Thank goodness a hair dresser is against the whole natural oil movement 😂 all these people wanna grow their hair and complain of hair loss when they are just clogging the pores on the scalp and causing more damage than good. The cleaner the follicles the better! The hair does not need lubrication to come out of your head 😂 it grows so slow that it doesn’t even matter. And also people will use dry shampoo so they don’t have to wash their hair as often but it’s literally soaking up the oils and leaving you with product on your scalp and can you tell me how that’s better than cleaning your scalp and CONDITIONING your hair more often? ITS NOT 😂 great video by the way! Love your Chanel!

Ay is head and shoulders that bad? I have seb dermatitis and ever since I stopped using it my hair did a complete 180 me, and I believe it’s ever since I stopped using it, I switched to “higher end shampoo” for men like ones that cost 20$ and more my hair got oily and dry at the same time, I would admit my hair was oily when I used head and shoulders but I believe it was because I would use it every day with no conditioner no mask nothing, just the shampoo, now would you agree that head and shoulders is only good for people that have a scalp conditioner like seb dermatitis?

Sir with no disrespect a lot of the shampoos and conditioners that are sold in your salon and others have the oils that you are condemning coconut, argan and jojoba are all oils that are found in the salons, drug stores, and grocery stores. They have some benefits or the companies that your raving about wouldn't use them. Thanks for the tips they are useful for us all.

I'm 29, and why the hell did I only learn how to not scrub the s@#! out of my hair with a towel and only shampoo my scalp ONLY two years ago!!! Where did it all go wrong!!!! I'm really glad there are ppl out here educating, because it ABSOLUTELY makes a difference! I can never go back to a non silk pillow case (I had to for a week when I went back to France from the US where the pillows are not the same size... within a week I went to a fabric store to buy silk and sewed one up cause my hair was NOT having a cotton pillow case ever again !! 🤣). ANYWAYS! For anyone reading listen to these! it makes 100% difference, products and preferences aside what Mike is saying are FACTS!

I think everyone has made these typical mistakes at one time or another. After all, mothers have always rubbed the children's hair dry, which is quite a nasty procedure. I have also straightened damp hair with an iron in the past and it has steamed terribly. Air drying or an ionic hair dryer on cold setting is the best I would say. Apply shampoos only to the scalp and conditioner only to the lengths. Where I have a demand is the ponytail / braids wear. I have very long hair but never wear it down during the day. It bothers me in the face, during sports, etc. Therefore, I only wear strictly braided tails or chignon. I can confirm the damage you describe, some of the hair at the temples is extremely short. So what can you do if you don't want to wear your hair down? Pull it back a little looser? I only wear it down at night or after washing to air dry. Thanks so much for your help in advance.

I love your hair tip about washing ones hair twice. I always tell the hair shampooist not to wash my hair twice if the hair foams with one wash. 😚l was aware that rubbing the hair dry. I tell the shampooist to stop. I will tell my hairdresser to educate the shampoo girl/guy. Your info about a long standing client who always wanted her hair tower high made my day. Bless her. Infact, during the 80s l always told my hairdresser to '"make it big." I am sure that he will put me in his notebook of clients comments.

I don't go often to hair salon, but when I do,I think around 1/year for a cut I don't wash my hair before. I specifically ask for hair wash as well. I don't see the point to wash my hair and then go to my appointment and then would be washed again.

There are a few of these points I don't agree with. One is buying hair products where you buy food. A large supermarket near me has a significant pharmacy area where they sell hair products. I've bought Cantu and other Curly Girl friendly items from them. Another is to stop relying on natural oils. Approximately 100 years ago women relied on sebum to condition and 'wash' their hair. I've been watching vids about historical haircare. Middle class women brushed theire hair for 30 mins a day with clean brushes (or had a maid to do it) to distribute the oils and 'clean' their hair from dust. Washing was done maybe monthly. They had long hair which appears to have been much healthier than modern hair, judging by their photos. I've been to the hairdressers with unwashed hair. Why wash it on the same day it's going to be washed at the salon? BTW I don't rely on sebum, but often put coconut oil in my hair which drinks it up.
