Well, that's definately a climb that wakes you up in the morning but the ridge and views are absolutely amazing ❤️ The colourfull thing was a bit weird in the landscape tough 😅

The ridge and wall were truly inspiring. I was unsure of the colourful art gatehouse at first but it is a full size replica and looking back along the ridge you could see how imposing it was towering over the 3-5 metre wall from miles away. A real sign of strength. 👌

Yeah, there are no showers and only the pub toilets (closed overnight) but it was cheap and there’s nowhere else nearby.

'What have the Romans ever done for us?' You had to get that one in Justin. I'll tell you what they've done for us right there. They've given a cracking national trail. Ha ha! Yeah, that was a good stretch. Enjoyed that. Mark

Fantastic! One of my true bucket list journeys is to walk along Hadrian's Wall...any portion will do. Just one of those things I found so fascinating since learning about them in high school history...and that was over 45+ years ago. Awesomely beautiful! Bruce and Otis

Thanks guys 👍 I was enthralled by the wall, the forts, the landscape, everything. I recently returned to visit most of the forts and museums properly and learn more detail. Glad I did. 👌

Brought back memories of The Pennine Way long ago which included some of this section. Took the detour to see Housteads and was impressed until I went to Herculanium and Pompey just a few years ago. Recommend a visit there for anyone one interested in roman History. Love the Music too. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Jenny. Yes, I saw the Pennine Way marker posts on the high section of the wall. I heard about those remains in Italy too 👌 It’s all Adam’s music who lives half a mile from me. A total coincidence, gotta love KZbin! 🤠

Thanks Jose. The dramatic high section is about 20 miles and remarkable in many ways 👌 Guinness = Black magic 😉

Cheers Micah 👍 I’m not always so cheerful though! The high section of about 20 miles is inspiring. The rest of the walk less so, but I rarely moan about hiking trails. I try to count my blessings. Positivity goes a long way, spread it around! 🤠

Another great video which I was looking forward to. You walked in one day which my son and I took two days to do. But we walked the Wall slowly stopping in the forts, museums and other attractions along the way. We also did some little detours like diverting down after Chollerford to see Chesters Bridge which is well worth it. If you ever get the chance I recommend a slow walk along visiting the forts and other places , it brings this special place to life
@JustinWhiting92 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 I returned recently to show my wife all the special places. We visited Birdoswald, Housesteads, Chesters, Segedunum and Arbeia forts properly and we both loved it. We also went to Carlisle and the Great North Museum in Newcastle which was free and very good indeed. You’re right, it really deepens one’s understanding and respect for what was achieved all those years ago. 👍

Hey, the music is great, eh Paul? Good story about that. This chap commented on my EHW videos, he liked them. I watched a few of his music vids and I liked them too. Turns out he’s called Adam and lives half a mile from me! What are the chances of that? 😂 Links in description to the songs and his KZbin channel. Drop him a message, he’s a great bloke, singer, songwriter and guitarist 🎸 👍 Tell him I sent you!

I had been itching use “Out Like a Light”, (trailer 1) cos it’s a belter! I was saving the excellent “Some Stories” for a video to do it justice. The lyrics and chorus are just brilliant. By the time I reached South Shields I realised I had my own story to tell and when I edited the footage for trailer 2 it was just perfect. I was a bit emotional! Big softy… 😭 😂 🤘
