His videos are short, and you do need study breaks. One tip from my college days is I pushed myself really hard to study, so by finals week I felt ready and could relax. Our doormates were perplexed a friend and I went to the beach on finals week, but we were able to do that because by the end of the course we knew the content so well. So at the beginning or middle of the course we avoided going out and studied Monday through Friday. We also studied on Saturday, which made us ready by the finals.

I just wanted to say Thank you Chris for your educational videos. From you I learned that I have fine hair and started using your recommended products and it was NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. I had been dealing with breakage and bleach damage and had to cut my hair but since using my the right products for my hair type, my hair doesn’t get as oily as before, it feels soft, my scalp is less itchy, and it’s healthy and growing so fast. It’s insane. You really are doing the Lord’s work out here. Thank you!!! 🙏🏼 😊

I love your videos and the recommendations you make. I just turned 73 yesterday. I have plenty of fine hair. I no longer color my hair and it is a shiny silver. I get a lot of compliments about my hair. The only reason is because you talked me into using your list of products for fine hair. My hair has grown almost 5 inches in less than a year because the ends, thanks to oil, are no longer breaking at the rate my hair grows. I can't wait to add another 5 inches next year so I can actually braid it. Thank you immensely! You saved my hair.

Clobetasol Proprionate Topical Solution, USP 0.05%. I’ve not had a breakout in years but used to battle Psoriasis plaques. Psoriasis shampoos never did a thing for it, only stunk and gave my hair a bad texture. This prescription product comes in a bottle with an applicator tip similar to what you see on nasal sprays so you can apply it to your scalp precisely where it’s needed and it works wonders! Of course, some medications work for some people and not so much for others but this would clear up the scalp plaques usually within a day or two, depending on the severity. Seriously, it’s most definitely worth a try. Keep in mind that it is a corticosteroid so you’ll need to list it if you’re having bloodwork or dental procedures. It shouldn’t interfere with those procedures but will test Positive for steroids.

Dear Chris, I love you. Nowadays there are tutorials on KZbin for really every topic. The tiny little catch is that most of them (no matter the topic) are garbage. I now recognize the good ones just as quickly as the crappy ones. And if you're very lucky, you'll find an exceptionally brilliant channel on your topic. Like the blowout professor Chris. And I've also made a few mistakes that I no longer make thanks to you. Competent and exceptionally amusing. I love how you get worked up about exactly the same things, just as passionately as I do. I have thick, course, wavy/ curly hair, and been in salons for years, watching stylists blow dry others hair. I’ve had 3 different stylists since 2010, and have never left a salon with dry hair. Yep, even in the coldest days of winter, I’m walking out the door with completely wet hair. It makes me dread every hair appointment. They always say they don’t have time to dry me. I’d love to know what it’s like to leave the salon with my hair styled. Another thing I’ve dealt with for years, is the stylist complaining how long it takes to rinse shampoo out of my hair, and they never even shampoo the lower back area of my scalp. The ladies that always compliment, and say they wish they had my hair, don’t know how lucky they are to not have it 😢

It took me decades to appreciate my own hair. It's a lot of maintenance, I didn't like the style I was "stuck" with, and my mom hurt the H..ll out of me when she was doing my hair. As for hairdresser, I remember asking for a blond line at the end of my hair. She told me it wouldn't look good 'cause my hair will shrinck. I was a teen at the time but it didn't resonate good with me at all. My mum used to leave me there 'cause I was growing up, and became and handfull, but likewise to them. So I definitely, I got a different vibe when my mom was there in the salon. After all, she was paying, not me. 🤔 Go a different stylist, gollow your instinct and don't hesitate to leave in the middle of a process if something doesn't feel right. As for blow out at home, there is a reverse one, which work like a vaccum. I never try it, but it seems legit, and it prevent you from pulling your roots. I really like ebony curls' channel. She's not a professional but she's very patient and diligent with her. Good luck on your journey 😉

