This museum NEEDS a youtube channel.. showing new incomming cars, giving history lessons of the pieces they own, restoration vlogs, etc. Doesn't even have to be polsihed edited videos... anything would be amazing... just a few shorts of how they fix stuff and everyone will love it.

I’m thrilled to see how the museum is so closely linked with their community. From having school children visit, to volunteers restoring and finally having estates donate their vehicles, it follows the cycle of life in the century transportation. Great respect !!! What different perspective from those that shutter their cars from public sight, while rust slowly deteriorate them into oblivion.

Had a MK 3000 inline 6 Su carbs etc. One of my alltime favorite body designs like the Shelbys and GT 40s. Oooo Great video. Thanks. They must continue to represent our past. Dandahermit

whats the obsession with family friendly content ,, i find family friendly content everywhere ,,freaking out over the pettiest things does not help kids,, my mother freaked out when i saw a boob in a movie 50 years ago,,, we still laugh about that to this day,, seeing boobs didn't hurt me !!

@@herchelleonwood7463 It's more than just not having obscene or risque content - I would use the word wholesome. There are too many channels on here with idiots doing really stupid things (like purposefully destroying entire vehicles or engines) just to get views. I would also describe that as not family friendly, as I certainly don't want to teach that type of behavior to my children.

Small local museums are the true way of preserving automobiles and automo-bilia for the future. Big city institutions have their place for sure, but for generating interest in any given subject, a 'hometown' facility, well presented and maintained is a key for maintaining interest among those who will never see a Blackhawk Collection, a Nethercutt or a Petersen.

I've been to this Museum several times. They do a fantastic job. Very welcoming. Excellent displays. Very clean. I believe they make wonderful stewards for the future. We go every year in July for the truck and tractor show and I highly recommend it. We collect, restore, and use Wheel Horse tractors. As you can imagine we got a hell of a kick out of the one that the museum has. 5:55.

I'm glad I watched this!!! Now I know I need to change our will and leave nothing to a museum. If I left them a vehicle and found out they sold it I'd be back to haunt them forever. If this guy is telling the truth and they sold 2/3rds of one donation the place should be closed!!!!

First of all I absolutely love you, Tom Carter. Second of all I am so thrilled that you have a second home in Maine and are doing barn. Find hunting up there. And I say up there because you are definitely north of just about everybody in the country, if you’re up a trip down to Foxborough Massachusetts, I have 5/ first GEN Broncos and some 73 to 79 Ford pick ups that you and your viewers might like to see. You are welcome anytime even if you’re not interested in the vehicles you can just stop by if you’d like and we can talk about cars. You’re always welcome into me. You’re just a friend I haven’t met yet but I hope someday I will.

This was great!! I'd never heard of this museum before, but it certainly makes me want to visit it before I die. The rationale of how donated vehicles were selected for restoration, or sale at auction, or for future use was fascinating, as was learning about the volunteers who participate in the efforts of the Thursday Night Restoration Crew. I hope the Museum has a KZbin channel that is used to spread the word on the fundamentals of classic car operation (such as how to start and operate a Model T Ford), maintenance and repair, how to pick vehicles to be restored, how to start a restoration, how to restore specific vehicles that are popular with different groups of enthusiasts, how to use the Internet to find parts and service manuals from sources all over the world, how to make parts or find sources that can make parts to order, etc. A side effort to raise both interest in the Museum and revenue would be either selling the restoration products used at the Museum directly to enthusiasts, or through setting up an Amazon Storefront which had the Museum's recommended tools, guidebooks, procedures, and restoration products available from one source with quick, often free, shipping of products, without tying up the time of museum volunteers and employees. Videos of various stages of actual restorations would also bring in revenue and new supporters of the Museum. If Hagerty could publish an on-line list of these types of museum, which exist all over America, it would encourage the effort to save old vehicles and help promote the efforts of those who take an active interest in vehicle restoration to see who else is involved, and help people with similar interests connect with each other. Such an effort would help people plan day trips, weekend trips and regular vacations around traveling around their state, province, region, or the USA or Canada and Mexico country visiting these types of museums or collections which either open to the public, or to members of special interest groups. Hagerty's support of such efforts would bring in new customers for its insurance products for restored classic vehicles, and create a win-win situation for all involved.

When I was around 16 years old our neighbor around the corner had one of those Jeepsters sitting in his back yard. I kept bugging the family to let me buy it. No sale. It sat for another 30 years. Then one day it just disappeared. The old folks had died and I assume the daughters just sold it off..... At 16 years old that would have been one fun machine to have driven to school back in 1972....
