I would put that Colorverse sheener in a Pilot Iro-ai with a calligraphy nib. Those pens are DRY af. I use Herbin or similarly dry inks with my FPR Ultraflex ebonite combo. It makes a big difference. FPR sells a specific ink for these that I want to try, but I am trying to pace myself after this holiday madness 😂.

How do you write with so many pens every month (currently inked)? Do you alternate what pens you use every day? Do you limit the amount of ink you use in each pen so you can write them dry? Or does a lot of ink just go to waste? I'm struggling with how to handle this. I have a planner, a journal and work meeting notes so to me that's 3 pens but I see people inking 8, 10, 12 pens every month. How does that work?

Grace, love your energy and content, thanks for being here! One thing that I have a hard time with personally is the constant Muzak in the background, after a while it makes watching unpleasant unfortunately. Maybe at key moments, time-lapses, or intro/outro it would be an interesting accent, but at least for me, the experience is better without unending musical accompaniment. Just my 2 cents, overall your filming and editing are superior to mine, though I have also shared a 2025 Notebooks video from the perspective of a coach and dance educator: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enTciJilo6iHa5Isi=H3g9M34vx9w1u941 Happy New Year! 🎆

I'm sorry about that irritation Blythe. 😕 When I'm speaking I do have it quite low. Funny tho that I'm the opposite of you...quiet videos without that background music there's a pretty good chance I'll get distracted and then have to constantly rewind to catch what I missed 🤣. So when I saw that it was recommended I started adding music to my videos. It's a weird science anomaly that I cannot explain, just know about. On another note, I enjoyed watching your video! Love the idea of using origami papers in my art journal (which I'm picking back up this year.) It's funny how the more notebooks we gather to us the more there's a "thing" we find to use them for. 😄 Happy New Year!

With me I have to match the color of the ink to the pen cause the first year I was into the fountin pen hobby I mixed and matched and I mucked it up so many times so after I got fed up I made a deal with myself If I have an ink thats a certain color I will match it to that color family of pen cause I cant ! I've .. I'm ... sigh its to much to have to look them up each time or have a notecard in front of me :)
@wildlyimaginable2 күн бұрын
I get that Miss Marilyn. The cheat sheet I make every month is my way to cope with not remembering what's in a pen. Been doing it for more than a year now so it's muscle memory to create one each month. Matching for me means I won't be able to use certain inks when in the mood for it. Ha!

Think of me like Goldilocks....A5 is sometimes to big. A6 is sometimes too small and B6 is juuuust right 😆 Me and organization go hand in hand too. Visual clutter in books, room, even while shopping truly does my head in, almost to the point of getting a headache. I cannot cope so I'm a definite preparer of allthethings.

I was clearly not paying attention that it came in two sizes. 😂 I am happy to send more All the Best and any of the others in our upcoming swap. 😉 I also want to make swatch cards for all of my inks and spend some quality time getting to know them and my pens better in 2025. May the new year be filled with peace and joy for you and your loved ones. ❤❤❤

@wildlyimaginable10 күн бұрын
Ooh! I like that idea. As I was recording I started thinking like that about all the inks I gathered to me this year and which ones I need to let go of in the collection that I know I’ll never use. Now that you mention it, prolly need to reassess my pen collection too. When I did the pen awards I realized I bought quite a few pens as well. Need to slow that down so plan is to make some “rules” to follow. I was a free spirit in that dept before but guess that makes sense since I had to find out what my likes and dislikes are. Happy New Year my friends! 🎉

@ I most assuredly have plenty of pens from which to choose. I am finding some really nice pens I bought, played with and cleaned and put away in my toy box. I seriously had no clue what I had or was doing, other than buying pretty pens. 😳😉 I have a Lamy 2000, 14kt with stainless steel reinforced nib, empty! Now, why in the world? I remember not knowing what I was doing and got frustrated trying to ink it up, totally clueless. So I put it away! I seriously need to revisit and actually use my pens for more than a few days! 😂. So many choices and a new year to come to terms with what I’m actually doing! 😘

Totally making a swatchbook in 2025. I don’t have a ton of inks but I still forget what ink I am using in my pens and I like to switch it up often. I would also like to keep track so I know how the ink is performing in each pen I own and figure out my favorite combinations.
@wildlyimaginable10 күн бұрын
Yes! Do it! Going thru the notebook brought back such fond memories of the swatch session and the inks I loved but had forgotten about. My next plan is to swatch all the inks I have in my collection. That’s a big task but I want to know before I start purchasing more inks in 2025. I wanted to know that too, about how inks perform in each pen I put them in. That s why I designed my PIPs sheets. Every pen I own has a sheet dedicated to it so I can’t k its performance with diff inks over time. You can check them out in my Ko-fi page (link in description).
