💈 Haircut At The Most Geographically Centered Barbershop In The United States

Recently, we drove to the middle of the contiguous United States and wanted to find the closest barbershop to the geographic center of the United Sates which is located outside of the small town of Lebanon, Kansas.
After searching the towns of Lebanon and Smith Center, we headed to Downs, Kansas and found the appropriately named Lost Traditions Barber Shop run by local Delmer Rothchild.
Delmer got his barber license in 1965 and barbered for 17 years prior to taking a job with the US Department of Agriculture. After retiring, he went back to barbering because he didn’t want to sit at home. He opened Lost Traditions Barber Shop in 2010 and says this isn’t a job to him because he enjoys it so much 💈❤️

Well we do want a video longer than 5 minutes and the barber was very cautious about cutting too much off and made sure to ask before cutting off too. Very considerate!

Reminds me of a barber my dad took me to when I was 7,8 and 9 years old. Soft spoken and nice. He always asked me how I was doing in baseball. I hated when we moved out of town because I had to go somewhere else for my haircuts. Nice video Harry. You took me down memory lane some 40 years ago.

Good video! This barber is really good! I’ve been cutting for 32 years and this guy and I have a lot in common. The days of the half hour or longer haircuts are thankfully gone. A good barber should not need longer than 10 to 15 minutes for a cut. Another thing is how he cuts. He doesn’t use all the new modern so called cutting techniques that are just gimmicks. Salons are good for that stuff to make it look like the customer is getting something done in a way that’s so special. That is just a gimmick to spike the price way up. This guy cuts with just good cutting skill. I like this guy!!!

This guy reminds me of a barber I used to go to as a kid. He was an honest-to-goodness Okie from the dust bowl era. That slight southern drawl, calming voice and skilled barbering was an ASMR gold mine. He used to ask which ear I wanted to keep every time he used the straight razor. Fond memories of that shop.
