ADDENDUM: Ricochet Fire was not listed on the Wiki and I forgot to mention it, I apologize. My thoughts on Ricochet Fire: Amazing with aspect of Hestia since the empowered shot after reloading can bounce to another enemy. It's OK with aspect of Zag and Eris: can apply more Zeus/Dio/Doom more easily to multiple enemies, but not necessarily great compared to other hammers typically.
ADDENDUM PT 2: Eris got nerfed from an 8 second buff to 4 seconds, overall still extremely powerful but makes you manage the special more often.

You forgot to include Ricochet Fire in the hammer section, and with that my favorite synergy with Hestia, because the empowered shot can, in fact, bounce off enemies at least once and makes cleaning rooms a LOT faster, specially if you have something like Artemis' boon that makes that empowered shot crit and you see the HP be cleaved in half

One thing that's worth mentioning explicitly when it comes to the basic controls and movement for the weapon is that you can cancel out of the reloading animation early by dashing (and also by using the special I think?). You actually showed this off in your gameplay examples and I think most people end up picking it up intuitively fairly early on, but realizing this was what made the weapon a lot more fun to use for me. Thanks for the weapon guides!

It got me closest in my first almost. I sailed through the game at like run 18 or so and choked on Hades when he had that second life I had no clue about. I beat him a few runs later though (fisted him to death). I didn't actually beat him with the rail for the first time until like my 35th run though

Jawless Paul had a really good tip with this weapon on a vid a while back that for some reason escaped me the whole time I played up until I heard him suggest it. Re-bind the reload button to L1 and rebind the codex to R3 if playing on controller. Makes the gun so much easier and more pleasant to use. This being your first tip in your vid also really cements the importance of it.

I would also like to add that I changed my dash button to the R1 and interact to X button, that way you can save your thumbs from doing all the work. It takes some time to get used to, but i feel its absolutely worth it.

On KB&M I ended up rebinding reload to left alt so I wouldn't have to take my fingers off of WASD and could reload more easily while moving.

Definitely change the reload bind. I made it LB and put codex on R3. I also got in the habit of reloading every time I dash to reposition. I don't tend to dart around while firing a WHOLE lot

I haven't tried the aspect of Eris builds mentioned here, but I just wanted to say I love aspect of zag with flurry fire and Artemis or Dionysus on the attack. It's the best damage I've gotten out of the rail so far (I'm still very new to the game) and it's really fun to watch enemies melt from the DoT effects. Also support fire from Artemis is underrated for this imo.

Hazard bombs was my first escape too. One thing that was really great was during 2nd phase hades fight when he does the big laser attack you can get off a broken amount of damage because he stands still for the whole attack and you can lob the special over those pillars easily.

I have found that on mouse and keyboard when using the splash dash build seeking fire can be quite useful, as at least in my experience it can be quite hard to target foes with a mouse when constantly shifting position and focusing on landing the dashes. Admittedly beyond that specific case, I don’t know when it would be useful

my fav run crazy fun build I got with eris, was rocket and cluster, with Poseidon special, zeus attack, and the Sea Storm from them. also Rupture, Second Wave, it destroyed everything and was laughing after every fight cause everything was destroyed quick. theseus got flung a couple times from one side of the arena to another.

My favourite build for rail currently is a cold fusion one I got going recently - cold fusion, electric strike, frost flourish, static discharge, flurry fire, ricochet and cluster bomb. You special to get the damage boost as well as get chill on the enemy, then spam them to get privileged status on as well as jolted. The amount of damage you get off is insane. (Side note I somehow also got stubborn roots on that run, the stars weren't aligning they were _converging_ )

