My hair texture and thinness is EXACTLY like how you describe yours. Feathers is a perfect way to describe mine too.. I had a pixie cut for 20 years (after breast cancer) and finally grew it out during the pandemic. It is not near as long as yours since mine is so fine and thin it just won't grow that long. Thanks for this video , it really gave me some better information. Velcro roller seem to tear my hair out and that worries me since I have so little to spare. Your hair looks lovely and does not look thin at all. You always look so lovely and put together. Thanks again for this.

Thank you so much Melissa! I started watching you a couple of weeks ago and went back to your older videos in which you showed your daily exercises, and I started doing them. I fell a few years ago and banged my knee up pretty bad. I have refused to have it looked at. Well, it healed pretty well over time, but I still find that I'm having some mild difficulty with it. After I started doing your knee strengthening exercises with the ankle weights, my knee feels so much better! You'd never know how much of a blessing God has sent through your videos to me, so I had to tell you and say God bless you so much for touching this life way over here with such a tiny thing that has been such a huge miracle! God bless you!

Hello, can you tell me which one please? I’m interested too.
Your hair always looks so beautiful. My hair has thinned out so much. Especially right at the front of my hair. I’ll have to try the derma roller. I don’t use any heat on my hair. Linda sets my hair in Velcro rollers & I let my hair air dry. My hair is so fragile anymore. I can get two days looking decent. After that it’s ponytail time. I hardly want to discuss anything’s when all my thinking about are those children. I keep thinking what we’re they’re last moments. I just pray it was quick & they didn’t suffer. @debbierussino31172 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa. You always do a great job with your hair and that is coming from a seasoned hairstylist! I have a tip for anyone dealing with thinning hair and it's very natural and inexpensive. Fresh rosemary that can be purchased in any supermarket. Place a bunch of it in boiling water and then take it off the heat and let it steep for about an hour. When it cools off, put it in a spray bottle and spray your roots and rub it into your scalp after every shampoo and leave it in. I've been doing this for awhile and it works!
@amperage80322 жыл бұрын
I like this since it’s just water and you could use it often. How is the smell (I like rosemary, just curious how strong it is)? I’ve been taking Rosemary, mixing it with olive oil and letting it infuse while sitting in the sun. Refrigerate after its infused (days to a week or so). Then on days I wash my hair I put it on my scalp prior to washing. I’ve thinned (more daily loss) and my texture has changed so much (frizz) so I read this could help but yours can be used more frequently. Thanks for sharing your tip!
@debbierussino31172 жыл бұрын
@@amperage8032 You're so welcome! The smell is very subtle and you don't even know it's there. I use it after every shampoo. You should incorporate this in with your routine. Good luck....I hope it works!

So, we probably deal with the same humidity issues. I found a product that has completely changed my hair. Not just the health of it but the "life" of it. I don't really know how to explain it. I just know that we both want the same thing for our "feathers", as you call them. Anyway, I'm longwinded but trying to get to the point. It's Tigi Catwalk By Your Highness Elevating Conditioner for Fine, Lifeless Hair. I tried it when I saw it at Tuesday Morning. Now I order it from Amazon. I've used it off and on as needed for 40 years now, and have had my family use it and clients and its always helped .. Any time you notice hairloss, it's usually from illness, stress, surgeries, etc. something from three months previous.. and when you think back three months, you'll know what it was that caused the loss..

My hair also is similar to yours, fine, thin, frizzy in humid weather. Except it is more curly. Hated it in the 70s when the look was long and straight and a constant fight. Late 80s and early 90s it was ok because it was the big hair perm look. Have always worn it shoulder length or longer until a year ago. Now it’s a short pixie, natural curl and so much easier to care for that I can still style a couple different ways depending on the mood. I’m 64 and have never received so many compliments on my hair in my life! Most from younger women! And to think I always swore to never have short hair! Never say never! 😁

Isn't it amazing what we ladies have to go through? My husband has a thick head of hair and barely has to run a comb through it and here I am rolling, blowdrying, flat ironing and buying 2 million products to keep it all together. Not fair, I swear Melissa. I was wondering if there is a low alcohol air spray because alcohol is drying and then when you put a hot tool to the hair it can cause the breakage we get. I used to tell my girlfriend that we ladies should wake up every 5 years to a "virgin" head of hair so we can start anew. If only. LOL I'd love to see the hair growth after using the derma roller after a year has gone by just to see the difference. Thanks for all the tips and tricks and I'll have to try a few myself.

