Dissapointed that you suggest collagen in this otherwise lovely recipe.It's a disgusting ingredient made from the connective tissues hides, hooves cartilage of brutally slaughtered animals. It's a way for the evil meat industry to gain profit from waste. Yuck man!

Studying and using herbs for decades. Have served 1000s of herbal customers. These herbs can also be steeped in a strong tea and used as a rinse making sure to focus on thinned areas of scalp. You wouldnt need them all. Lemonbalm is sedating. I would only add that herb when you are going to sleep. Be careful with that one. You may also want to look up any side effects or cautions that are easy to find on healthline before consuming. Spraying rosewater on the scalp and hair before bed is also helpful.

Nettles are fabulous. I started taking nettle tea (I'm a redhead bleeder) and smashed my finger and expected to bleed for 1/2 at least. Not only did I stop bleeding in about 5min, but the wound closed up very fast. Nettles are amazing, my fingernails got twice as thick. I don't take most of the blood thinners that some people take, and beware that raspberry leaf has to be wilted before you can eat it. I take comfrey (I know, it's controversial) for arthritis, thyme (for allergies) and various other herbs. Violet or violas are great for anyone with arthritis. I also do most of my diet raw for the same reason--that it's easier to absorb the minerals. Nettles and raspberry leaf is a must for anyone who is pregnant or malnourished. There are many foods that are inflammatory, but I drop them out rather than take anti-inflammatory herbs. Protein is great for brains for kids! The more protein, the brighter the child! You can get fish collagen, but comfrey does much of the same thing that collagen does. When i started eating comfrey all my arthritis and joint issues disappeared. Yes, it got a bad rap from an experiment where they fed rats the equivalent of 6lbs a day and they developed benign tumors. What hit the papers was that comfrey caused cancer! Eat well, live well.

I'm sure it's fabulous if you're not allergic. If I drink tea from dried nettles I get eczema around my mouth and my entire body starts itching and I get hives, and it gives me really bad asthma. But yeah, yay for the rest of you I guess... 😔
@TracyD2
@TracyD2 Жыл бұрын
@@TarotOverOracle you could replace the nettle with bamboo or horsetail tea and dandelion. If you are so inclined. Bamboo or horsetail has the silica and dandelion has the sulfur. Actually dandelion has ton of other beneficial chemicals as well. Yeah nettles can be switched out is basically what I’m trying to say. Yikes a rash around your mouth. What did it do your insides?

Can i just say, in regatds to Alfalfa, if you have high blood pressure be wary of the use of this herb; as it was mentioned by Kathrine that it helps with circulation. Reason being, some people take Asprine to thin the blood, so taking Alfalfa as well may have an impact, so do check with your doctor.

Hello, and I have to report that I've been following your channel and learning a lot, thank you! I only wash my hair very two weeks, (non sulfate) use a bore bristle brush, made a cornstarch, and ginger (I'm blonde) dry shampoo, sleep with it up in a silk scrunchie, and use rosemary oil. I think my hair is thicker, not breaking and is softer and has grown about 2 inches in about 3 months time. I condition it with rice water AFTER I wash it and it is curlier than ever, and soft. I'm learning a lot and I appreciate the help.

With 9 ingredients and being a single parent,,, it would be hard to even afford this,, my income is like $1500. a month. so, it's a honest answer, i wish i could just go order the whole lot and make it right away. frustrating time for people with low incomes. thank you for sharing your recipe.