My hair stylist had heard of the Wet Brush but said it’s not necessary to use as long as you brush your hair from bottom to top, and then proceeded to blow dry my hair and COMB from TOP TO BOTTOM. Dear Chris, I watched so many of your videos since I started asking myself „How come I spend so much Money for products from my hairsalon and expensive natural hair products and my hair gets greasier and greasier (from the scalp) and dryer and dryer (in the lenghts and ends)?“ As a really critical Person, I wanted to understand, how it really works and what is best for my long, fine blonde hair. So I watched almost every Video you made, got my stuff together, ordered the recommended products and I AM SOOOO HAPPY!!! 🎉🎉🎉 My hair is fresh, silky, shiny, really easy to style and sooo pretty. And the products don‘t smell that much (what I really really love), as all the other products from my hairstylist. I really trusted you and it was worth every Cent. I am so glad to hear from you about when stylists blame you for their own weakness! 🙏🙏 For years , I have been told by various stylists that my thick, naturally curly my hair just couldn’t be cut or styled in a certain way and felt really bad. After going to a few stylists who actually treated me normally and produced great results, I realized that it is all about finding someone skilled enough. It doesn’t mean my hair is not good enough or weird or ugly. Stylists should be careful cause it can actually make people feel really bad

I'm on day 4 of my first wash with your recommended product list, and I've woke up tangle free every single day! My long, dry, and naturally curly hair has been knotting up during the day, over night, and while in the shower. It was impossible to keep the tangled knots out. I was ready to do a super chop as the breakage from the knots and tangles is causing all over frizzy flyaways. My hair is so much better on day 4, as it normally would be on day 1. The only reason I'm washing my hair today is because I normally wash and mask on Sunday for 1-2 week long style (weather/humidity permitting). Your product list is like an elimination diet for the hair. I have already removed my product graveyard (except for mouses and gels when I want to be naturally curly): from the shower, under the sink, in a large bin on a shelf, and on my vanity...43 product bottles in all. I have no idea which products were causing the knots, as I used them on a regular rotation in an effort to battle the knotting issue. I had a routine and products for dry days, extremely dry days, knotty days, very knotty days, curly days, and straight days. I know it was somehow product related, because for the last 4 days I've woke-up knot free with pretty shinny oil--brush--go hair. I've literally spent about 3-5 minutes each morning fixing my hair. Now I have 7 products for wash day: Repair Treatment, Shampoo & Conditioner, Hair Mask, Leave-In-Conditioner, Blow-Dry-Cream, Heat protectant (if I choose to flat iron) and 1 (one, uno) product for daily use--Hair oil. For valentines day I will be getting all 4 of my girls the entire list for their specific hair types...starting them off while they are young may prevent the 35+ years of my bad hair days! I was buying products for my hair pattern. Your approach for hair type boggled my mind, until I tried it, now I'm just WOWED! I feel for a very long time I will be posting comments to your channel just to help others that are riding the fence on whether or not to take the plunge on your product list. I have zero regrets do it. Best thing I've ever done for my hair.

I found Tyne hair spray - the first product I’ve ever used that I don’t need much and it brushes out easily but still keeps the hold on my bangs for days. Tiny can that lasts for months because I don’t need much. My mother taught me to put a hair mask in before going to the beach or pool. Of course, growing up in Florida, and going to the beach or pool often, we washed our hair more often than most. I never had a dryness issue. I’ve learned that the change in water from what you’re used to when traveling will always result in hair issues. But, they can be easily fixed once home again with Chris’ hair program. I don’t like the Redken 22 and use it very sparsely with the same result. Chris is right, less is more! I tend to have very dry ends so I use a hair balm (Aetheopika) each night and wake up with soft, supple ends and no greasy texture. My hair is thick and curly (almost all types) medium coarseness but most products for curly hair cause extreme dryness. Just because you have curls doesn’t mean you need curly products.

I don't know if I missed it but you could also do a video on hairsoap? Fits a bit to DIY Haircare. Many of my friends are using hairsoap and had good experience with it like reducing hair loss. I am still with my proffessional shampoo but would be interested in your opinion :)

Almost every stylist I’ve been to said my hair just wouldn’t hold a blowout until the last one. She just kept putting more time and effort and even redid the haircut until it worked and she didn’t charge any extra for the overtime. I cut my own hair now but she was so sweet

Omg I remember my hair after I got it done at a salon. My hair was so stiff from - wait for it - SHEA MOISTURE. She was so confused. After she washed it, it was so much better.

Chris: I grilled my waist long jet black hair bleaching it at home 😢 I wish I"ve found your channel earlier. I'm still navigating what products to use to make it better, but your advice surely helped me not to do worst... I'm so depressed with this chin long horrible bob 😫😭

I was following the advice in these videos, I used a salon shampoo , did the trinity method, no heat, bought a recommended detangling wet brush he advertises , no sleeping on wet hair, etc. His methods caused me to lose an absurd amount of hair. I have fine hair I do not think others with fine hair should follow this advice or you may end up in the same boat I was in. The Detangler is horrible , salon shampoo completely dried out my hair so when I did the trinity method it just made my hair look worse because it wasn’t retaining any moisture. Switched to a shae moisture shampoo , deep oiling before a shower (which he also doesn’t recommend) and my hair fall is drastically reduced , Davines beautifying serum on mids and ends after showering once weekly, hair fall is now almost nothing.

