack, now it is 15 kg, July and August It will be 20 kg, and hopefully 25 kg in September. It works beautufully for my endurance and strenght, a great "atomic habit" I implemented.

I sympathise with the ideas laid out in this video, but if you recommend something that goes against the "mainstream", I think you ought to provide some evidence that suggests it works at least as well. For example, does a single set of pushups whenever you open social media really achieve strength gains comparable to a "proper" upper body workout where you warmed up etc? I'd be curious to see that.

@thebigfatmonkey
@thebigfatmonkey 3 ай бұрын
@@jantona I never said it had to be "maximally effective", but I think it's a legitimate question to ask whether it actually works. You probably wouldn't call "Don't have time to go to the gym? Then just don't" a fitness hack, would you?

Dr. Rhonda Patrick pushes the idea of exercise "Snacks," doing something whenever you have a few.... A baby jogger, aka racing stroller, is one of the best exercise stackers! You get a babysitter, get a great workout, and introduce the kids to an active lifestyle at an early age. My 3 kids, and now my grandkids were raised in one!

Thank you so much for your videos! I really enjoy them. I would be very interested to know what you think of an EMOM approach for bodyweight exercises with a tight time budget. Example: If my max pull-up reps are 6, and I do 50% of my max every minute for 10 minutes, then I do 30 reps in that time. In the same time, I could do about 18 reps with straight sets. With the EMOM approach I get a higher volume in the same time and also accumulate muscle fatigue over time and get a small cardio session. If 10 x 3 becomes too easy, I can gradually adjust the reps up to 10 x 5. If 10 x 5 becomes too easy, I can start again at 10 x 3 with additional weight. This workout could easily be integrated into a busy daily routine: 10 minutes of pull-ups here, 10 minutes of push-ups there, 10 minutes of squats there.

I wish my WFH husband could do these little active exercise breaks. Unfortunately when on a call or working independently, he has to look at a computer screen (sometimes multiple ones) to get anything accomplished. There are no work calls that don’t involve several computer programs or emails. He often gets so lost in work that he’ll forget to eat lunch. How do I get him to try these things before or after work without sounding like I’m nagging him?
