I love the red.! Something about transparent red reminds me of Luden cough drops and I'm here for it. Another one on the list, thanks Grace 😂

Yup, so glad I stuck to my initial call to get the red. Might get the green later but all is well with this red Curidas in Grace's world. 😆 And Luden cough drops? I get it tho.

This pen is a rubrics cube when it comes to filling. Also I had to return my first one because the flap that keeps the nib from drying out wasn’t closing all the way causing the nib to dry out. My second one is behaving, and it writes very nicely, but I still hate refilling it.

On retractable pens - there is also the Ensso Bolt, it's bolt action rather than a click at the top, it's smooth and wet but it is a skinny pen

That's the one issue with my other retractable too...filling and putting back together. So that begs the question, should a retractable FP be hard/finicky to use and does that take away from the enjoyment so eventually it just ends up sitting in storage not being used? Mmmh... @apocalypse_frau kinda asked that question about ease of use.

Actively looking at what else is out there in the capless/retractable pen world...including maybe, the green Curidas. Got to try an Ennso Bolt at our Pelikan Hub meetup last week. It's now def on my pen wish list. 🤪

Lovely review! This pen is my absolute favorite, it is my EDC at the moment. I find that it writes really well on Rhodia dot paper both the fine and medium nibs. Also, the nibs are spectacular!!! It has a good amount of feedback and no issues with skipping whatsoever. I hope you enjoy this pen, in my opinion it needs a lot more love.

I totally agree with you Arindham, this pen needs more love. I have this thing with finding different, maybe unknown-to-most pens. But I am on a quest to collect other retractables out there. Got to test out the Ennso Bolt the other day...I'm hooked. 😆

@@wildlyimaginable that is amazing, I agree with you, to be fair I have gravitated to Platinum as they have become my favorite brand! @@wildlyimaginable They look intriguing but none that I've tried are comfortable for how I write. And thats the real key, it must be comfortable. I like slim small pens which most people do not. More for me LOL ;-D

That's an interesting take, Grace. I'm somewhat enamored with retractable/capless pens. I've had the Curidas in Graphite Smoke since 4/23. Some of the other ones i have are the Endless Creator (a disappointment), the Ensso Bolt, the Lamy Dialog cc (not the Dialog 3), the new Nahvalur Eclipse, a couple of Noodler's Boston Safety Pens, a Pilot Decimo, the Majohn A1, A2, & A3, a Stipula Leonardo Da Vinci Capless, Not the Montblanc Boheme but a couple of copies/fakes one of which is the Majohn X1. I also have a few vintage "Safety" pens as well. So you see, there are a lot of retractable/capless pens available. For me I generally have no issues with any of them. I'm somewhat of a savant when it comes to anything mechanical/technical - I've been that way since I was a kid!! I think one of the big issues some have with the Eclipse is trying to operate it one handed - not a problem for me!! So, I hope you enjoy your Curidas!!
@wildlyimaginable3 ай бұрын
Omg, you given me a few more retractable pens to add to my list! Yes! I now know who to come to when I have capless pen questions 😝 I had not heard of the Stipula or Montblanc Boheme capless and no time soon will I be able to get either in. Wow it's seriously pricy!

@@wildlyimaginable If you think about it, the shear number of pens in general is just so overwhelming!! And then the subset of capless/retractable can be overwhelming as well. The Boheme in particular, since it has not been manufactured for some time, has reached the status of near unobtainium. It doesn't help that the cost to get one can be very high indeed!! It's a blessing and a curse that I'm fully retired, and have so much time on my hands to search out and find pen brands that don't seem to be in the mainstream consciousness!!

@@zeus52452 Totally agree. I've started doing KZbin pen vidoes cause I'd just "retired" and wanted to do something completely different. Also, I find I'm the same with pens....I like & enjoy the pens that are known to most and readily available but also am so curious about what isn't in the mainstream pen consciousness. Btw, that word--unobtainium-- is now on my list of cool words. Once upon a time (in my teens) etymology was a serious thing for me so my brain got thrown seeing a word I actually did not know. @@wildlyimaginable I think they're interesting but don't really appeal to me at this point. Taking them apart to fill them is one of the biggest deterrents. They're more complicated than I want to deal with at this point in my journey. I might get bored down the road and want to try one.

Do you feel like experience with a Vanishing Point is an asset with inking/assembly of the Curidas (from the aspect of tinkering with patience initially, then using with ease thanks to bonus points earned through muscle memory with subsequent use)?
@wildlyimaginable3 ай бұрын
Oooh....good question! Altho they have the same assemblage as in needing to fit the nib in a certain way so the top bit can close properly, I found this new one still a bit finicky at first despite having had experience with my VP Decimo. After getting this one, I put the Nahvalur on my pen wish list but now you're making me have a rethink. I'm going to get a few more differently branded retractable FPs in (Ennso, Majohn & Jinhao to name a few) and see how they fare in the filling/putting back together process. Your question has confirmed my idea for a new video. Thanks! 😊
