For some families, especially for children, they can NEVER get over this sad yet beautifully written by Eric Clapton. How he managed to sing this song is beyond me. Such a wonderful man thinking of his beautiful son, only 4 years old, in a high rise apartment. RIP little one 💔💔💔💔

It took me 3 years to mourn the tragic loss of my own son. And thank god this song made its way to my ears and the process began. I remember watching the news when Claptons son died and remember how awful that was. The song brought tears to my eyes thinking of my own children. 12 years later I found out how deep this song reaches and just how strong one has to be to face the experience. This song asks all the questions that the sense of never ever again bring to mind. Great review 👍

Yes the Yardbirds had Clapton, Page and Beck. All three are master guitarists. They played at a skill level that so many never reached. Each shined so bright that all 3 of them needed their own spotlight.

Jeff Beck just died recently, he and Johnny Depp were playing together at the time. Eric Clapton wrote this song for his very young son who was playing and fell to his death through a window in their apartment. Eric pretty much stopped living...he was devastated. He also write an interesting song called, "Holy Mother", which he did with Pavarotti

Clapton is the only person to be nominated into rock and roll hall of fame 3 times. He is also in the blues hall of fame. Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Blues Breakers, Bonnie, Delaney and Friends, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominos, numerous Beatles songs and other top tier artist's songs and if they wasn't enough he released 24 solo albums. There will never be another like him.

I grew up listening to Eric Clapton. The last concert Stevie Ray Vaughan (my personal all time favorite) played was with Eric Clapton. 3 members of Clapton’s crew were killed along w SRV. Such a tragedy and loss!!! For a few hours rumors were that Clapton was on board that helicopter. And this song makes me think of my mother and daddy💔💔

Clapton is the O.G. Guitar God. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame more times than anyone else, with The Yardbirds, Cream, and as a solo artist. While with Derrick and the Dominos, he wrote his classic hit, "Layla", about Patty Boyd, George Harrison's ex wife. He also played lead guitar on The Beatles, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." It is a great idea to listen to the original Layla and then his unplugged version back to back. They sound like two different songs.

You will see your loved ones again, and be with your grandmother who is with you in spirit. The pain we feel when we lose them is crushing because we are humans and we love deeply, but we will feel this love again when we return home one day, when we have been through this beautiful and sometimes heart-wrenshing experience that is life on earth. All my love, from Perth, Australia.

Icon and legend, Eric Clapton will tell you that the late great, Stevie Ray Vaughn is one of the most gifted guitarists he had ever heard and whom ever lived. I was working with a rock band when the news broke that Eric’s four year old son fell through and open window in the high-rise they were living in N.Y. at that time. Being a dad myself I was crushed and my heart went out to Eric and his wife for having lost their son. I was so traumatized at hearing the news that I couldn’t do anything, but weep. I was imagining how I would have reacted after losing my son, let alone, in that way.

So I've been extremely lucky to meet a lot of the musicians back then cuz I'm 59 now been so blessed to meet so many people even band members from Kiss kids we were all staying at the same motel at one point that was an interesting evening I'll leave that right where it is

Great story from Paul McCartney is that when Jimi Hendrix was playing a bunch of these musicians went to see this new guitarist. But in Hendrix style, his guitar string stretching would put it out of tune. Hendrix asked for Clapton to come up and tune his guitar. Clapton put his hand up to block his face and hid from Hendrix as a joke.

He wrote this for his son, Conor who died tragically .. Conor, Clapton's four-year-old son, fell 53 stories from a New York City apartment on January 13, 2005. Conor was killed when he fell from a window that was accidentally left open as he leaned out of a window on the 53rd floor, Clapton wasn't there at the time and as you know, as a dad you're expect to be the protector of your kids, it hit him hard.
