I can't see how this wouldn't scratch the shit out of the car when inflating, especially if car isn't spotlessly clean from A-Z and back. Be good if there was something permanently inflated like this for those that don't mind using the storage space, but foldable to a degree. For those saying the exposed areas are problems, they are not actually with the way big hail falls (the type that can actually dent a car). This will definitely protect it from dents.

We just had a whale of a hail storm here in Calgary ! And I can tell you with-out exaggerating...nobody could have set that up this "inflatable protector" in the rain-storm that preceded the hails arrival in the time it swept in like a monsoon over the whole city ! This woman looked so calm setting it up in the sunshine with no wind.Can you imagine doing it in a maelstrom of wind rain and hail ? Good luck !.

I don't know about you local news stations up in Calgary. But here in Texas the news stations will give you a good 3 hrs notice if the weather is going to be bad and even before it starts reining. It would give you plenty of time to set this device up. Most have live weather radar so you can look at the incoming weather front.

How do you control the hail to be unidirectional ?

Not sure the hail impacted that car as hard or fast as real hail from the sky would with the speed and velocity from hundreds of feet. The test IMO is not valid.

It takes too long to put it on and take it off. You gotto put it on before you go to bed at night bcs once the hail are coming down it is too late to put it on.

According to the US Weather service, "As is typical of severe weather, most significant hail of all sizes occur during the afternoon and early evening hours." If severe weather is in the area, put the cover on before going to bed.

The trouble with all of these hail protectors, is the ridiculous amount of time it takes to put it on. Hail storms pop up fast. I doubt you would have time to deploy this before being caught in it.

It would be better if it were made with a box style baffles instead of having it glued to itself like that. If hail hits in between the inflated portions, it would still cause damage.

Hail just does not fall straight down in a clump like that. I could see high winds lifting the sides of this shield and causing hail damage in the unprotected areas. Also, I noticed this video does not show the car after the demo to verify there was no damage. I find that suspicious.

This type cover would probably protect against 95% to 97% of all hail storms. It looks like the straps would hold it in place.
