I'm not surprised at all. My seat-of-the-pants experience with the gels is that they're much weaker than the liquids. If you're ever looking for a project, I'd be really interested in seeing how clear nail polish compares to liquid blue (and maybe blue gel, too). I've used nail polish when I literally had no alternatives and while I wouldn't trust large fasteners or critical assemblies of any size with nail polish, it has worked well on small non-critical fasteners that aren't subjected to a lot of stress (like vibration).

Great video.. I'm even more confused now that ever though hah. I thought that the liquid would outperform both just because the liquid can reach more thread material easier than a gel but I guess my theory made no difference here. Do you think these results would align with similar tests conducted for vibration? I think that is the main purpose of loctite.