I love the way my hair felt after I did the bond repair Redken however the next wash my hair started falling in clumps. I stopped using it and did my regular shampoo and conditioner regimen. Less hair came out after my consecutive washes. I switched to Olaplex 3 and the same thing happened the wash after the treatment my hair fell off on clumps.

Are you sure that it wasn’t just hair being caught? I find that my hair sticks together (for lack of a bette rterm) until wash day and after applying conditioner is loosed from its neighbors. I still brush morning and night with a palm brush so it shouldn’t, right? Wrong. Hair falls out and sometimes we go through a shed. Since doing Chris’ routine with my own soul mate wash products, I now have lots of regrowth of the same length which I can only see when blow drying.

@@lrg613 It was clumps I literally passed my hand and it came out with no effort while I was washing. It was scary because so much fell off that the drain of the shower was clogged with it. All you saw was hair and no drain.

@@lrg613 I also thought it may have been post partum shedding but the thing I started using the bond treatments after three months post partum and my hair has been fine since then. I gave the treatment a rest and I just did the shampoo and conditioner for a couple of weeks and my hair shedding went back to normal.

I once went to a hair salon for a hair cut. When the stylist asked what I wanted for a haircut, I told her to cut it in such a way that it wouldn't bulge out on the sides ("bunny cheeks" as a former stylist of mine would call them). She said "that can easily be fixed with a bit of styling". She grabbed a blowdryer and a round brush and flattened out my bunny cheeks. Then proceeded with the shampoo and the hair cut. She missed on the fact that what I really wanted was a haircut that was easy to manage. One where I could step out of my shower, treat my hair, let it air dry and look presentable. I was happy with the haircut, but I could have done without the condescending remark and demonstration.

I wash my scalp only, twice to get rid of the dirt and oil then I put conditioner and or hair mask from my neck down for a couple of minutes and rinse then let my hair dry about 80 precent and apply hair cream and let it dry completely then I put my hair in a low ponytail and do 2 to 3 more hair ties along my hair to keep it all in place and sleep with it and I also leave it throughout the day if I don't need to go out of the house that day and after that my hair feels so smooth and shiny is if I did a blowout but without heat

Hi Chris! I have been watching your videos for the past year and have found them to be very helpful regarding healthy hair habits along with using the best products for my hair type. I also love your sense of humor. So, thank you! I have a question . . . I have been with the same stylist for years. My long, fine hair is transitioning from blond to platinum. I've had my hair highlighted 3x a year for many years, as well. My gal has always used the "pulling my fine hair through a cap method." When I've asked about using the "foil method," she dismisses that idea, because she wants to get the highlights down to the roots. I don't mind spending a little more $ to do the foil method, because I'm sure it must take more time. What would you recommend? Thank you for your expertise.

I’m no stylist, but I’ve been highlighting my hair for a long time too with a very experienced and up to date on the latest methods stylist. She hates the cap and said it’s such an antiquated way. It’s time to switch stylists who is open to more current methods. IMO ❤

It doesn't stay on the brush when i put it around it. Please give us some tips on how to achieve salon finished hair 😊

So, I learned it mostly depends on ph-levels and that "colour protection" products have a slightly lower ph-level than "normal" products. This is actually not true to every product. But just to make sure: Is this information right anyway? And even if I had natural colour, but f.e. problems with frizz, could this choose of product may help, just because of low ph? Glad that I found you here, thanks for your advices 🙂

Hey Chris, I know that in your recommended product list the recommended leave in conditioner is the Pureology one, but that has recently been rebranded and people have started noticing that the latter half of the ingredients is different along with different results. Could you maybe try to see if that product is still worth buying, or if it should be replaced by another one?

There is only IGK shampoo for Air Drying in your list of recommended shampoos, but this shampoo is not even available in EU or could be bought at a price of 3 Redken shampoos, would be helpful to have some alternatives. Also, it seems to have harsh element in it, I wonder, whether your advices are compatible with hair health in general and in long term perspective? Despite I have doubts regarding some advices and technics, I find your videos mostly useful, I wish they were more oriented on health of hair and good natural look without so much styling. Thank you.
