My best friend had waist-length hair that was a total disaster. Her parents refused to pay for a hairdresser to fix it. (She was 14.) She got a job, made her own money to get the haircut and... Her parents took her money! In pure protest, she grabbed a pair of school paper scissors and hacked away. Being her friend I did what I could to save her hair, but it was... A disaster. Some of the haircuts here give me flashbacks. She was happy though, the disaster on top of her head was a huge FU to her parents. I was a member of the school photo club and she happily posed for photos. (It was long before cell phones.)

Good for her. My parents were religious zealots that wouldn't allow me to cut or fur my hair. The they loved me out at 17 and that week I went auburn and got a bob. Loved that they hated it and hearing about it ❤

The first image looks like an attempt of bleaching natural hair dye called henna. Most of the hair is red/auburn, which is the tone henna achieves. The ends of the hair are green, because henna was layered with indigo originally intended to achieve black coloured hair. When indigo is lifted with bleach it usually turns the hair green.

The thing about these is that you can tell some of these people think they look so hot like this. I mean I've had many hair mistakes in my life and I still went about my life and rocked them to the best of my ability because I just don't care what other people think of me and I realize that being experimental with my hair means that sometimes I walk around with some cool stuff and sometimes I have to live with something "special" for a while until I can fix it. But these people clearly love what they have and that baffles me.

You are right about people saying "Hair dressers cut too much" because I am lazy so I do not get my hair cut as often as I should & my hair grows really quickly so it's typically really long by the time I go to the salon & when I say "Its probably been ten months since I got my hair cut. Feel free to cut off as much as you need." they cut off a centimeter & it looks exactly the same...... I think they are afraid because so many people freak out. I literally sit on my hair & nearly break my neck trying to check my blind spot in the automobile, they could cut thirty centimeters off & it would be a relief.

I would much rather have your stylist than the opposite. I like to watch a lot of these hair videos and in a lot of the comments people have said that they come in for a cut and ask only X amount be cut off. The stylist will actually say I’m only cutting to “here”, and show the client in the mirror. Then the stylist cuts another four inches off because “they know what they’re doing”. Too many stylists ARE scissor happy. I’m almost 70 and I’ve heard this main complaint since I was a teenager. It’s so infuriating.

I just use color deposit, nothing with ammonia or anything with lift, cuz my hair is dry and frizzy. Dark brown followed with Manic Panic red to give it a burgundy sheen. I makes me sad because I can see how much my hair grows thanks to the dye line and if my hair got longer by the same amount it grows it should be down to my knees, but nope.
