I love how she says she doesn't appreciate how hair products are just a waste of time and money... but she's had to redo her hair like 5 times because of cheap products and not using proper techniques. it took $20 and that's what it looks like

As a medical professional I can tell you that your skin is VERY absorbent. The scalp is full of pores and the hair follicles of course which products can and do absorb through those means. So yes, folks, he’s 100% right. I give many patients medication that is absorbed transdermal (on top of skin to be absorbed by the skin) if our bodies didn’t absorb then those medicines would be useless. People really should think about what they put on their largest organ (skin)!

Thank you for the henna info. So many hairdressers don’t understand henna. Henna is orange. It isn’t any other color and it doesn’t come in light or dark shades. It’s one color and it’s green powder mixed with water or another liquid. If it isn’t a green grassy smelling powder it isn’t pure henna.

As someone that lives in pretty rural areas Sally's is one of the few places that's usually readily available. It's basically the Wal-Mart for beauty supplies. They're even usually right next to each other and usually pretty close to an interstate/highway exit. I took a 5/6 years hiatus from bleach/dye and let my hair grow out. I recently decided to start dyeing it again. It's naturally very dark almost black. I discovered Ion, the same brand she's using, has an ammonia free bleach. Doesn't melt your eyeballs and singe your nostril hairs while giving your cats a full on melt-down. I love it, it has a nice smell. I use it with their sensitive scalp developer. So far its a favorite, haven't had any issues with itching/burning while using it on scalp, has been the most pleasant bleaching experience so far.

The skin is the biggest organ in the human body! Your skin absorbs every single thing you put on it. Hairdressers have to study not just the hair and the make up of it. We also have to study the skin and what lives underneath it so we can diagnose a problem and take steps to avoid or fix them. If you study hair and beauty in Ireland, it’s the pretty much the equivalent of studying 2 years medical. They tell you this on the first day to warn you how hard and intense the training is going to be. I’m sure it’s the same in most countries.

Only Sally’s for people who don’t have a license to do hair (and some nail techs that work in small salons). Further, most people who work at Sally’s have ZERO experience cutting, bleaching, coloring, etc. hair. When people say that someone at Sally’s told them what to buy, and what to do, I cringe so damn hard. Don’t get me wrong! I know of hairdressers who get their supplies at Sally’s, but generally those are people who didn’t finish school and feel like they got far enough to be able to do hair on the DL (at home, not in a salon). Love watching your videos. You’re always saying what I’m thinking 😂

I love your videos, they cheer me up and I learn about colouring hair correctly. Unfortunatley I developed a strong allergy to ammonia and chemicals in general, therefore I have to colour my hair with pure henna ( mix with black tea to get a darker result!) and indigo. That takes 48 hours but won't make my hair fall out. Nevertheless I never knew about quick blue and T18 and they seem to be the only ingredients they sell at sally's. I live in Germany, so I don't know if there are other hair dresser suplly stories than sally's itself.
