No that was not long hair that’s short. Well for me my hair goes to my knees and it’s thick long hair. My classmates call me rapunzel (you know the Disney princess). I have never cut my hair and I’m not lying about it. I don’t want to cut my hair so my hair will never be cut I look good with long hair at least I look good. 😂

In 4th grade I went to supercuts and I wanted a Jennifer Lawrence pixie and I literally got mistaken for a little boy for so long, and then in 6th grade I cut it off again but got it done at a good hair place. I looked ok but then I tried to grow it out and so I had a mullet at some point and I wanted the back trimmed so I could grow it into a bob and the lady took out clippers and shaved off my hair in the back and i have gone through so much lol. I finally have my hair at normal length and it's taken me 6 years 😂😂

My horror story: I was at a hairsalon and this girl was cutting my hair, I wasn't really paying attenttion, untill I realized she was literally cutting hairs on the top of my head straight from the root. I was too shy to say anything back at her. She kept cutting, not much just little hairs in sections and her superior came to look at the situation and she was "ooo stopp, what are you doing" and the girl says she was doing like supporting hairs to make it fluffy. And her superior had to explain to her it works with short cuts and not long cuts. And I had to grow those hairs out for a year it looked crazy. I cried.

I really wanted to audition, so I decided to dye my hair red. I didn’t know about color lifter!! My roots dyed beautifully, but the rest of my hair stayed black. I looked like a Halloween Oreo. Needless to say, I did not audition for the part!!

Okay, so that one girl didn't have anything close to a buzz cut she had a bob. Not even that short a bob. I like long hair don't get me wrong, but why are so many women afraid of or hating on the idea of short hair. It's not like only some people can pull it off, anyone can you just have to find the best style, but I feel like short hair just looks so fresh and fun, and I hope more women feel inspired to cut there's because it really doesn't matter. I know it take a long time to grow back, but it does grow back. It's just hair, and you can pull of anything if you're confident.

my mom begged me to get a haircut and i denied her every single time and i would cry when she tols me i had to. she tols me that i would only get 1 mm cut off so i no longer thought it was a big deal. but instead, she asked the hair dresser to cut off a few mm instead of 1mm. so the dresser cut it like about 70mm. my mom told me that she would cut 1mm just to convince me to go. That hairdresser deserved to be fired tbh. My hair was so short and ugly and it only messured like 200mm only.

When I was younger I kind of went to different haircut places each time for a few years, so this one time, I think I was 8, and the lady was asking me lots of questions (a good sign) but I didn’t know what layers and feathering and all this stuff meant, so I would look at my mom because she knew. The lady cutting my hair did not like that I was asking my mom, and I guess she felt like it was stupid that I didn’t know these terms or something like that, so she yelled at me “stop looking at your mom, you should know these answers!” That stressed me out a bit, I hate getting yelled at, so I told her that I didn’t know what she meant. She tried explaining it to me, is still didn’t get it, tried again, no luck. My mom tried, and I got it then. All of this just for me to tell her that I didn’t want layers, because I liked the cut I already had, and that one didn’t have layers.

Since my hair grows really slowly, this was a long and painfull journey back to long hair again. Since then, I had hairdressers just cut my tips or put some layers in, but I think I haven't been to a hair saloon in about 7 years - I cut them myself, if this goes wrong, at least I am the one to blame...

All the barbers in my town ignore everything I️ day and cut my hair the way *they* want to which is super-short, but the last straw is when I️ went to one and said “I️ only want a a little off the top but make the sides” and then he cut me off and said “No I️ do I️t this way”, and that’s why I️ don’t go the barbers in my town anymore

I have naturally curly hair and i needed a hair cut because i had like little split ends so i go to great clips and ask for a trim like JUST the split ends. So they say my name and I go back. She wets my hair and starts to cut it, and i'm not worried because I said just the ends. She tells me to put my glasses on so I do and she literally chopped half of my hair of like before it was like at my waist and after the cut it is legit almost at my shoulder so I try not to cry as I pay for my cut. I go home and sob in my room for like 10 minutes and at that point my hair has dried. You remember how I told you my hair was curly well now it is dried curly and above my shoulders. I go to another hair place I forgot what it was called but I asked for extensions they gave me extensions and I waited for my hair to grow back.

