FAQs (If you have a question, READ THIS FIRST) 1) Songs? Mutant Sorrow by Poztman and Top Rock by DET; as always, links are in the description! 2) Where did I get the dreads? The first set is from Anemi Khold Synthetic Dreads and the second is from Anmorata Dread Design. 3) How many did I put in and how long are they? 33 DE dreads and they range from 17-22 inches long. 4) How long did this take? About 5 hours total, split between three days. 5) Why didn’t I put all 33 in the usual way? I got the second set in the mail after I already put in the first! 6) How do I install them? I have a tutorial up on the first method, and the second method is explained in the video. However, I will be doing updated tutorials for both methods soon! P.S. I say it’s a new way to install dreads, but I don’t *think* I invented it, I just mean it’s new to me. 7) How do I wash them? I have a video on that :) 8) What do I do with them after I take them out? Clean them and store them. They’re reusable! 9) How long do I keep them in? Anywhere from 2-7 weeks, but generally about 4. 10) How do I sleep with them? Just fine :) Check the description for more info! Also, inb4 “you’re high af” because no, I was just very tired and installing dreads after midnight hahaha. Y’all always think I’m high in these! When in reality I’m just exhausted and doing my hair when I should be sleeping.

Perhaps a bit of a touchy topic here, but with your dreads, do your dreads do you ever deal with hate from people who say you shouldn't have them because of your skin colour? I had debated dreads myself, synthetic or otherwise for myself at one point, but got attacked by dozens of people saying that I wasn't "allowed" to have them because of my skin colour. One person even said if they saw me with them they'd cut off my hair. If you've had people like this as well... how do you deal with it?
@funnygaming26728 жыл бұрын
you just ignore and continue whatever you are doing ...A lot of European add dreadlocks and braids but the media brain wash a lot of black people making them thinking that they need to wear weaves ect plus some old people that are still stuck in the old way that wont hire them... So they bash everything that is not black ,just do you and don't respond and if you really have too ,just tell your ADN backgroung is none of their business and ignore them for good ,if you are in public place you can complain to the security guard or the police if need.
@bolshiebtch28378 жыл бұрын
Tish Fannon I used to do braids in my hair and a few people asked why I was "trying to be black" it's very irritating. Especially since mine were usually bright colours/neon and clearly not done to "pretend" I was a different ethnicity.
@bluesenpai36508 жыл бұрын
I have actually experienced this before lol. I usually ignore them but if I feel like I need to say something, I will. Don't let it bother you, if you're happy with your dreads then that's all that matters TBH... Have fun! 😸
@ItzGeeLu6 жыл бұрын
I have gotten talked to about cultural appropriation but I feel as long as you understand the history of dreads then you should be able to debate that
@lizardfishbird6 жыл бұрын
I personally haven’t experienced that, but I have friends who have. The fact remains that a lot of countries - not just black countries - have dreadlocks as part of their heritage. The Polish plait, Celtic faerie locks, even the Vikings. Personally, I’m mostly Irish, and part of the reason I started doing synths in the first place was because I love my Irish and Celtic roots, and the faerie lock style is so pretty! I know it’s difficult, but just try to ignore or walk away from people who give you a hard time in a public place. You’re allowed to do whatever you want with your hair

Hey, love the look. I was a raver 2000-2010. The whole US raver scene is amazing. Been to loads of HDIT events. Nothing about the dreads just the death hawk, have you looked into getting the Wahl Detailer, it's a much smaller clipper and you can achieve much sharper lines. I am a barber so I'd enjoy working on your scalp the extreme looks are my thing. If your interested in an education into the UK rave scene have a look at Tidy Trax and their associated labels. I noticed that your "New way" of installing dreads is much like how Crotchet Twists are installed.. Those are installed after cornrowing your hair in a certain pattern and then putting the twist on the crotchet hook and closing the hook, then you pull the twist underneath the base of the cornrow and knot it so it's secure. Not sure if you knotted it after you pulled it through, but it might be more secure if you do :)
@ch527kerosene8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I saw a vid of that method a couple days after doing this! I love that method, and the end result looks so good compared to the way I do it. Knotting would definitely make it more secure, but these specific dreads are too stiff to do so :/

So, first things first - neopolitan! ^u^ And second, I have been thinking for a while to buy some synthetic dreads (it was you who actually got me interested in the first place!). The thing is, I am not an American and there are quite limited amounts of laces where I can get mine. I would just like to ask - are the wollen ones or the ones made from kanekalon better? And also, I have no idea how to pick my colors xD I was thinking maybe bordeaux, red, orange and yellow? I am naturally ginger, so I was thinking that these would suit the best xD Anyway, you are one of my favorite KZbinrs and you inspire me in many ways. Keep making awesome videos and being amazing! PS: You are really pretty >w

Neopolitan;Did you secure the later-added 8 dreads in any way?? Or just left then as shown in the video? Its an interesting technique and with a bit of fiddling (and rubber bands) might be something I add to my future installation routine!I really like the idea that you could have ~10 or so dreads installed like that which would be easier to add/remove over the month-ish amount of time of having braided dreads in before taking them out! Outfit-matching accent-dreads yes PLEASE

I think your white balance may be off, depending on your camera, it's easy to solve but in case it doesn't have the option... you can correct it pretty efficiently in premiere, using the lumetri color panel. You can either change your bulbs, color correct the final product or adjust the white balance, either way, the content still great so you do you
@ch527kerosene8 жыл бұрын
It's not the camera, it's the light bulbs, and I actually adjusted this footage in premiere! But I didn't make it perfect, since I don't really care all that much. But believe me, the original footage is wayyyyy worse.

@ch527kerosene8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Hmmm. Do you install DE dreads? If so, when you install, do you the criss-cross trick at the start? Where you position the dread, cross the two sections of hair over the middle, flip over the dread, cross the sections behind the middle, and then start braiding? If you wear SE, I unfortunately won't be able to help, since I never wear SE.
@maryberry4768 жыл бұрын

Hi, question ☝️, how long is the must that you can keep the same dreads for each installation?
@gwenstacy78088 жыл бұрын
"neopolitan" ... I use this "slip in" method to add extra pencil thin dreads after that initial install where I find that my hair has slipped a bit and then I need some more fullness. :) I also know that several people with permanent knotted dreads will add fullness with wool or synthetic dreads this way - into the section near the top where it hasn't matted to the scalp. :) I like the color mix!! I can't tell in the videos sometimes it looks like you blanket stitch and sometimes it looks like braiding. do you use both?

neopolitan! I'm curious, with the way you put the extra dreads in, is there an issue with them being 'loose'? It looks like you didn't secure them in place at all, and I'd be worried about accidentally tugging one and having it slide out...?
