​@@pracheerdeka6737depends on vehicle resonant frequency and tune, and the setups airflow. Most can't get solid hair tricks until around 150 dbs, or typically a bit less - at lower frequencies.. For example, I did 147 at 28hz years ago, now at 150 + even at the same frequency with some substantial changes to the setup. It hair tricked just as good back then, because of the solid air movement at the lower range. Tune low, have a solid setup(dampening/other reinforcement) and it's quite easy.

Also sounds very very musical, the sub plays a huge part. Big VAS and low FS subs seem to do the trick. (With the right enclosure)

My jeep would barely do them, but I put the same setup in my focus, and it's not as deep sounding maybe cause the jeep is more sealed up I'm get more power too my 15" sub mtx thunder 9500 right now it is hooked up too a rockford 500 prime I want 1200watts atleast oh and it has an horn port box.

You’re spot on with the suggestions, followed these concepts with six 15’s box in a truck and I’m moving hair on temporary low power 1800 watts. 21 cubes tuned to 29hz.

i don't use advertised TS-prems. DATS gen 3 measure after opening the box then run free air at 10% rms for 2hrs at FS. then measures again once it's broken in a bit i use that to tune the box as for hair tricks everything you say is dead on but also add sound deadening the more solid the car the more air gets forced in and out the windows

Yeah, my older brother had 4 12"s in his 95 Caprice some Roksford Fostgate 12"s with like 2 Fostgate amps, and I think 3 or four Fostgate or MTX 12"s in his 72 Buick LeSabre. They both were hooked up with Kenwood head units. They sounded pretty good too.😕🙂🤓🤠😎😏👍✌️🖐️👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸

I have 2 crossfire xs-v3 15s tuned to 28hz but the box is huge. I think the external is almost 12 cubes. Port looks a little short and I'm only using 1 of my orion xtr 2500.1dz because I haven't put my lithium batteries in. Sitting at 2 ohms which isn't doing much to the subs and I think I will able to do hair tricks in my extended cab silverado

2x QWX2000-12D4 on a QEA2500.1 in the trunk of my 07 Civic Hybrid facing towards the trunk causes the seats to essential give you a mini massage and your hair to vibrate a bit, in the middle of the car you can feel air moving past the hairs on your arm and hair on your shoulder that's towards the middle of the car. Makes me wonder if they're capable of actual hair tricks if I moved them to the back seat in a ported box instead of a sealed prefab box they're in currently. Wanting to do something with my 01 Sebring since it has a deep trunk and I can actually lower the backseat in it though, figure I'd use it as a tester for messing with car audio seeing as it's at 273k miles and shouldn't even be around since they tend to give out around 150k miles lmfao

4:21 I think you're not factoring in the volume of air being displaced. While I get it was an example. The straw would limit how fast you can push the air in your lungs to the air. Basically compression. And for a subwoofer, that's less output. Less windy. The other hole let's say a garden hose or something, will likely be able to handle the air you blow out without restriction. So no compression. More air more windy. If a smaller port is moving the same volume of air out as a bigger port. Then there is no difference. Only near the port would you feel the difference. I'd be happy to be wrong. This is just the way I see it. If I'm wrong then I move on and learn from my ignorance. No replacement for displacement. 🤷‍♂️

the replacement for displacement is enclosure. I’ve build a enclosure to spec for the 2 subs I had. I later decided to sell one of em and just run a single sub. After some thought for my design, I built an enclosure a good bit bigger than spec and 15-17 square inches per cube (don’t remember the exact amount) and it was much more windy. Tuning was the same for both boxes as well

depends if you're flanged aero ports no noise. but i've went pretty small on slot ports with no noise but I also ran a round over on the edges

Hey Jerry. I am running 2 15 DC LV4 subs in a 7+ cubic foot box. I was running a 6" diameter round port tuned to 27 HZ and it hit ok but didn't move much air. Another KZbinr helped me adjust my port and wanted it tuned in the lower 30s. I changed it to a 8" round port tuned to 33 HZ and now can do hair tricks somewhat. It will do it with only that window down and the person with their back to the door. Not very impressive but closer to what I want. This is on a SFB8K. other than tuning lower what would you suggest?

It's the box, it's all in the box volume in relation to port area & volume decides tuning. Lower fs subs help but it's all in the box not the subs and not the amplifier.

Think youre talkin about poly-fil, it is commonly used in tiny sealed enclosures as a damper to make the sub think the box is larger than it is but it will not help with that no

My specs not a hundred percent sure im just going off my memory i built it like 8 monyhs to a year or so ago

Round ports made from thick pvc are a really good option. It's very easy to change out ports(shorter or longer pvc) if you want to change tuning up or down. It's also really easy to turn regular pvc into a cool aero port. I have a vid on my channel for smaller pvc, larger than 4-6inch and you'll need to make some sort of mold, also very easy and cheap.

I know a dude who did two trunk builds, NO WALL OR SEALED OFF! One was a 12" on 500wRMS movin some clothes.. he then did two SA xv3 moving nasty air with 1 door open..... anyone ever did similar and is willing to help me out?