Two days before prom I went in to get a trim cause I hadn't had my hair cut in a rediculous amount of time and needed it. We go in and I'm talking to the lady who's going to cut my hair and we agree on an inch and keeping the layers, really simple I've gotten it a million times. My hair was to about the bottom of my shoulder blades (this will be important to know in a minute). So I take off my glasses, she spins me around and starts talking about how she's used to cutting curly hair cause her daughters have it so this will be no big deal. I'm sitting there really confident and I close my eyes because what else am I going to do when all there is to look at is a wall. So some time passes and she says she's done, turns me to the mirror and gives me my glasses. The hair around my face was up to my chin. The hair in the back looked like it wasn't touched. So I'm already internally freaking out. So I'm very nice about it and I'm like can we shorten up the back so it's more of a smooth transition. So she starts cutting and then I realize she isn't cutting the back, she's cutting the middle and it's now shorter than the front and back. So I wait for her to say she's done because I'm just freaking out more now. So we get out of there as fast as we can and as we get to the car I start showing how freaked out I am. So my dad and I go get my sister and mom from the book store and I'm crying and my mom and sister keep telling me it's fine it's not that bad and I clearly don't believe them. So my mom has me wash and straighten it to see if that makes it any better, no surprise it's only worse. Next day (day before prom) we call to see who's working that day and it's someone else and the lady who cut my hair and I said hell no we'll go to the other store. We go to the other store, I start crying to the manager cause it's the day before prom and this lady ruined my hair. She takes a bunch of pictures to send in, fixes it for free and gives me a coupon for a free haircut. The original salon is no longer open.

For the summer of going from 7-8th grade I thought it would be a great idea to make a change in my life and cut my hair. (Spoiler: it wasn’t) I found a picture online of a women with hair down to about her collar bone and said that I wanted that hair cut. At the time, my hair was down almost to my BUTT and I hadn’t gotten such a “short” hair cut since I was three and my mom had got me a bowl cut. When we went to the stylist, I asked if I had enough hair to donate, and she told me no. When she took off the initial amount of hair, it was a little longer than what I had wanted. So she washed my hair and told me she was going to make it less blunt looking. I agreed. Bad decision. She lied. She took my hair from collar bone length up to my chin, and u fee cut me so much that more than a year later, the underneath of my hair still isn’t more than an inch long! The worst part is she knew she f-ed up and decided to curl it to try to make it look better, which worked, but unfortunately I didn’t know how to curl my hair and once I slept on it I looked like blonde Dora. I cried for a week, and when 8th grade came, I was so embarrassed that I would hide behind my taller friends and avoid people. Still growing it out, even though the stylist said “it will only take 2 weeks” smh

I went to the barber about 6 months after I shaved my head and asked him to keep most of the length on the top but cut the back and sides to a fade style, which I thought was a very normal request. He kinda laughed at me, like "little lady doesn't know what she wants. I know what she really wants!" and I walked out $40 poorer with nothing cut except for a bald rectangle at the top of my neck. It was a very similar style to my grandma but she wouldn't pay that much. I hated it so much!

My hair horror story: When I was in 2nd grade there was a really bad case of head lice going around my year and I unfortunately caught them so my mum was trying for hours one Saturday to get them out of my hair. Now my hair was really long and I had only ever gotten trims before so my hair was down to my bum. My mum used to work at a hair salon as her Saturday job when she was in college so when she got really frustrated when the head lice wouldn't come out she told me that she used to work in a hairdressers and she would cut my hair. I thought she knew what she was doing but she then proceeded to put my hair into a ponytail and cut my ponytail off. The only problem was was that when the ponytail was cut it was really short (up to my ears) and really uneven so my mum took me to the ONLY hairdresser that was open on a Sunday and told her to fix my hair but the girl at the hairdressers cut all of my hair into a REALLY short pixie. My hair then took 2 years so grow to the same length again and after that I never let my mum touch my hair.

Once when I was in fifth grade I wanted a bob. So I went into the salon and someone calls me over to sit in one of the chairs. She washes my hair and start cutting it and everything was going fine. She finished cutting my hair an it looked great but I wasn’t really able to see it in the mirror because she quickly rushed me to where my dad was. He payed and it isn’t until after I get home and I’m really able to look at it that I notice one side of my hair is an inch shorter thank the other side. For some reason I didn’t tell my dad so we never went back in to fix it so I eventually just grew my hair out until it wasn’t noticeable.