A few things to add: - Cluster Bomb and Triple Bomb are particularly nice with Eris, as you can land a blast on yourself and enemies simultaneously while still maintaining distance. Triple Bomb makes it easier to keep the Eris boost active as you have a much higher fire rate for the bombs. - Flurry Fire isn't great, but it's very useful if your attack boon is hangover or especially chill, as you can max out the stack much faster. Great for triggering Demeter's Arctic Blast. It does suck for Hestia, but the bonus ammo with Eris takes pressure off reloading so you can focus on bomb placement, and with Zag it's great to reach ridiculous ammo levels and pump it out, especially with Artemis' Support Fire. - Seeking Fire can help you get backstabs when the bullets curve around the back of an enemy. It's a solid hammer for Hestia, as 10% more damage on the empowered shot is quite nice, especially at higher aspect levels. It also ensures that big shot will land in case an enemy jumps/dashes out of the way. Even with aim assist you can totally miss, so homing bullets are still a big help, especially if you're applying chill or hangover or lightning. Seeking and Flurry make a nice synergy for Zeus, Demeter, Dio, or even Artemis attack. - Explosive Fire can apply a status curse to multiple enemies within the blast radius, so it's great for hangover and chill. The short slowing effect is also handy when you first apply chill, or with Numbing Sensation and hangover attack. Just wanted to offer those extra thoughts, great video though!!

Oh and you were spot on with triple special on Lucifer being the top tier pick. However, what you neglected to add was that you can spam the second set of three bombs onto the first three and make all 6 explode at once for 6 instances of special damage because launching a fourth special from Lucifer will cause the first one to explode and if they are all stacked, the explosion will set off the subsequent ones as well. This was so effective, I managed to kill extreme Asterius before Theseus even managed to make two complete loops around the arena. Granted it was a sub 10 (highest heat on rail for me still) but my evil plan of having demeter attack with aphrodite special (pommed to the gills) worked beautifully, if I do say so myself. In fact, Hades died without even taking a single death defiance, which is a super rare occurence for me.

I like Eternal Chamber when I'm going for the Super Soaker with a Car Battery build (Poseidon attack with Sea Storm). It's fun to push enemies around and take advantage of the multiple wall slams or trap kills you can get

Eris aspect + Hazard Bomb is actually really good. If you have multiple dashes just spam dash through the explosion and you'll get the trigger, it's really easy it's the same as dodging Hades attacks with the immunity frames. And because the explosion is so big it's actually easier than usual to get the Eris damage boost, I really enjoy it.

I too won my first game with hazard bomb and dionysus cast + demeter duo and zues duo. Just killed Hades from a screen away, thought it was super busted. Then played the zues poseidon build with rocket and cluster shot and realized what true power was.

Doom on lucifer is amazeballs. Pulsing out doom, then adding doom stacking, larger pulses, and the one that buffs doom but makes.it take longer. I have paired it with almost every attack, easy clears as high as I have pushed so far (only 11 heat)

No point in starting over/he only has one profile, which he uses for speedrunning.

Hellmode doesn't differentiate the gameplay enough for me to want to play it really, I couldnt use the profile for speedrunning and so I'd only use it for high heat stuff, even then it only adds the extra pact really.

Rocket bomb + triple bomb is actually pretty weird. Triple bomb makes it that the reload time between each rocket barrage is very long (roughly 3-4s) and you cant migitate it by releasing it more slowly. Maybe hermes special speed would solve this, but i didnt have the luck to acquire it in that scenario That actually costed me one run due to its clunkiness and low dps on boss. Cluster rocket however is just Pog

My first completed run was actually with Hazard Bomb going full ham on special by adding in Triple Bomb and getting special dmg boons as well. Combined together they are not the fastest way to clear a run (since bombs take some time to hit) but definitely one of the easiest ways. All I did was throwing bombs around while deflect-dashing continuously and welcome to Greece lmao.

One of my favorite things to do is play lucifer aspect, get triple bomb hammer, and take trippy shot on cast. The idea is you throw the bombs close together and use trippy shot to set them all off, I've had multiple runs where I pull this combo off and then never have to autofire again for the rest of the run. Definitely works better with mouse and keyboard for flick-aiming the hellfires as they come out, but it makes the entirety of styx a joke.

One thing I'd like to add; Ares is actually pretty great on Lucifer's special because the radiating damage effect will continually apply doom for as long as the globe is out. You can actually just set up a bunch of Doom Balls and lure enemies into them; not terribly glamorous, perhaps, but very effective.

