Considering the fact that in some of the actual myths, Dionysius is the reincarnation of Zagreus, him having the most OP Boons are kind of a given.

They mention it in game, too, and play it off as Zagreus and Dionysus pranking Orpheus, getting him to come up with those myths. Dionysus' boons generally aren't that great, though; basically every weapon will want something besides his core boons, but he makes up for it in being very simple. You don't need to optimize boon parhs when you can just spam levels on his hangover or cast, but at higher levels of play he falls off in most cases with only some exceptions. Super mid god overall

@@jonathand.t.5051 Not really. She's more of a support God who you'd usually enjoy seeing, but can be crucial or unnecessary for your build. If you're talking about highest level as highest heat, zeus on zeus shield is the best since it's reliable spammable damage even when approval process takes away any choice in boons. Athena is the best god overall at many higher heat levels, because divine dash is amazing defensively and she can give you extra stubborn defiance charges

Other fun, sometimes easy builds: - Beowulf with Dionysus on the Cast: There's a bug in the game where pom upgrades on the cast don't diminish *specifically for this combination*. Auto generating casts + chaos cast + (if you're lucky artemis legendary) and all poms go on your cast for _massive damage_ - Spear with serrated edge and poseidon on the attack, zeus on (not the cast), and then sea storm. 180 damage per dash + poseidon attack and either of the various buffs for all the goodies. Bonus points for as big a double strike as you can get. - All of the zeus on zeus shield because it's in the name and also kinda plays itself in the same way as dionysus does - Arthur with artemis and just do all the damage. Alternatively, Rama with artemis, and do the same. - Achilles spear with literally any cast, all the money in the cast. Kinda can't mess this one up. - Chiron with all the zeus (especially zeus special), or with poseidon special + sea storm again, but you need double strike because of how the lightning bolt timer works.

@@Isaac-oq3yf If you've beaten the game and unlocked Pact of Punishment (the "heat" levels you see ppl talking about) one of them progressively upgrades each boss. At max, this includes giving Hades a form 3. It's... Rough, until you get used to it. I find anything that lets me keep Aphrodite on dash to be helpful with survivability.

Love this video! I noticed that there’s no spear build, so I figured I’d post one here that worked pretty well for me. Basic Zagreus aspect works here. The build is centered around an Ares special and Aphrodite attack, as well as the Chain Skewer upgrade from the Daedalus Hammer. Impending Doom from Ares is also helpful, and if you can get Curse of Longing, definitely take it. Artemis cast and Athena dash are nice, and also as much crit that you can cram in here. The strategy for this build is pretty simple: As soon as you enter a room, use your special to apply Doom to all enemies. Use your attack to have two status effects if you have the percent buff from the mirror, then hit everyone with the special again. That’s the gist of the playstyle. Sorry for the text wall, but I hope this is helpful for people who want to use Varatha!

I was about to get mad on bashing Dionysus till Part s-Seven. the literal synergies from the duo boons are so good on any build (even ones that aren't the Aegis and Coronacht builds here). Dionysus lives up to his name whenever he shows up with the duo boons, and playing any run with them turns the run into party time with how fun and funny some builds become.

8:37 Hate to break it to you but Divine Dash can no longer be used to get Deadly Reversal. The devs know everyone is spamming Divine Dash and kept getting Deadly Reversal whenever Artemis shows up.

Thank you for the longer video. I realize that it took forever to edit, and I think I can speak for most people who watched it when I say that we appreciate it. I'm particularly grateful for the long content now, it's been a hellish few weeks capped off with an abysmal birthday, and this half-hour or so has definitely brightened the mood at least a little bit. Personally, though, of all the builds in Hades, my strongest tend to be with Aspect of Arthur. Just because with the right boons (usually Aphrodite, who seems to have the highest damage scaling in the game, ahead of even Athena and Poseidon) that sword SLAPS. And it's equally well suited to single target damage and clearing out crowds once you get used to the attack patterns. They may be very slow, but they hit like a freight train and they cover a huge area, and it doesn't matter if you're vulnerable if there's nobody left to be vulnerable to. Aspect of Arthur with a mostly Aph/Artemis build was what got me my 50 heat victory.

