That interior looks nice to me. Buttons for all functions related to the car, easy climate control, good gauges and carplay with a large enough screen. But I don't buy new cars, so it's not like my opinion really matters!

Having owned the first 86… that torque dip was a challenge. I loved the NA engine, but in daily driving it was very noticeable. A new header and e85 flexfuel kit (I.e. pretty cheap mods) fixed it and made the car SO MUCH better! So this new one still being NA but having decent torque = 🎉🎉🎉😊
@travis54813 жыл бұрын
Great video. As a Miata ND2 owner I am happy to see the BRZ get some of the love it deserves. Also, even happier that I won’t have to hear the awful noise that comes out of the original. I’d just add that, yes, you probably can spend almost 40k on a Miata, but really all the best stuff can be had for right at 30. Club package, LSD, soft top, heated seats, done.

The second-gen BRZ is the most interesting car to come out since... well, the first BRZ/FRS. More power, a lot more torque, same weight, still manual - it's a classic.
@jcramond733 жыл бұрын
I replaced the exhaust system on my 2018 model 86 with a 2.5inch exhaust and high flow cat and as a result the torque dip is gone, better fuel economy and a nice sound to boot. I have no intention to boost the car as I am still happy with an NA engine (owned a few Celicas) and certainly don't regret not having a turbo or supercharger.
@Elite28323 жыл бұрын
Yeah I got a UEL header and full 2.5" exhaust with a tune and the car drives much better torque dip is hardly noticeable. I think If you buy one of these cars and leave it stock your kind of missing the point of owning one.

Ed, you are right. It is much better looking in person. It looks lower, too, than in the pictures. I crawled all over it at the Los Angeles auto show (Nov ‘21). Driver’s seat is excellent. Feels like it will keep you in place in the turns. I initially thought the 215 tires might be too narrow but after seeing the car I think that the 215/40x18 size look appropriate. The fact that you have driven one got my attention because there is not one new BRZ at any of the five San Diego county Subaru dealers (Jan. ‘22). Let’s hope the dealers aren’t going to be disgustingly greedy like the Chevy dealers are with the C8 Corvette.

People keep complaining that Subaru/Toyota should have gone turbo and that this car is "slow" even with the new engine, despite being 1,1s faster 0-100; but I see NOBODY complaining that the current MX5 is too slow, even though the new BRZ and GR86 are gonna be faster... PS: nearly shed a tear at 5:00 - 5:40 ; this made me realize just HOW much we lost in the car world and whenever I hear "cars have NEVER been better!"