there are blends available from major brands that contain at least 3-4 of the ingredients, keep a list of herbs on you at the grocery store and read the back of boxes until you find one that fits. most cost ~5 as box. do some thinking and you'll find your world a lot less limited by your current situation, the individual ingredients aren't even that expensive if you dont mind non-organic or have access to a local herbalism shop (they often sell herbs by the oz at low cost)
@sarasynfox
@sarasynfox Жыл бұрын
Low income single parent to low income single parent, I second checking out the tea section at your local grocery shop. Even if you can't get all the ingredients in one tea, if you're a tea drinker throughout the day you can replace a lot of your water intake with tea. From what I know, it's better to way overseep it for an infusion, but that can sometimes make herbal teas taste bitter, so the effects may not be quite as strong, but it should still make an impact. I also find getting stuff like this, if I can find a decent supplier, I can sometimes get bulk items one at a time and build up my stock that way. I may not be able to do it as often due to cost, but I've found even occasional use of herbals in the past was a benefit, so that may be a way to squeeze it in your budget that's a little more friendly to your needs. And no judgment if this doesn't work for you. I know what it's like to be stretched too thin to even add one item to my weekly shop, even if it is just a box of tea, but I'm hopeful some of this will at least offer you more options or ideas on how to include this in your budget.

Id say the most important ingredient is nettle. You can take the trip to forrest with the your kid and collect them yourself. It's free and it would be great experience and activity for you and your kid. Nettle grown in forrest is far superior to any store bought and it doesn't contain any pesticides.

As someone that is low income and actually powders some of these and capsules for various reasons, think about bulk purchasing over time. You can order many, if not all of them from vitacost, and things like horsetail were 15 dollars per pound, I think lemon balm was 17 last time I ordered it, and red raspberry similar. She is calling for 1-2 ounces for most, so even if you saved up what you could while using your red raspberry leaf that you mentioned using while pregnant, watch for sales (they have them pretty often), and buy a few, but just enough to get free shipping. Then use that mix while saving for the next batch. They might have smaller amounts available as well, it just typically makes sense for me to go ahead and buy a pound to use over several years. 1 pound of a dried and sifted herb for tea is typically about the size of a gallon jar (I use gallon jars from pickles). Vitacost is also owned by kroger, so you might be able to get some of them there. I use both Frontier and Starwest brands, and know that Starwest sells smaller quantities on their website. But I do agree about nettles..... they are often found near wild blackberries that would also taste lovely in place of something like the rose petals that are the only things on this list I wouldn't know about. And if you take any vitamins or supplements, Vitacost is an awesome option to lower your costs for such items. Before I started buying bulk and capsuling I was buying vitacost brand supplements because I couldn't afford to buy them from any of the local stores.

Try sea buckthorn, sea moss and bamboo leaf/powder. I really love oat tops as well. If you are on a strict budget, try those. Sea buckthorn is one of the highest in vitamin C and also has a crazy amount of vitamin and minerals. It has biotin. It has omega 7. Sea moss has 98 vitamins and minerals I believe. Humans have the natural capacity to synthesize collagen if eating a well-rounded nutritious diet. We only need a collagen supplement if we have a metabolic or physiological condition impeding our body's natural ability to produce collagen.

Hi! Can you explain the taste please?
@melissamelissa2603
@melissamelissa2603 Жыл бұрын
@@suzupetal for some one that isn’t used to a somewhat earthy/herby flavor and has never tasted nettle before, I recommend trying a sip and also cooling your tea all the way down and adding your favorite cream and also your own favorite Unheated honey. It of course tastes somewhat similar to mint tea because it’s got the peppermint in it. It used to be in very common use because it’s great like homegrown high quality vegetables. People knew of its nutrients density. I cannot explain the flavor adequately here, however it’s closest to a lot of other green herbs with different properties and the flavor is somewhat mild in comparison to mint. It can be mixed with other things until the taste is just to your liking and mixing full fat cream without carrageenan and other cheap+ toxic fillers, makes my nails a lot thicker. Nettle is very popular in traditional recipes for soup and veggies because you can sprinkle it in like parsley. I don’t know what genetics you have, or what you will think of the flavor, however this is how I find the flavor and how it’s generally used by me. I’m a fan of cilantro and I understand because of genetics, that some people are and some people are not. I have no idea, if that’s supposed to have anything to do with whether or not you would like the flavor of nettles or the other herbs in this tea. I don’t know how would exactly effect you or your taste buds, but I think you will be happy if you try it with the right thing for you, to get your desired ratio of the right flavors. Maybe try getting the different herbs and experimenting? I personally find it’s got a sort of grassy flavor?

