As everybody has pointed out the rug is a horse saddle bag made by one of the nomadic tribes in the Middle East (i.e. Persian, Kurdish, Bakhtiari, Baluch, etc.) for their own use, rather than for export. It is, indeed "something good!" You got a real bargain as they sell for very good money!

The woven item at 19:45 looks like a ‘saddlebag’ possibly made in the Middle East... I received a similar piece from friends who told me that these are what the children make as they are learning how to make the hand knotted Persian rugs. This way they can learn the parts of the patterns in a smaller and more manageable size...

I had a souvenir drip glaze pottery deer in the same red as that little Niagara jug, it was McMaster I believe. There was many Canadian pottery companies doing the drip glazes. My grandmother had an extensive BMP collection she was collecting since the 60's.

I'm #5 of 6 behind 2 boys ours had blue trim & it had these wonderful pictures of Little Boy Blue asleep in the hay, the cow jumping over the moon & the dish running away with the spoon. I think. It's been since the 60s. We had a book of nursery rhymes that had the same exact illustrations. I thought the suction cup & deep design would've been great 30 when I had kids kids & today, too. That woven “rug” is either Turkish or Persian judging by its patterns. It is not a saddle bag since the middle bit with knots, in between the pockets, is way to narrow to fit on the back of a horse or donkey. This particular one is used as a shoulder bag, you swing one side to your front, the other side to your back. People used to carry apples etc. whatever they collected from their lands in these.

Right around 19:55, I think the “rug” thing was a Moroccan camel pad. I got a similar one at an auction in southern Wisconsin a few years ago.

I found a praying hand yesterday at a tucson goodwill :) 1 point for me ;). BTW: Single mugs are good for the work place :) I can see a way to collect them. Use them when you’re work at your store, or use them on your late night videos ;)

I work for Goodwill. We have people that take one shoe & leave one. Then they come back & buy the "two" shoes when the big sale happens. Maybe people take the kids to the teapots so they can come back & buy the teapot when it hits the sale.

The saddle bag is like one I bought in the Middle East 25 years ago. It was for camels, not horses!

My Dad lives in a rural town and a block away from the train tracks. Every Christmas some train will come through and toot out a chorus of Jingle Bells. Neat little tradition.

The "crafting broom" is also known as a "besom", especially in Scotland, and is traditionally the broom that witches would ride. In the old days they might be made from heather. I have actually seen them made from willow, and used to sweep paths and the like.

Love that bird piece on the 1st shelf you gals looked at, that was lovely! I still pick up single mugs too lol 😅 What can I say? I like them. And what cute salt & pepper shakers Dagney found! Ok, so speaking of good salt & pepper shakers, I have to share! I never buy s&p shakers, I find that my goodwill overprice them and I'm just not sure which ones are worth getting. However, last month I saw an adorable set of owls wearing top hats and bows, and they looked old enough to catch my eye. Turns out they are vintage Norcrest, and online 1 pair sold for $120 with another currently listed at $170! 😍 Ok, back to the video 😅 Love the daily dose of cuteness too 😁 As always, thanks for sharing! I love watching your thrifting trips. ~Caroline

I Love the way you call certain items "mid century". When I was younger, we called it the 50's. lol I love shopping with you. I've learned the "resale" prices of many things in my house. Tho I'd rather shop, I better sell things from my home first. I've got too much.
