I've had blue in my hair since my senior year of high school (finishing up my sophomore year of college now) and I think the last time I got it dyed was like... 6 months ago? And it's still a good blue. The trick is to go darker than the color you actually want, do a few color shampoo sessions afterwards, and you're generally good to go based on the color. Each color has a different chemistry, after all. Blue is pretty good about sticking around but red is like "I'll fade but I'll also NEVER COME OUT!"

One time I found a weird looking fluffy dog near my house, I went over for a closer look and to my relief it was really friendly. So I was petting it and that’s when I noticed something, large clumps of hair were falling off the dog. So I grabbed a clump of hair and pulled it off and the dog just exploded in a pile of hair, no body in sight, just hair. I now believe it to be a wandering piece of jaiden’s hair.

I've gotten to the age where my hair's starting to go, so last year I dyed it purple for the first (and probably last) time, mostly just to say I did it while I still could. I actually enjoyed the more permanent silver-gray it stayed for a longer time after the color washed out and the toned bleach blonde stuck around until it grew out completely. I might consider doing that again. I don't think I'm going to put up with staining literally everything my hair touches again, though, that was obnoxious.

I had this thing where when im feeling anxious/stressed I would pluck out some of the hair on top of my head. At first I would just run my hands through my hair and lightly pull it in bunches but it then evolved to me plucking individual strands. On your moms hair piercing your skin, it is very common for hair cutting people to have that happen to them. Hair is surprisingly sharp and lots of stylists and barbers (Not the majority but a statistically significant amount) eventually have a build up of hair beneath skin in their hand that they could go to a doctor for.

He was mostly hypoallergenic and didn't shed much, but "not much" in this case didn't mean "not at all". It felt like I got a splinter, like when you walk barefoot on a wooden porch with a little too much friction, although I hadn't been outside at all that day nor stepped barefoot on any wooden surfaces. But my mom checked it and it was actually one of those long, coarse hairs from our dog. It was pretty easily removed with a pair of tweezers but still, at the time I didn't even know that a single strand of hair was even capable of that. Lol

I've always had a brown almost black hair that grows really fast. When I was little my mom always tried to avoid my wish of having short hair because she thought I would regret it like my big sister did when she was 7 (she wanted short hair, they did it and then she said "now glue it back") of course when I turned 13, my wish came true and of course I haven't regret that moment ever since. I went from a Dora the explorer to a lord farquaad, and now I just have a 2000's short messy hairdo with no bangs and a little decoloration that gave me the nickname of: butter toffee (because my hair turned out having those colours. As someone who habitually goes to bed with wet hair and had it brightly colored for awhile, I quickly learned that it's not a good idea to use any pillowcases that aren't the same color as the hair dye. I would also bring my own pillowcases when I traveled so I wouldn't have to worry about staining any bedding that wasn't mine.

my hair is short-ish and very fluffy and thick. I have had one of my hairs pierce my skin before, and i also shed like a husky in summer. It used to be dyed all kinds of bright colors before one of my pets passed and i wanted a darker color because i was incredibly sad. However, ever since i started dying my hair back in 3rd grade, my hairs can be found....e v e r y w h e r e. Green ones, red ones, purple, blue, blonde, orange, pink. everywhere. When we were moving out of our house recently and all the furniture was gone, we were sweeping up and in my room the broom pan looked like a rainbow covered in dust. If i shake my head it just rains down and i'm still not sure how it works. Personally though, i haven't had too much trouble with dye. It holds surprisingly well in my hair and the reason the dye goes everywhere is because its not supposed to be washed in hot water! if you wash it in cold, the dye holds for WAY longer. I recommend a shower cap and washing your hair separately in the sink or something since it shouldn't be washed as much as the body. The only problem i have is my hair growing out, i have dark almost black brown hair and the roots show up easily haha. My friend has the opposite problem! they dye their hair black and their roots are blonde. My scalp is also really weird because its very oily but also has super bad dandruff. I get it from my dad. Oh my god i wrote so much...sorry haha. also: i dye and cut my hair myself and it isnt a problem since my hair is so dark, any mess is hidden. Its alot cheaper and salons never know how i want it to look. Im also autistic and hate being touched, especially my hair...