I don't actually have any memories of bad haircuts I've gotten, but my hair is fairly thin and mostly straight. I've only ever gotten my hair cut at places like Great Clips, but they've all been okay. The last time I got it cut, I showed the lady the picture that I thought I wanted, and she made it better than the fuckin picture. My brother on the other hand.... One time the person cutting his hair cut his ear, and managed to give him something close to a bowl cut. Another time, he didnt want his hair cut, but our parents told him he either needed to take care of it or get it cut. As a joke, I offered to cut it for him. Fast forward 15 minutes of him refusing to sit down or stand still, he walked away with a decent hair cut. The next time he needed a haircut, Mom offered to pay me $5 to do it. Once again, he refused to sit down or stand still, but this time he left before I was done. It hadn't even been 7 minutes. It wasn't horrible, but i was enough to convince him to let my mom shave it to fix it. Apparently, she had expected this outcome, and she was mostly just paying me to do was to make it look bad enough for him to let someone fix it. If I happened to make it decent, then it would just be a win-win.

ill never forget, i was like in 4th grade and my mom took me to get a trim. When I was in the 5th grade my stepmother tried a quick way of getting layers on me - you lay down with your head hanging over the edge of a bed or table, put your hair in a loose ponytail, pull the hairtie to the end and then lift the ponytail up - then cut straight across. When I was seven I had bangs and i taught that people who didn’t have bangs just cut theirs off so I went off to my kitchen to go find some scissors (my parents were asleep) but i couldn’t find any so i went into my playroom and found some zig zag scissors in my art drawer. So I went into the bathroom and cut as close to my hairline as possible, then I put the hair that I cut off on top of my blonde barbies head thinking that if my parents couldn’t see the hair they wouldn’t be able to tell that I cut it. So I was just watching some scooby do when my mam walks in and screams “CARA WHY IS THERE HAIR IN THE SINK” to which I respond with “oh the neighbors cat came in and threw up a hair ball!” Then she saw my zig zag bangs and brought me straight to the hairdressers 😂

I made an appointment to get my extensions removed and have my hair colored ( might have done a chemical straiten too). When you have extensions in your hair for 6-8 weeks guess what you get some knots similar to what ella was saying. Its just part of your natural hair shedding and the braids or clips loosening. I don't know if the lady was inexperienced or if when they booked my appointment they didn't allow enough time but her next appointment showed up while she was still taking out my extensions. She had been struggling with one knot right in the center back of my head where two wefts had been anchored close together kinda creating a double knot. But luckily she seemed to get through it right after her next client arrived and I was on to the color. She just put in and let sit so she could cut the other women's hair. She kinda forgot about me and twice the normal time had elapsed before I asked to have the color washed out as my head was burning. But she was distracted with her other client who i felt bad for delaying and the knots had been a challenge she worked hard. Those were the tightest braids I had ever had. So I just tipped her generously 30-35 % on 5-700 dollars, and left to have my extensions put in with my extension lady, tender headed but satisfied. Not until about 15 minutes into my extension appointment did the lady go "uh did you know about this..." and holds up a hand mirror to the back of my head to reveal about a 1 inch by 1.5 inch section of hair dead center in the back of my head that was cut buzzcut short maybe a half an inch long. I shelled out nearly a grand for that and It took YEARS to grow back.

Besides when I was young, I always had long hair. I was careful about the amount that was taken off whenever I went to get it cut. By this point, it was at my tailbone. And when it gets to my tailbone is when chaos ensues. (Basically, my hair gets caught in my seatbelt and it hurts.) So, I asked for four inches off and wanted layers. My sister was on the other side of the salon getting her hair dyed. When my cut finished, she asked what I thought, and I said, "I'd like there to be more layers. I want my hair less flat and more textured." At this point, my sister was waiting for the dye to finish, and her hair stylist faced her chair towards me. So she could see both my face and my stylist's face in the mirror. From what she said, the hairstylist had this sudden, 'how dare you', face, and she watched her snip off my hair a little below my shoulders. Both of us were in high school, I was a non-confrontational type (still am, but better now.) And my sister thought that I had asked for that haircut. I hadn't even realized how much she removed until afterwards. When she showed me, sure, there were more layers, but at least a foot of it was gone. I just said, "Thaannks, it's great!" in the most, I hate this cut, sounding voice ever. When we got in the car, my sister realized that I didn't want that. She planned to go in and get my money back, but I told her to stay. Looking back, I really should have gotten my money back. My sister asked if I was going to cry. I didn't, in the end it was just hair. Honestly, I more than anything had to warn my robotics team because they loved to play with my long hair. And school was just two weeks from starting again. They seemed far more heartbroken than me.