@@tonyru6982 If I recall correctly, you have to unlock the hidden aspect of the Spear first. You also have to have invested some Titan Blood in the blade, I think a minimum of 5. A lot of the hidden aspects also require you to speak to a specific person while wearing any other variant of the weapon, but I don't remember whether the Aspect of Arthur needed that, or who it was if it did.

Plus you can dash mid attack string with it and carry your current attack through. It's kinda niche but it helped me in my heart 8 run with the sword.

@@artorios637 There are honestly quite a few things about the sword which, once you get used to working with them, are incredibly strong. The alt attack is extremely powerful, but it requires you to play around it in a way that very few other weapons do. It's just a weapon that works very, very differently from every other form in the game, even other sword forms, but once you get used to it, it is very potent. The main thing is just getting used to the different pace, and that every attack is a commitment. That's not much of a problem for me, though, I've always been a fan of the 'move slow, swing slow, hit BIG' style in just about any game.

I remember that one time I got a full ares build (super high doom damage, reaplaying of doom for even more damage and a 80% extra doom damage at the cost of activation speed, wich led me apply even more doom btw) in the fucking Special, combine this with crit boosts from Artemis and u get that I did about 1500 dmg to hades on one cast, that was a fun run

I seem to recall Aspect of Hera Aphrodite's cast Artemis's exit wounds, Hermes Quick reload and Artemis's legendary boon was a fun time. Pretty much you load an arrow attached to an Atomic bomb and paste a foe. The bloodstones then pop out fast from Hermes and the fun continues. Also, I find finishing off the temple of Styx with the Pom Blossom works out decently, since every room the blossom considers a floor.

Something you might want to check out is the hunting blades duo boon. Achilles aspect on spear buffs 4 casts/attacks after special recovery. Combined with the seeking blade vortexes, it does hella dmg.

Sweet guide! on the gilga twin fists build, I love especially runs with fake good RNG. Got athena 3 times in the run and Ares 3 times from CONSECUTIVE rooms, and couldn't get impending doom from either of them and not even from rerolls, not to mention the duo boon also didn't roll. On paper it seemed like the luckiest run and the build just didn't happen

@@Windette True, but Artemis straight up gives you more casts, which is very early on and the mirror upgrade does too and you don't even need to switch to the alternate upgrades for those. Also, don't quote me on this but I believe Hermes has stuff to do with casts too; One boon makes them drop out from enemies quicker which is good for the Aspect of Hera and another one makes them return to you way faster which is good if you either miss and they become unreachable, or if you aimed into a group of enemies and you're low hp (which your viewers will be all the time)

Personal build: MALPHON 1. Tipsy Lightning aspect of Zagreus (2 button mash build) -Attack: Dionysus (priority) -Special: Any -Cast: Any -Dash: Zeus (Dionysus, Aphrodite, or Athena) -Revenge: Ares -Mirror Requirements: Stubborn Defiance, Ruthless Reflex, Thick Skin Just hold attack and spam the dash, it basically does the work for you as long as you have the mirror requirements. Good for farming not for endgaming

I got this game two days ago and have so far attempted 27 escapes. after rewatching this video again for the builds I can say that you really helped. I would not have known how to use the titans blood and would have wasted it. I have gone as far as 37 chambers so far and made it to Thaddeus and the Bull fight, and can do the hydra fight with not much difficulty.

