Thats as good as it gets man. Me and my daughter (15) drove down to lake Aldred on the suskie to make one last try for flatheads. Its a 3.5 hour drive for us, I had to pull over on the turnpike to sleep some on the way down (power nap in the truck lol) when we woke up, there was ice on top of the bait tank! The water was about 50 dag. when we got to the spot to fish. We fished hard all day Saturday and stayed until about 9 pm...we caught 1 flathead that was 5 pounds 10 oz . Soooo to answer your question...HECK YES I would fish in those conditions and love every second of it!!! Your boy will keep those memories for ever. Awesome video man.

I know what you mean about pulling over to sleep. I’ve literally got sick before from being so tired while driving. It’s a bad feeling when your 3 hours from home and can’t hold your head up while driving. All worth it when that monster takes the bait, thanks for watching 👍

Great videos. Love that you prove it can be done in a small boat! You ever get in trouble with the wake from those barges?
@hagengrubbsfishing5 жыл бұрын
k9mick121 thanks and honestly I’ve never seen much wake come from a barge but I keep my distance since I’m in a small boat. There’s a tour boat called rockin thunder that comes by a lot in summer and when he’s loaded he throws a huge wake.
@bbrewer54 жыл бұрын
The barge wakes look way worse from the bank than they really are. The 25-30ft cabin cruisers, and the wake boats make the worst wakes. One of those 26ft cabin cruisers comes up the river at 35mph, you had better hold on if you're in a small boat. Lol

Does that propane heater make a difference, enough to go out and buy one?
@hagengrubbsfishing5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. If there’s a lot of wind it doesn’t help much. But if it is a calm day you will stay warm. I cook on it and everything. Definitely recommend. They have a big buddy now that has fan forced heat. I might have to try one of those. I’ve had mine for over 10 years with no issues. 👍

weather isn't bad if you can still launch a boat. Real winter fishing is through a hole in the ice and the temp is 15 below zero. Only thing through the hole in the ice you catch real fish, not bottom suckers.

Motor is not loud but even if it was that does not make me racist. Some of my best friends are black. You judging me by my truck and calling me a white boy sounds racist to me but doesn’t bother me at all. Good luck to you and god bless. 👍
