Flaring Spin - You pulse while charge your spin, knocking enemies back and dealing 30 damage (Not great, don't recommend overall)
Triple Jab - Your attack becomes 3 pronged in a spread fashion (Pretty good, recommended with an attack build. Does NOT affect your dash strikes).

this is my favorite weapon and I have to say thank you for the massive amount of Hades content you keep putting out. I'm one of the "bad" gamers who's not good at all at the game and struggle a lot with the fighting but I enjoy playing it badly so much that I just get marginally better and a large part of that is thanks to your advice.

Really surprised you say aspect of Hades is bad. I love it. Just spin enemies that are spawning. Destroy most things that spawn and then attack everything for 150% extra.

I love the aspect. That's exactly what I do. When I know a couple enemies spawn in an area I charge up, even if it's not a full one. The damage bonus stacks great for me if I can get the privileged status.

An interesting (though somewhat niche) benefit to the Spear's spin attack is that it can hit enemies through terrain barriers. This allows you to hide behind pillars/walls and hit enemies from relative safety, particularly with Aspect of Hades. Styx/Elysium/Erebus/Hades stages are some good examples where you can pull it off consistently.

I'm surprised Hades aspect is rated as weak even though it performs really well in high heat runs. It was the only spear aspect to complete 50+ heat before v1.0, and it hasn't been nerfed since then.

You're correct there, it's just a bit narrow of a space: all of those runs were done with Serrated Point which is amazing still of course but I was thinking of it as more of a whole. Perhaps I was a tad harsh but it's also just one opinion.

Yeah I definitely get that it's just one opinion, and I think your video will be really helpful for a lot of players. I do think Hades aspect is strong even outside of that narrow space though - one of the 50+ heat runs is with Exploding Launcher instead of Serrated Point, and there's an older 40 heat run with zero hammers on either attack or special, showing that Hades aspect can handle high heat with just the basic attacks.

@@Haelian How can Hades be narrow? you can do even a slight quarterspin as you describe, and for TEN seconds you get +150% damage for both attacks and special. You can hit spawning enemies easily and then just enjoy +150% free damage, or keep it up with mini spins against bosses for a free +150% damage throughout the entire fight. Did I mention its +150% damage for TEN seconds? You don't even need to make it a spin build... but also you can. So far at 20 heat but I'm going up 1 by 1 to unlock rewards and my runs arent even close.

First: You don't get a buff by just doing a spin; you need to hit the enemies with the spin to apply +150% damage debuff, so you wanna do a big spin to hit as many enemies as possible, not a tiny spin. Second: the debuff only applies to regular attack, not the spin attack, so there's no point in turning it to a spin build. You just read the weapon's text and made something up.

Recommend build for shield I tried earlier: Crystal beam Duo boon that make crystal beam shoot at you Duo boon that make cast do backstab damage And that’s the base of it, its super cheese. Just place your cast then run to the other side of the enemy and hold up the shield.

I thought the point of the Hades aspect was that you only ever use the Spin as a debuff you refresh every 10 seconds. Is it really that big of an issue when most rooms can probably be cleared with 2-4 spins? That said, the aspect would be probably better served if it was a slightly lower, but generic damage modifier, so it affects stuff like Doom and Hangover etc.

Yep, there is, and it pulsates periodically dealing damage around you, but I think it's extremely bad, because you don't want to be spending much time charging your spin anyway, even if you're sturdy.

The pulse fully stun unarmored enemies it hits though, and pulses enough times to keep interrupting them, which helped me cheese through the narrow rooms in Styx

My recommendation for the attacks is to do the dash attacks and then attack 2 times and dash attack again. Much like sword you where you use the special to reset the dash attacks you can use the regular attacks to reset the dash strikes. The nice thing about attacking after using the dash strike is thst you use the 30 base damage attack instead of the 25

My first win against Hades after just having the game a couple days was an hour or so ago with Zag spear and hammer build with the special. Was hitting I think 7 targets and putting doom on all of them with 400% damage to armor. It was real nice.

One of my favourite runs was getting triple jab and flurry jab on Zagreus spear with the Poseidon attack plus the bonus damage from slamming foes into barriers. It just absolutely destroys all non-boss enemies especially in the temple of Styx. It would just take a few seconds to clear entire rooms.

