Does this formula provide detangling properties? If not, which ingredient would be used for this?

love your videos please upload more . I normally use BTMS for my emulsifiers and Cetearyl Alcohol why so many humectants are needed for sensitive skins? is it bec they need more moisture ?
@Makingcosmetics8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Humectants are for the product and for the skin. If you leave the bottle open the product doesn't dry out so fast when humectants such as glycerin are added. Plus some such as glycols bring the freezing point down, important for shipping/stability.

I like your videos so much better when you talk. Does it matter if the oil is added to the water or if the water is added to the oil?

May I ask, if I ended up adding too much citric acid and brought it lower than Ph5.5, then what am I suppose to add back to the formula?
@Makingcosmetics7 жыл бұрын
If the conditioner is not separating by the low pH, you can leave the pH at

So as a conclusion, if it happens to be lower than 5.5 because I accidentally added too much citric acid, then I can choose to leave it as long as it doesn't separate, right? On the other hand I could add TEA by drop to bring it back up closest to 5.5. Any natural alternative to TEA? Thank you

Yes anything above 4.5 should be okay for the formulation. As an alternative, if you want to increase the pH you can add sodium hydroxide (it's a strong alkaline), make a 10% solution, then adding it drop wise to the conditioner until the pH is up to 5.5.

Ethylhexylglycerin is the preservative in this formulation but it is not broad spectrum.
@Makingcosmetics8 жыл бұрын
Caprylyl Glycol EHG Blend can be used to boost preservative system but can also be use alone, especially when the product is stored free of contamination. Plus since it's not a preservative it can be used in products for a preservative-free claim.
@catarinatang9807 жыл бұрын
So that means I can use this EHG alone? at what percentage? and how long could it preserve my cosmetic? Because as for some reason, when I checked with your inquiry team, I told them how I'd like to use your natural citrus preservatives, they told me to get this EHG as well.
@Makingcosmetics7 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the formulation and the ingredients some ingredients such as proteins are more prone for microbial growth and we suggest using a commercial preservative and not just the caprylyl glycol EHG. If you follow GMP guidelines, and the product contains a gelating agent as well, is packaged in a pump device with minimal contamination the caprylyl glycol EHG can work alone at 1-2%. Microbial testing will need to be done, a few times within 3 months.

There is no explanation and this looks hard.
