Us non-farmers can understand the feelings you may have with the hardships, because growing up watching Little House on the Prairie. I am a new viewer. I am most struck by seeing the expanse of your land and how the cattle is spread apart. I thought they would be hanging out closer together. Best wishes in 2024.

My buddy prayed as the hail storm started his way. It rode down the perimeter fence of his property line. Wiped out the crops of his neighbor, and left his side of the fence untouched. Prayer works!

Well.......this is farming......its also about planning ! Been farming for 45 years. The financial end.......is also about planning. Its not about praying. As a farmer we understand " most " of the risks involved. Sometime mother nature is cruel. But.... if planning is involved..........most times there is money to be made...and a future !

@@jerrylansbury9558I am a Christian Farmer, not an Atheist Farmer. In my world, God helps those who seek His help. A person would have to be an idiot not to plan - of course, that's part of it. But having faith in God is foremost as long as there have been farmers. Statistics prove that the majority of farmers are God-fearing people who also plan. So when you say "It's not about praying.", you are denigrating the faith that keeps us going. Just saying.

Hey Mike! The power of prayer works! 🙏🙏 So glad your hay crop is okay.... I hope it stays that way! I grew up in Lincoln County Minnesota We had a hail storm go through in the mid '60's. My Dad and a neighbor saw a hail stone the size of a bushel basket! The crops were beat into the ground, animals killed, trees were stripped of their leaves and small branches. windows broke, cars & tractors beat to heck. We were at swimming lessons at the lake and my Uncle (our Red Cross director) got us all on the school buses and up to the school we went. We could hear the new windows in the school breaking....we were all scared out of our wits. My brother's bed had hail on it! 😳 So glad when a bad storm is predicted, anywhere, and it doesn't happen. That is a miracle. Keep safe Mike, Erin and everyone! 🙏 Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🐄🐂🐃

Mike, Glad to see y'all are okay. When you showed the satellite view of the storm, I looked for a hook echo. Didn't see any, I knew you were going to be okay (no tornado). We live in central Oklahoma, tornado alley. I hate tornadoes to a passion!! I've learned to watch for certain things which in the sky, and on the satellite that will cause a tornado. Especially after living through an F5 with winds beyond 220MPH. Now extreme winds, hail, and rain can cause just as much severe damage to property, hay, gardens, animals, vehicles, homes, barns, ect... Thank goodness y'all, your animals, and property are okay!!!! Prayers always help ❤

The hail and thunder was the worse I have ever known. A house up the road was struck by lightning and rushing outside to get my daughters in from their play house we saw the tornado. Luckily it touched ground and quickly dispersed. The power of the weather is incredible and you dealt with this so calmly. I was a quivering wreck! I live in Wright about 30 miles south of you. It was pretty crazy down here. I had my family hunkered down with funnel clouds over the house. NARM is 15 miles from us and it was a wild ride for sure. I work at the Campbell County hospital and went to work on emergency call in. We were lucky that no major injuries or deaths occurred. The weather this year has been so unusual. Hope you can get an amazing hay crop this year with the rain and cool temperatures.

We had some hail, and like with you it split and went around us. Tornadoes, were elsewhere, several of them caught on camera. LOL Cows....butts to the rain, that's pretty much how they deal with stuff. Glad nothing ugly came your way and all, including the animals are okay.

We got that same storm in SE Idaho. We had just set up for Farmers Market when the Great Nothing started rolling in. We missed the hail and 60 mph winds too. It rained heavy for about an hour but the Market and Whoopee Days Rodeo were a go. Scary Stuff. We were worried about our garden too. We just survived the frost just a few days earlier.

I am glad to hear you got some important rain but no catastrophic hail. We as watchers are still awaiting news about Bambi and Ethyl. How are they doing?

Glad the bad part of the storm missed ya’ll! I’m from Ohio but was near Custer, SD on Friday. I was there for a week at a horse camp. Pulled out Friday morning a bit earlier then planned to beat the storm!
