Here it is - my new Upstead edit! I loved 8x04 in general. I liked the way the case was mirroring Hailey's situation and all the thoughts she had going on. It was done very well. I also liked seeing a familiar face from Revolution.
I didn't like Hailey's actions in the end - I think the trust and the love she and Jay have for each other should've stopped her from lying. But I also feel like she needed to free herself from the presure Jay was putting her under. I'm not defending her - she was in the wrong. I just feel like I can understand why she didn't want to see her dad - it's her choice, she doesn't need to hide the way she feels.
I didn't include the scene from the beginning (OH THAT SCENEE), because I will make another edit about it, so stay tuned!
This video is not my best work, but I wanted to put something together now that we are finally getting more about Hailey's background which to me is very interesting. Soo enjoy!
P.S. I have a question - do you see the little black flashes that appear from time to time? Do you have any idea how can I get rid of them?

Look at how jay reacted to hailey telling him to take step back bs hailey being pushed to see her dad. It is so hard to confront an abuser and takes tons of help and time. And you really need to be ready cuz it stirs up tons of stuff..she wasnt ready... and that's ok. Jay should understand and will. The "lie" was protective mechanism cuz she just could not go there yet!

I really like this, the way you summarize Hailey's story. And you know I think Hailey reacted instinctively, Jay was pushing her a bit (in a good way) and she tried but she's not ready to get close to her dad and that's totally understandable. I'm sure Jay would have understood but she probably didn't want to talk about it anymore. Thank you very much for a wonderful video.

Um wow, this video was AMAZING! How can you say this wasn't your best work?! You've told Hailey's story (what we know of it so far...) SO well through this video and have shown how the closeness she has with Jay might just be the thing to help her deal with her past and start moving forward....you know, just like she did for Jay a few seasons ago when he finally dealt with his PTSD from the army and emotional issues from when Erin left him. I feel like this past week's ep has set up another episode or two down the line in S8 for Hailey to finally be able to put her past behind her and that Jay is gonna be a huge part of helping her through it (parallels....these writers LOVE doing that for Upstead). You did a fabulous job with this video and I love it so much! Can't wait to see your video that includes that opening scene though...that scene about melted down my TV the other night, LMAO ;) #Upstead