I find that splash dash on Eris tends to be more frustrating than anything, because I like to play it very aggressively, firing the special at enemies and then dashing into it, and splash dash pushes them out. Am I just kinda Doing It Wrong, or is splash dash something you should avoid for really aggressive/speedrun-y Eris play?

It can cause that issue for sure, if you're relying on enemies to stand in the special then it could be a problem. If most of your damage is from zeus attack, landing specials shouldn't be a big deal.

I like the rail basic attack, but I can't properly aim the special so I usually don't use the special at all, or I fire it randomly it's kinda sad xD I'll always pick the rocket launcher hammer though because of that. Had a run with the cluster bomb, and rocket launcher upgrade recently, with zeus on my special aswell as zeus legendary, that was amazing melting every room in one shot ^^

Rail arguably the easiest aspect to do high heat, along with Shield throw maybe. Anything that's range and do rapid hits with high damage is very good for high heat. This game has so many layers of defense on enemies that's not beneficial for big hits, like the 2 hits mitigation pact, armour cannot be penetrated directly through hp , etc. That's why Zeus is so powerful in high heat. Able to chip all those layers of defense in rapid succession at range is insanely powerful.

Move your cursor less and try to dash Zag into position instead to begin with. That worked for me until I got gud at pointing my mouse at things. Another thing that worked for me is using the giant circle and crosshair when you hold the special button down to aim initially, release the special, then fire normally and make small adjustments.

As far as I’m aware, hammers are pure rng, and for boons it’s the same (besides the trees for getting higher tier ones from gods). Best you can do is pray to rngesus and reroll them if you don’t like what you see

Zeus has two effects; chain lightning and lightning bolt. The former is on attack and cast, and works well with fast attacks because it procs every time. The latter is on special and dash, and has the cool down.

Delta chamber was garbage before 1.0 but it is really strong now. If you only plan to shoot off dash strikes or 3-6 shots at a time (typically because your special is stronger, like rocket bomb or triple bomb) it's a fantastic supplementary hammer. If you're going all in on the attack with zues/splitting bolt because you whiffed rockets or cluster bomb flurry fire offers higher output though.

Haha, I won my first game with Hazard Bomb and Trippy Shot. I think I had Artemis on special so I was going from (18th run) seeing diddy numbers to suddenly doing 1000+! And I had doom on my attack. It was the second time I beat Theseus, and allowed me to beat dad in one try. Just going absolutely nuts lobbing bombs and trippy shots I had loads of lives left, I haven't had as clean a run as that again and I've just finished the main story - but I've gotten a lot better at using other weapons. It did feel a bit like I won on luck and a little cheesy. Edit: I see I am not alone here...

The rail was really my least favourite when I first used it, it's awkward that you have little mobility when you fire and the special just feels clumsy. But guess what, my first successful escape run was with the rail 😂. It's not at all bad when you get a few Artemis and Aphrodite boons on it and perhaps a few hammers. it can absolutely become an AK47 with heat seeking bullets and a grenade launcher.

I think Hestia is realy well with Spreadfire. Your Powershot is still the normal shot. So when in need to Snipe, just a Reload. I don't know if Delta-Chamber keeps Hestia away from Reloading, but if it does it's an obvious Downgrade to me.

I think it might have been a bug, or something, but in one run I was able to pair hazard bomb and targeting system with artemis special and on a crit I was actually able to hit the damage cap of 9999. I haven't gotten that hammer since in a run (though I haven't been actively looking for it) and they've updated the game twice since then so I'm not sure if it was really a bug and has been patched or not, but it's worth mentioning, I think. edit: I may have also had heartrend, I'm not sure, I don't THINK I did, but it's possible.

Personally im a fan of combining demeter attack delta chamber(or targeting system) , zeus triple special, dyonyisus cast (duos for tantalising feast ice wine and cold fusion) to have fairly safe hefty dmg bursts. For dash to stay sade i usually go athena (stubborn roots if im lucky). Dominantly i use eris

Sadly Spread Fire doesnt affect the "empowered" 1st shot

Dis. Looking back, I've taken spread fire with Hestia before as an almost ok back up when you get many small enemies but I dunno if it would ever be worth taking over another hammer.
