I lost 70% to 80% of my hair all over 2 years ago due to Covid and then Long Covid. I have always had long fine hair but I had a lot of it. It was devastating as I felt so ugly (my hubby was amazing), it has taken me all that time for it to run it's course. It's still very fine and fragile but I got my first hair cut last week after 2 plus years and even managed to get a fringe back. The freedom of not having to wear scarfs to hide it has lifted my spirits. I can't dye it as it is still so fragile so have to embrace the grey or as I like to call it tinsel. I will never take my hair for granted again, I would rather have grey hair than no hair. I do miss my prettier hair.

Since I've been on my long hair journey I can't believe how poorly I used to treat my hair. I used to bleach highlights in my hair like 3 times a year and use heat on my hair everyday. That may not sound too crazy but it was so damaging and I will never do that again. It blows my mind that some of these ladies on KZbin are dying their hair multiple times A MONTH. Having long healthy hair is so much more important to me now than having blonde in my hair. My hair is so healthy now and down to my lower back and I am embracing my ginger color and feel so happy with my hair now😊

That woman is fearless 😂 Anyway, I told her it would take months to wash out, that it would turn more copper than pink with time, that I'm not a professional and she still insinted... But overall it turned out pretty good, I used a comb, backcombed, did streaks, did thin sections.... But again, that woman has balls😅

I have used only Directions for the past 10 years for my pink and blue and they've always been great! They're very pigmented, last as long as you'd expct semi permanent to last(fairly long tbh!) I use it on bleached hair and my niece has just started using the darker colours on her unbleached hair (she is 11) and they often come ot lovely too! Obviously not as vibrant and it fades very quick but it was never going to be a fair comparison with my pourus bleached hair lol. it's also about a 5th of the price of manic panic and has roughly the same amount of ml in a botle, we don't get arctic fox so easily here in the UK

Okay, I’m older but I look at these lovely young ladies and their beautiful hair and want to say DON’T do it! Go to a salon and put your precious hair in the hands of a professional! Edited to add: My college grad photo nightmare… I had waist-long hair and wanted a spiral perm. My sis was doing it and she looked so pretty. So I went to MY salon and the guy used regular perm rollers and said it gives the same effect. My light brown hair wound up completely frizzed and was orange. He didn’t charge me. I went back and he dyed it back brown, chopped it off and gave me a nice layered look. But what a DISASTER!

I have light to medium brown hair and the blonde is about a level 7 or 8. I really want color in my hair and I thought about using Arctic Fox or any direct pigment color in purple or magenta but a darker bright color. Can I apply these direct pigments on my old balayage? My hair is past my just shoulders and the blonde goes up to about my chin maybe to my lips in some places. I just want the bright color on the ends would this work or look stupid? The top of 1/2 of my hair is virgin & it’s been 8 months since I had it bleached. Any input on if this would work I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah nah that girl using La Riché Directions? It's not coming off for months. The ones I use have stayed for 3+ months, fading to still pigmented but less vibrant colours and that's on dark hair too! And I think for her application, perhaps, on way she could have had a more melted ombré effect would have been to apply conditioner or a mask on the parts she did not want that much colour and blended the pink into those sections, taking her time and using sections, which is kind of easy with longer hair? I cut my hair off, and let me tell you that sectioning for doing an ombré was not easy on my bob cut compared to when it was to my waist lol.
