I agree. A lot of the influencers have horrible practices: misguiding titles, bullying habits, bad taste, bad sense of humor, cheap analysis, etc. Two examples: The Time Teller and Federico Talk Watches. This one is one of the best, along with the Kotsa channel.

These guys are from my hometown. I should pay them a visit. They offer face to face appointments. It is a good practice followed by Chicago microbrands. Oak and Oscar do the same, and they also have a beautiful dog!

After watching this I did some research on the titanium because I was wondering how they polished grade 2 titanium and that's what this is, apparently TA2 is just the industry designation for grade 2. I always heard g2 wouldn't take a polish but somehow they did it. On their website they mention they add a scratch resistant coating and that's my biggest gripe with grade 2 Ti. Great review, these are my types of watches here.

Ya maybe the whole grade 2 titanium can’t be polished thing is a myth 😂 got to look into it more. I didn’t know an extra hardening coating was applied since that wasn’t in the pre release info but it is nice to see that extra step was taken!

@nefville initially I wasn't going to harden it as it causes changes in color and would impact the finish a bit. After some additional research, there's a way to harden it at HV1200 and still keep the appearance similar to the prototype.

Would have preferred a no date model, but a color matched date wheel is a HUGE plus. I love the watch, and dammit Xavier, you're gonna drive me into the poor house!

@@alanwu6243 ophion defitnly a little better for case because that one is more hand shed and much more soft and rounded which I think just looks pretty. But the dial actually wins here. More readable. Also 1/3 the price

It’s not a guilloché dial. This is a stamped dial. Quite cheaply done in fact.

Guilloche styled dial, never said it was true rose engine cut guilloche and at this price point I assume most people would assume it’s stamped.

@@wildcard7649 usually the depth of the pattern and the cleanliness of the cut. True guilloche can’t really be done at this price because the machines are expensive and no one really has them anymore outside there big companies the cheapest true guilloche I’ve seen is about 3k from atelier wen

The Guilloche is done via stamp. CNC or hand Guilloche would set the watch's MSRP to 2.5 times the current cost at a minimum. That being said, the current method is not done "cheaply". Even with stamping, the pattern has deep grooves that are more of a challenge to accomplish with a stamp. Plenty of stamped examples exist out there that offer no depth at all to the pattern. And the difference is substantially noticeable. Cheers!
