Wow this is really cool! I’m a hairdresser and I have and love cutting curly hair. This technique is very interesting and out of the box. I believe when cutting curly hair it’s a must to think creatively. This also reminds me of a highlighting technique where you back comb the hair and apply the lightener to the remaining hair. It looks like a mess when you’re doing it but comes out beautifully soft and jut melted enough. Love this thanks for sharing!

omg, finally found a hairdresser who knows how to deal with curly hair! I have hair similar to hers, just less volume. I've been thinking about getting layers because my curls only come out in the bottom of my hair but I want much more volume on the top! when showing this to a hairdresser how do I ask for this specifically?

Hair is curly, 3C type. I went in for a trim last weekend, brought a photo from my phone of exactly what I wanted. I told her I needed a trim with a little bit of layers, not too much, and that if I pull my hair back sometimes (since I work in a restaurant, I don't want any hairs sticking out. She said "Okay, absolutely." Well she did the complete opposite of what I asked. I knew right after the cut I wasn't happy at all. I should have said something to her, but I didn't. This was actually a redo that she did from last week, free of charge. I wanted some layers added, so she got me in. But regardless that it was freezing of charge, she messed it up. Now if I pull my hair back, my "layers" look like a fan. I went to this salon last year for a trim and she did a really good job. And that is why I wanted to go back. Unfortunately this time she did not do a good job. I'm so disappointed. It looks really bad. I won't go back to her or that salon ever again. Can this be fixed?

@@machinegirl2007 hey! This haircut is a combination of techniques. First i cut the line. Second i use the length from the occipital bone in the back zone for my layer in the back. I then use the length from the top of the crown zone as my guide i the top front zone. I am using the dry cutting technique as it allows me to work with the curl pattern and stops me from cutting too much length off. To finish i refine the haircut by reducing weight. This will help activate more curls and also add longevity to your haircut

Would love a tutorial on a mens curly cut that is longer on top and shaved in the back with fine hair. That's my current issue and there arent many videos available online for shaping or managing baby fine curly hair, specifically shorter styles. I use a 3 guide and blend a 4 toward the crown but am struggling to feel satisfied with how the top is shaped. He either ends up looking too bushy on the sides or his curls are too heavy and it makes his hair look thinner, but he won't go to a stylist because no one seems to know how to cut curly hair in our area. 😅

I would recommend cutting round graduation in the back and side zones. Fading or tapering the hairline. In the top zone a square layer

I am so sorry to hear about your hair loss. You are best to talk to a local medical professional regarding hair loss in relation to your illness. Some suggestions that may help is PRP Treatments, the use of Minoxidil or even some home remedies like rosemary and castor oil treatments. All of the above suggestions can be googled for more information. I hope you get your curls back

3:34 vs 3:43. I’m confused, first side you cut short to long, I thought other side you would reverse and start from outside and do the same, but instead you followed same pattern as other side, short to long, but now longer corner is on outside ?
@HairByJamesAnnabel8 ай бұрын
Hey! thanks for the question. Both sides are cut exactly the same The cutting pattern is the same on both sides, I used my guide from the first side for the opposite side. When cutting a square layer you don't need to change your body position to achieve the same result. When cutting with a triangular cutting angle you do need to change your body position to accomodate on the opposite side. You would need to be ambidextrous to cut from the outside in, on both sides when cutting square. Its the same as this process kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGbOlGxrh791g5Ysi=zbMcXSc8IJoCk11v

Dry cutting the way he is doing accentuates the curls, working with them. I have been less than thrilled more than once with the regular methods of haircutting, yet not once with an experienced stylist that does dry cuts as a way to accentuate the natural curl pattern and texture. You may not be familiar with the method and that's okay if you aren't, however it doesn't justify a rude comment to him.

@@HairByJamesAnnabel I see… just thinking there is nothing wrong making natural curls looking well nourish while being gloriously cut by yourself. Too much diffuser heat without enough heat protection plus over manipulation while drying it could be to blame. I love the cut though.