I did it all myself so one weekend out of the month I had to cancel all plans and spend two days bleaching roots, dying my hair, then cleaning the inevitable mess it made. About the hair piercing skin, yes. It happens. My mom also at one point had hair thick and sharp enough to pierce skin. It was like getting a splinter if you stepped on one.

Oh god, I have been pierced by my own hair several times, but not in and out like your experience. My hair breaks a lot at the ends, and I've had times where those ends have basically doubled as thorns and gotten into my feet and toes. It's the worst.

about 2 years ago, my wife dyed her entire head of hair blue, and yeah everything Jaiden says about it is absolutely the living hell that was her having colored hair. It stained everything and was insanely expensive to upkeep and it very quickly wasn't worth it after the novelty wore off. She was glad she finally did it cause it was something she had wanted to do her whole life but it's very much "ok cool, let's never do it again" situation

I only have colored hair on the front, so only my bangs are blue. Pro tip, just dont wash you hair at all for three days after you get it done. Only shower from the sholders down. The color will set a lot easier and it'll also last longer. It also solves the problem of getting dye all over everything. It's kinda gross but it works.

Just last week I thought I felt something while walking. It turned from discomfort to pain as if I steps on glass every step. Finally I take a look at my foot what splinter or humongous glass shard was causing this agony. It turned out it was a suuuuuper long hair which is weird, because my hair is like a tenth of the length. Sooo most reasonable explanation is after watching this. Yeah honestly I love dying my hair specifically purple and I have really dark brown hair so I have to bleach my hair just to dye it But in my opinion it totally is worth it if you haven’t dyed your hair you should totally try it out it’s awesome except for a minor quirks then it kind of sucks but other than those small details it’s actually pretty amazing

Ive been dying my hair for...7 ish years and I've only gone to a stylist once so its been cheap to maintain since...i just do it at home, and I've never had a problem with pillows, towels, etc. after like a day when all the extra hair dye is out (it does stain the bathtub but for the most part it will come out...eventually) Definitely not for everyone but as long as you get good brands dying your hair shouldn't be so expensive

i used to have long thick dark hair, then i got and undercut and now only the top is long. it's also dyed, however i got some tips for the people with coloured hair. 1 if you can, do it yourself. most stores have pots of hair dye and it may be less fancy but it wont cost you as much money. if you have dark hair you do need to bleach it, but thats pretty easy in most cases. 2 try to wash it just once or twice a week, the less you was your hair (with shampoo and stuff) the longer the colour stays. 3 if you do wash, try to wash with hair shampoo sepciifcally for colour, it helps last it longer and ive ahd no problems with stained pillows since then. 4 if you've got like really thick haor or are a POC a bursh isnt going to work for haor dyeing or bleaching, put on gloves and massage it all in there, try to get trhough the layers anf you should be good!

Actually the part of being pierced by a hair is happening more often to me nowadays, because now my mom and I take care of a dog that her ex-boyfriend adopted, (it’s because he got evicted from his old house and where he lives now he can’t live with it because the woman who owns the place has cats, so until he finds a new home that allows dogs, we’re taking care of it) The dog’s name is Bonita and she is like a mixture of a Labrador with a Greyhound, she has really thick fur and she sheds, ALOT. And since I like to walk around my house barefoot and I’m really sensitive when a thick hair pierces through the skin of my foot I can feel it, like a little sting. It’s like walking through a floor of mini super bendable sewing needles🪡 . And to be honest, it’s really annoying

I haven't been pierced by my OWN but whenever I trim my dog's fur myself, I get FUR SPLINTERS which are SUPER terrible. When you clip hair on an angle, it gets this SUPER sharp end and it can just get right in your skin. If it's short, it can end up just being a straight-up splinter and just... get right in there where it's SO hard to get out. As for colored hair, I just color over my natural hair and when it fades, it just fades into a natural color with just a slight tint and it still looks good.

We went to the beach and visited some family for the holidays and after a week or so of sun, surf and sand the red had faded into a not so appealing orange.
