Hi mate. Looking to do something similar on the cab of my boat. Are u fiberglassing over both sides the ply and mount it in with the ply fully glassed?? Or are you just using the ply to make the shape then remove the ply and use the glass? Does my question make sense. I obviously know next to nothing about fiberglassing but I'm looking to have a go and learn.

I laminated the two pieces of apply together to achieve the angle with the two bits of ply laminated together they will keep their curve I then fibreglass over both sides of the ply using fairing on the outside to get it flat lots of sanding eccetera the internal just gel coated with flowcoat windows are perspex screw to the front a better idea would be to incept them to the depth of the clear or tinted plastic. Buy rooting out the depth hope this is enough information if not please contact me again kind regards Tony

The pod bracket you are building I am guessing is just a mold which you reinforced on motor mount and transom mount faces? I am looking to build something similar in the very near future and looking for inspiration and ideas.

Yes I made the mould out of white Lenny panel that you would make a kitchen out of it does a great job gives you a very smooth finish and is cheap anything else you need to know you can give me a call if you like 0419 244 512 kind regards Tony

Great job mate, I also have put a pod on the back of my boat, but found that it is way to ass end heavy whilst sitting on the trailer. Did you find the same? And if so what did you do to correct this?
@ragebrothersadventures1820
@ragebrothersadventures1820 2 жыл бұрын
No have no problems with rare and heaviness find the boat is very balanced I know some people do put some weight up the front about 30 odd kilos to level out on the water but I have not had to do that. Have not looked at your boat to see how your pod was made mine or up probably came to about around about 58 to 62 kilos roughly

After putting the pod on to the 17 I believe by far it's a far better boat.

@@ragebrothersadventures1820 yeah no doubt, I love my pod, I have a 5m sunchaser, with the 115 behind her. Sits beautifully in the water and heaps of room now. (Without splash well) it's just getting her to the water which is my main concern, as it sticks roughly 1 meter over the trailer then motor out another little bit. Was thinking about converting trailer to a dual Axel, but not too sure on if that will make much of a difference. Just curious if you had to modify your trailer at all
@ragebrothersadventures1820
@ragebrothersadventures1820 2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewpeck6491 yes Matt definitely looking at modifying my trailer I'm probably on maximum tire pressure but as I do not have to travel very far to boat ramps etc has not been a big priority at this stage always on the lookout for a secondhand trailer to obtain the dual wheels off.

Hi mate love the work you’ve done on the little hunter, Rex hunt once said these hills were the best he’d ever ridden in. I was just wondering what layup schedule you used for your wave breaker cheers
@ragebrothersadventures1820
@ragebrothersadventures1820 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke, I used 450 chop strained on the internal, and I used 8 ounce two layers on the external and then filled with you sell send it back that's a hard way to do it a mould would have been easier, but you have to make them all first. Good luck with your lay up. Let me know how it turns out. Kind regards Tony
