Just to clear a few misconceptions about Singapore. 1) it is not in China 2) even though majority of the people in Singapore is chinese, it is NOT a chinese country. Buzzfeed left out that Singapore is made out of four races: Indian, Malay, Eurasian and Chinese.

another misconception about Singapore 3) Their food are just carbon copies of Malaysian food. None of their food will exist if Malaysia did not exist.

I'm telling you guys... this dish is the real deal. It is amazing in all forms. I was born/raised in the Philippines. I have never had bad Hainanese chicken. I've had it in night markets in Singapore, food stalls in the Philippines and high class restaurants too. This dish is just hands down one of my favorite non-Filipino dishes of all time

@Melani M how does it compare to tinola? I assume it has same flavors.
@naomic23532 жыл бұрын
solacechannel Very different for me! The sesame oil and scallions reeeeaaallly makes a difference + the other sauces that come with chicken rice. Tinola is usually flavored with patis (which I love) but I’m not a fan (even if it’s made from those spring chickens with the yellow fat hahaha like the ones u can find in the province, i think u know what i mean haha!). Different flavor profiles in my opinion!

Ylendeth I hope the best for you. I hope your family loves you. I hope they cherish you and fill your mind with more love for others. I hope that you are able to overcome your negativity as well. Please keep in mind that many may not have come on their own accord, and even on their own will, they may have been dealing with issues of resentment with their own country such as yourself. I understand that you’re mad and frustrated, but lashing a stranger out will do nothing in ceasing the anger you hold (especially when you target a sole person). I wish the best for you and your future. 💗

Hello Nikki from Singapore. I often watch your vids and am thrilled to learn that you are made in Singapore, just like me, haha. I am going to try out your sauces as I have not made them from scratch before. I used to make chicken rice from scratch when I studied in the UK back in the 90s: the ginger-garlic-sesame fragrance of the chicken and the rice was a strong reminder of home during those long, cold winter nights. The other tenants in my block would comment on the lovely smells coming out of my flat. Keep the food vids coming!

I am Hainanese and thank you so much for sharing this dish here. I am from the town where Hainanese chicken or Wenchang-nese chicken originated. The way we cook it is more simple than what is shown here. The key is to have the best home raised chicken. My family raise chicken using rice while you can also use sweet potato. If the chicken skin is yellow means it is raised using corn, which doesn’t make much difference flavor-wise

@sugizotakuro5 жыл бұрын
if you are scared, then try to eat one first. you'll manage to get the base taste. then you try to make it depending on the recipe. you may combine several recipes into one. maybe one time isn't enough, try several times. but start in small batches. for me, i like what i cook generally, but to be perfect as the one i copied, must be perfected several times. i bet you'll manage it. chinese food is much simpler rather than malay or indian with those long list of spice. hahaha.

Jaisha26 ya it's made that way considering how big the chicken is and the sesame oil is one of the essentials to the chicken

I am a Indian who lived in Singapore for 5 years. This is one of my favourite dish. I can eat it all day without any complaints. I had chicken rice in various hawker stalls in Singapore but never had bad chicken rice though some were average. You can never go wrong with chicken rice in Singapore. This is easy on stomach and tasty 😋