I would like to add that Serrated Point should be an instant S tier on Achilles' Spear. Your dash attack hits three times while being charged by Achilles' bonus damage; however, the game only counts it as one attack. So you can hit 12 times at 150% damage in maybe two seconds. That's insane. On any other spear it's definitely a glass canon, but with Achilles your essentially a tactical nuke.

I love a good Guan Yu spin dash special dash build. You have to manage two ranged projectiles, but try it with some applicator boons on attack, Artemis on special. Tear off armor with mini crits, pressure points, and hide breaker. Then shoot at a marked target and do like 500-2500 crit damage, all in a super fluid motion that even includes dash attacks. Getting a lucky triple hammer run with quick spin, charged skewer, and serrated, is just amazing. Easy even for Guan Yu. Winged Serpent is pretty good, the projectile bounces a bit. You could do something fun with Poseidon where it pushes enemies into walls and rapidly bursts them down.

One absolutely amazing combo is zagreus aspect with exploding launcher, charged skewer, Poseidon special, Poseidon plus Zeus duo, and then Poseidon enhancing boons like rapture and Zeus lightning boons like double strike and bonus lightning area plus jolted. Any legendaries on top of that and you have probably the best AoE in the game

my favorite build for spear is to put poseidon on the attack then get a zues core boon preferably the call and get the duo boon sea storm and that will make have lighting bolts strike enemies everytime you attack. After that you want to get double strike to massively increase your damage and any poseidon boons that buff knock away effects the best one being the legendary. Preferably you want fluury jab as well as attack speed from hermes but it isnt required. and your other two gods can be watever you want but preferably boons that can affect your lightning bolts like presure points.

Guan Yu is an absolute beast with epic Hermes attack; it's only a tad slower than the regular spear attack and does the already great damage (40-60-100). Quick Spin + Winged Serpent is also just super fun to watch the spins fly while you have three of them on screen

@Haelian can you tell me what aspects are the "strongest/fastest" per weapon? And which, lets say 3-5, boons would be recommended for them to achieve their strong builds. Finished 6 Heat on all weapons, having a 19 run streak (got killed by Charon -.- ), now doing 9 heat runs at the moment [2x Extreme Measures, 3x Tight Deadline (going to add Forced overtime when i need more heat)] Right now I'm a huge fan of Poseidon (Sword), Chaos (Shield), Hera (Bow) and Eris (Rail), not sure what to use on spear or fists (i use Guan Yu and Demeter but i am not sure what to build on those) Thanks in advance! =)

I think Achilles just because Guan Yu is quite expensive for Blood. With Achilles, you can do an attack, spin or cast build. Much more versatile.

I don't know if its intentional or not, but Flurry Jab lets you both attack and dash attack at the same time for some reason, allowing you to hit an enemy nearly 3 - 4 times in a split second while also abusing I-frames, and it doesn't even cancel out the normal omni-directional dash attack. You can max stack a Hangover or other "bleed" effect near instantly while barely being hit in return by simply dancing around bosses like an idiot and poking them from 4 meters away.

I feel that the Hades trash is a bit too much :( You can charge it behind walls and still hit your enemies. Personally, I find it much more enjoyable than Achilles, because 10 seconds gives more breathing room than 4 hits.

In a run where i did not upgrade the spear atall basic aspect i got my second win using just the spear special i had zeus on my special and i had the thing that makes it hit seven times and i had jolted and i had double strike and i had bonus damage to armor i think it was my fastest win at 31 minutes in the rat rooms it was 1-3 throws to clear the whole room

can anyone explain what tiers for boons are and what levels are.. its confusing. especially for eurydice items ... i am new and i dunno whats the difference between levels and rarity of boons are and the game never explained it.

I can quickly explain: poms increase the level of boons but have diminishing returns, meaning you get less of a bonus from each level. Rarity essentially does the same thing but is a flat increase. Generally, the first level from a pom is about equal to increasing the rarity of a boon by 1.

It's funny cause I just cleared with Aspect of hades, quick spin, Chain skewer, and a special based build with a metric shit ton of Zeus boons. I got lucky tho, my hermes boon gave me 2 extra dashes, I had reflect dash, and I got splitting bold and leveled up my jolting a ton. I was doing only 3 heat tho.