it's been a bit since I've played hades, but lemme see if I can remember my mop-up build: Weapon: Twin Fists, Aspect of Demeter Hammers: Long knuckle, explosive upper, then anything else that feels good (ex. concentrated knuckle and breaching cross if you can find a 3rd hammer) Attack: Zeus - Lightning strike, then storm lightning, then high voltage, double strike, static discharge, splitting bolt. Special: Artemis - Deadly flourish, then support fire and pressure points Cast: Dionysus - Trippy shot, then numbing sensation, peer pressure, high tolerance Dash: Athena - Divine dash, anything else you like Call: Dionysus - Dionysus' Aid, then blackout if you have his cast Other boons: - Hermes - Swift strike, greater haste, anything else that feels good - Chaos - anything that feels good Duo boons: - Zeus/Dio - Scintillating Feast - Artemis/Dio - Splitting Headache - Artemis/Athena - Deadly Reversal Pros: ultimate crowd control because lightning, hangover fog, and arrows everywhere, plus high single-target damage with your special Cons: duo boons that aren't needed show up relatively often

For the spear, Aspect of Achilles with Hunting Blades is broken with things like Ares's legendary, Artemis's legendary, the Artemis and Poseidon duo, the auto-reload Hermes legendary, and/or extra casts or cast damage from Chaos

The fact that the Aspect of Hera + Dionysus's Cast wasn't mentioned is criminal. Adding the Lighting Festive Fog (Plus other Zeus boons) and Artemis's Legendary can beat Hades faster than anything I am aware of... Or if you are lucky you could even get both The duos that buff your Cast and breach several articles in the Geneva Conventions

Since we talking about forbidden build imma slide this one in Hunting blades on aspect of Achilles. Attack: Artemis Special: Poseidon Cast: Ares Duo boons: hunting blades, mirage shot. Aspect of Achilles buffs your cast and attack when you use your special ( not hit, use) for 4 uses of attack or cast. So grab cast on ares and attack/ special on Artemis ( I prefer attack so I can do funny marked shit easier), and get the duo boon hunting blades. It makes it so that the big ass blade rift tracks onto enemies so use a special throw your cast and start shredding things to death. To put this into context I only had 2 clears in about 70ish runs, I used this build, and immediately cleared on my first attempt, and finished my first pact of punishment with my fastest time. It’s absolutely filthy 🤣 Update: so I decided to slot in posiden cuz I ran into him naturally and got mirage shot as well. In my most recent run I did a higher heat with the bosses, fought Charon and beat hades.

I know this is an old video, but I watched it this morning before work and decided to do a Hades run to see if it had any validity. I genuinely just unlocked the Aspects for weapons last night and Chiron on bow was my first unlock. I got it to level 2 and I beat my first escape attempt on #26. Holy hell was this video a HUGE help!

Slicing shot is probably the easiest build to work with once you get it going, but until you do you are very weak. I usually take Achilles spear, ares cast, artemis special, and I usually try not to pick up other gods as there are a few secondary boons I like to add, like the 3 ares boons "Engulfing cortex", "Black metal" and "Vicious cycle". When you get the duo boon "Slicing shot", all you have to do is cast and watch the enemy die without you needing to lift a finger. Works with either the multiple casts or reloading casts- multiple casts means you have to pick them up every once in a while, reloading casts means you'll have to beg to Chaos and Artemis for their extra casts

If I may suggest a good build: Zeus shield Ares special Athena attack Duo: Merciful End Hammers: 1. Attack does multiple hits but doesn't pushback. Throw shield then whack with the attack. Doom damage with attack multiplied is overkill.

10:23... to be fair, if you get Dyo's call, you can apply toxic status with it... so you could in theory get the duo boon if RNgesus is up for your shenanigans. On a sidenote.: A fun run to do is a Greed Run. - Take the Sword and hope you get a hammer in the first rooms. - Hope you get Hoarding Slash. - You will now gun for only Money Rooms and Boon rooms. - Make you sure you only have 3 God Boons at any given time and sell those at the red Fountains. - Take Sissyphys keepsake. - Melt your enemies with the power of Greed and Friendship. Only major downside with this run is that its possible to fuck it up in the Last Area if you dont find a Red Fountain to sell the boons at.

I pressed into this video out of curiosity, was playing a run while listening, loudly yelled 'OI' whenever you dunked on Dionysius because I was playing a Chiron Dio build, then laughed when you started on the dio build because that is precisely when I started annihilating Hades with it.