I am so grateful to be able to use this recipe to assist me in growing my hair. As I have been blessed to get older I noticed my hair appears to be shorter and thinner. Thank you for sharing this information with us which I know will result in me having healthier and longer hair.

Good morning@@Tootsie99 Actually aging is natural but getting old is a choice. The blessing is being able to age knowing that you are as young as you feel.

Thank you, dear Katherin, I will surely learn it and drink and teach it all the people that will say me, they see the differece. I love herbs, eat them like a salad and drink them in teas and smoothies, but never in concentations and time of its infusion, allthough the most of the tim from a french press like a coffee or like you. Thank you, my dear!

Want to try this for sure. Do you ever heat the tea up? I am not a fan of cold tea unless it’s summer of course. It’s 17 degrees here in Wisconsin lol

Love this, and it's super helpful and interesting, but I do have one pet peeve: vitamin is a word with a technical meaning. Not everything that is good for us is a vitamin, just as not everything that is good for us is a mineral. The beneficial aspects of these herbs are due to the naturally occurring phytonutrients, terpenes, alkaloids, and minerals - but probably not to any significant vitamin content. The vitamins are well known and well categorized as A, D, E, K (fat soluble), and C and all of the Bs (water soluble).

Nice! I enjoy blue pea flower powder, mixed with other teas or warm milk and honey. Also, you got me off shampoo. I still use conditioner and Castille soap, but I have plans on making my own hair care. Love the tips! When I began experiencing thinning and loads of shedding while on a holiday in Thailand in 2019, I despaired. My hair is still thin, but it's shiny and dark- so that's good:)

hi, so you use castille soap instead of shampoo?? do you use a bar or a bottle of the liquid soap. do you use that well-known bronners soap??? it doesn't dry your hair???? do you just use a tiny bit??? thank you,,, this is pretty new, to me.
@misschris325
@misschris325 Жыл бұрын
@@JustMe-gs9xi Yes, I use the liquid Bronners soap- the hemp tea tree one in this instance. I use a small amount, about 2tsp. If I don't use conditioner or an apple cide vinegar rinse it tends to leave the hair greasy, from the coconut oil. I also use a few drops of rosemary oil on my scalp right after. I'm still trying to thicken my hair, but at the very least, it is shinier and smoother than ever!

Rosemary & green tea strengthens hair hair and helps reduces shedding. I brew it as a tea and use it as a final hair rinse before drying & styling.
@misschris325
@misschris325 Жыл бұрын
@@LRH1 Interesting! I'll have to try it. I've been oiling with rosemary and cutting my hair washing to once a week. It's not greasy or smelly, like it was in the beginning. It reminds me of when I stopped using deodorants and soap on my underarms- after a month, the body adjusts and the odor dissipates. But yeah, I'm totally going to try a green tea spritz- maybe add apple cider vinegar, too?

Thank you so much young lady for sharing. I've always had beautiful hair and it always grew quickly when cut short, several times in my life to my waist, however, it's very fine, even though I had lots of it, so it looked thick. Now, that I've aged, there's less of it. I will have to try your recipe. I was glad to see Nettle Leaf in the recipe, as it is one of the most nutritious herbs you can brew as a tea.

Thank you so much for this terrific information I’m going to try it right away your hair is gorgeous. I just mention in passing in case you care the pronunciation of HERB is without the sound of H. It actually sounds like ERB. Not HERP. So the pronunciation would be herbal without making the H sound. It’s a very basic pronunciation. That’s why I mention it. I’m really blessed by your recipe and thank you so much.

Thanks for your kind words. :) Actually, it is only Americans who omit the "H" sound in herbs. In British English (which spills over to Canada, where I am from) we do pronounce the "H".

@@KatherineSewingno not true with all do respect, in Europe they don't use the "H"...you know like Hors D'eovres is French or the name Henry...but in America we don't use it either, lol words like hour, heir, honest...
