My mother, Nada Simić, was the leading star of 'HAIR' in former Yugoslavia, current day Serbia, between 1969-73. She was the opening for each song - for 'Aquarius', they had her in a meditation pose, with flowers in her hair, pouring her heart and soul into each rhythm and beat. We attended the 50th anniversary of the musical last year in May, here in Australia. Not only were we both brought to tears by the phenomenal performance, but I got to experience, for those 2 hours, what a glimpse of life was like half a century ago. I felt a spiritual presence take me over, as I was incredibly moved by the elements of my mother's life and how humanity, as a whole, lived and breathed in harmony throughout that period in history. Greetings from my mother and I in Australia - she still sings to this day and she's almost 70 years old!

I grew up in NYC, on the Upper West Side, a few blocks away from the parts of Central Park where this was filmed, and where I walked my adored childhood dog, Dynamite, every day. So many reasons--not to mention the singer's GORGEOUS, deeply moving voice--to love and be touched by this beautiful song, and all the hope it contains...a very different time...!

I think that this movie Hair was a great production and I think that the movie tells alo;t about that time and how hard it was for them. I cried at the end of the movie. I could not belive how fantastic this movie turned out to be. It was a success! I was blown away by the songs, the dancing and the acual movie it's self! This movie, Hair, is by far my favorite movie of all time! If you have not watched this movie, you have to! It is a must see! Double thumbs up! five out of five stars! :)

WhiteDogTherapy We are still in Piscean Age for around another 500 years+- until we enter the age of Aquarius. Astronomers somehow divided the zodiac into 12 equal signs instead of 13 signs with links equal to which constellation the sun rose at the spring equinox. Some constellations span longer time periods than others. The sun will rise in the constellation of Aquarius around March 2565. YMMV. So yeah, 50 years ago people were anticipating the *dawning* of the Age of Aquarius, not the Age of Aquarius.

Ren Woods rocks - what a voice. Always hated this song til I heard her do it. Wow!!! Currently reading Twyla Tharp's bio (she choreographed this film). She said most frustrating part of this film was Milos Foreman, brilliant that he was, forgot to take into any account any dance training or experience for leads. So Savage,Williams and D'Angelou couldn't really dance tho' they tried - esp. Williams. She ended up using most of her own dance company as the dancers since the leads couldn't keep up. What a great voice Woods has - she's the best part of this sequence in film. BRAVA Ms. Woods! Peace. MER