Oh it's so true what we have to go through! And of course the men have good hair, or at least look good if they shave it all off! lol. Yeah, that makes sense about the alcohol in the spray. Loved seeing your hair tutorial Melissa. Very nice. I have some of those big rollers. My would get tangled. Maybe I'm not doing it right. Anyway, I use the foam heated rollers. That's a great idea to use the steam in the shower. Sending you love 🤗🤗🤗❤❤🥰🥰

‼️❤️I love your hair, but notice one thing… You’ve noted a number of times that your hair is flat on top. Years ago, (about 7-8?) when I first found KZbin I found Dominique Sachse’s channel (Houston news anchor, recently retired) and she had life changing advice for lift and volume on top. (at that time she had longer hair than she has now) 1. She said flat hair on top can be the result of your rollers flattening at the base of the hair. So she said to side part, use a shot of hairspray at the root (noticed you spray 1-2” up from root), and roll the hair so that when you’re done rolling, you can tell the hair is lifting straight up from the root, then clip. 2. She also said to roll away from th part line on top of head for max volume, roll toward the back at the crown. She has so many videos on hair and volume at the top…and they are all so helpful ‼️

Melissa, I've watched you a few times and am always amazed at how you look 20 years younger than you are, I mean REALLY...it is amazing. I forget if you had any botox etc..or just have used Retin A for years. Do you use any of it on your neck and chest too? Your arms look so good! Do you have specific exercises you do for them? I have been doing a lot of arm stuff with weights. Boy people tell me most of my life that they can't believe how old I am...but you NOBODY would have a clue girl!

Thank you so much for the video. I have hair exactly like yours and "second day hair" is getting harder and harder to pull off! I love your idea and look forward to doing it. You are such a beautiful woman inside and out. PS I smiled when i saw your large rollers. It reminded me of high school days when I would roll my hair on empty tomato sauce cans!!!

Girl, you have my sympathies about the hair, then! It's sure a challenging type of hair to have. awwwww, thank you so much. Yes, we sure had the large cans to roll our hair on. lol. Thanks you so much! ♥️♥️♥️

Hi Melissa!!! I haven't had a chance to try velcro rollers before my shower. But i do plan on it!! I'll tell you my hair just cannot take the heat like it used to. And of course the build up from heat protectant sprays ugh, it is a struggle for sure. I will update you when i get a chance!!! XOXO P.S. The velvet hot rollers have been my hairs best friend lately LOL!!!

Melissa you put effort in your hair and it shows. How often do you use Nioxin? After every shampoo? Sorry if you mentioned and I missed it. You call your hair "feathers" and I call mine a nest.🐦. I'm half Puerto Rican and Hungarian so my hair is coarse and wavy. I have to put a lot of effort into it too. But its worth it, right? Mine is shoulder length and I can still put up. Your 2nd day hair was just as pretty as 1st. Thanks for sharing your tips🙋♀️

Thank you so much Sharon. Now you have the kind of hair I would love to have. I do use the Nioxin every time I shampoo. But I’m just doing it twice a week so that’s how many times a week I’ll put it on my scalp. Take care and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. And I appreciate you. 💋💋💋

Girl, your hair looks amazing! I've been cutting about an inch off the length every time I get it highlighted and it's helping it look & feel thicker! I need to try the nioxin! I've been using Aveda invanti and alternating it with bondi boost hair growth. I've got at least 20 different shampoos in & around my shower. It's kinda funny! 😂😂😂 Love you!
@Melissa552 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you, Sandy! Do you like the Aveda? I've been thinking about it. I don't know about the Bondi. It is a good one? You are my hair expert!! Love you!! and take care. 🌷🌷🌷
@uksandycat2 жыл бұрын
I'm still on the fence with the bondi boost but it doesn't cook my neck like some do. The aveda is so so...feels kinda slimy and it does burn my neck. 😏 I'll tell you what I am absolutely loving is option # 3. Ouai detox shampoo...it's awesome! I just watched dr berg talking about apple cider vinegar for hair loss and it's in the ouai. Try that one!

When I was in high school (longtime ago) I would pull my hair in a ponytail on top of my head and use orange juice cans to roll my hair up. Sleep on it and take it down in the morning. You certainly spend a lot of time doing hair and makeup, but you look great.

Love how your hair always turns out Melissa! Thanks for showing us step by step. I like the huge size rollers. They seem to be like 4 or 5 inches which would help with my curly hair. I have the size down to those. When I was young I would use an empty can of coffee. Cut open the other end and wrapped the hair around it. It would come out straight with volume on top. I also would have my mom iron my hair on the ironing board. The things we used to do. Lol! Melissa do you get the Nioxin scalp and hair treatment at Ulta? Need to try that. Have a wonderful week my friend! Love ya! :)

Melissa, I remember you’ve had Covid a little bit back. Hair loss from Covid is real. It happens a couple of months or so after the virus infection. Have you experienced it? I have been dealing with it recently. I use a hair max that has helped. I have a derma roller but too afraid to use it. Does it puncture your scalp? You always make your hair look beautiful.
@Melissa552 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t seem to puncture my scalp. I can feel it sort of prickling but it doesn’t ever bleed or anything like that. Yes I had Covid at the end of March. So I’m worried that it will start back up again falling out. But if it does I guess it does. We keep fighting the good fight don’t wait? Take care and have a great rest of the week. Love, Melissa 🧡🧡🧡
