To be honest, you're a handsome guy, your hair still looks great compared to a lot of other people your age. I don't think it's as noticeable to other people as you may think, try not to focus on it too much and remember that even with our flaws, they are part of who we are.

Oral minoxidil 5mg a day made a huge difference to my hair and beard. Give it a full year to see peak benefits. If you’re going to begin on dutasteride then you will be fine. I’m a Norwood 7 patient who has had 15,761 grafts (50% being from the beard). Even at this point genetics never give up and meds are still of benefit. Personally you look like a young, good looking guy with a full head of hair. Goes to show how framing the face correctly makes a world of difference. Thanks for sharing and things will bounce back.

@@sohailahmed5039 unfortunately finasteride and minoxidil are the only two FDA medications approved for MPB. My advice is to see your doctor and try finasteride. The risk of side effects is very low. If you do experience side effects you can always lower the dose and micro dose with the medication or simply cease taking it. The same with minoxidil. Be careful because there is a lot bull shit out there about buying rosemary oil and other rubbish that does nothing for your hair. I wish you all the best.

3:10 Did you get a scalp biopsy done on those areas? You might want to. This could be an autoimmune hair loss condition or some other inflammation. 4:29 This could be sebderm, eczema, psoriasis, folliculitis, or adult tinea capitis (ring worm!) Get a scalp biopsy there and on your sides.

1- Gradually switch to oral dutasteride. Don't drop the topical dutasteride until you have reached steady state systemically (Even though I actually have a hunch that topical dutasteride wasn't helping you much, in fact). You'll get there faster by starting with a much higher daily dosage (you can find a simulator on tressless to help you with your dosing schedule). 2- Make sure to keep stress and inflammation under control 3- Keep up with the ketoconazole cream. Aside from the antifungal effects, its weak antiandrogen properties might be more noticeable when used as a cream rather than a shampoo. Plus, it's much cheaper that way. 4- Make sure your nutrition is on point (enough protein, fats, zinc, copper, iron, vit D,...). For vit D in particular, keep in mind that depending on your genetics and environment, you might be able to tolerate and even NEED to take upwards of 10000 IU, even though the recommended DV for vitamin D is around 800 IU 5- Lower the microneedling depth to 1mm and keep the frequency at a stable 1x/week, even once every 10 days if you must. Too high a microneedling depth/frequency might contribute to inflammation and actually hinder dermal papillae cells turnover; which long-term and at a macro scale might manifest as secondary hair loss

I wish I started DUT before, I was using FIN for two years and was afraid of Dutasteride sides, I have none and have been taking 2x the stardard dose, so 1mg. DUT is just better than FIN period, even the studies show that the side effect profile is the same. I do blood work every year and everything is fine. I'll try some PRP to see if i can regrow some hair, but dutasteride regrows more than finasteride thats for sure

Scalp massages, small amounts of muscle-relaxing cream applied on my scalp while I sleep, and green tea treatments have done more for me than the topical treatments, recently
@kim.young.
@kim.young. Ай бұрын
what kind of muscle relaxing cream are you using?
@matthewmosier8439
@matthewmosier8439 Ай бұрын
@kim.young. Bengay, use what contains the actual relaxer, not just soothing via cool, etc. because the goal is to relax the scalp muscles for hours per night. Results of a few months of doing it are better regrowth than I've seen using any other method, including Keeps. My goal is to eventually reduce the topical Keeps quite a bit and replace it with more natural remedies focusing on caffeine and relaxation of the scalp as well as a diet lower in inflamation-causing food, all of it in conjunction with microneedling
@matthewmosier8439
@matthewmosier8439 Ай бұрын
@@kim.young.Not sure why I'm not seeing my reply, here. Use something with actual relaxation properties, not heat/ cold based effects. It has been very effective in regrowth. I tested it about 2 months, or so. I believe that tension/ inflamation is the primary cause of balding. The microneedling helps, the green tea helps significantly, but the relaxation stuff has shown possibly the biggest improvement
@vzero8612
@vzero8612 Ай бұрын
What's the logic here?
@matthewmosier8439
@matthewmosier8439 Ай бұрын
The theory is that baldness is caused by muscle tension in the scalp which leads to inflamation over time, which itself leads to the build up of a layer of scar tissue (bald heads are shiny because of this layer) I had it on the front two sides of my own scalp before starting treatment. Microneedling (gradually) removes the layer and stimulates regrowth. In one study they found 10% or so regrowth on both men and women simply by relaxing the scalp for the 10 months of the study. I 100% believe this theory from my own experience

Stay away from micro needling. In the short term there could be a slight benefit. But constant trauma to the hair follicles causes injury and eventual death prematurely to the follicle. There are a few companies that do laser treatment for hair removal who have incorporated micro needling just before laser hair removal with astonishing results. Instead of 6 treatments they can now get full hair removal in two treatments. Including light colored hairs that never responded with laser alone. They claim it pre injures the follicle allowing the laser to kill the follicle much quicker. Your hair loss is suspect for micro needling follicle damage. We did a test on two 28 year old identical twins and after two years. One of the twins doing microneedling weekly with minoxidil everyday vs one with no microneedling and just minoxidil dailey. There was significant more balding in the one doing microneedling. He was causing premature damage causing follicle death. Im very certain this is what your experiencing.

There's alot to unpack here. What was the depth and frequency of the microneedling sessions? You said you did a test on two identical twins? Are you a trichologist? A depth of 0.6 (Recommended) shouldn't penetrate the follicle stem cell bulge.
@candyman301
@candyman301 Ай бұрын
@dannyblanchflower1882 . A cosmotologist. .75 depth. Once per week. Identical twin brothers. Live in same house, same diet. Same lifestyle . At the start of the trial, they had identical hair density and hairlines. Just thought you might want to know. Use great caution if you microneedle. Im on oral dutasteride..topical minoxidil. I take a lot of vitamin supplements known to help stimulate hair growth. I limit hair washing. I tried microneedling, which also caused premature follicle damage. Tried pin and stamp and a roller.. .5 to .75 inch. All caused premature damage and thinning on the area used. I've lost 20% of my hair in the last 20 years. Since starting anti androgens . My father and brother are completely bald.. im in my 50's

Just have Finasteride 1mg 3 days a week for 3 months and then taking a 2-week break before repeating this routine again. Also, see if you have macro dosed on Vitamin E or Zinc or Biotin. Your thinning may be because of higher doses. Also if you are using Toppik or dry shampooes then your hair thinning might be caused by them. Any such camouflage material is detrimental and will eventually destroy follicles. Finally, remove oily foods like those consumed as fast food or packaged products, whilst also going low carb. Intermittent fasting will boost your hair growth too. Try that as it could be the diet thinning your hair.

I switched from finesteride to deutasteride over a year ago, after finesteride seemed to stop being be as effective as it used to be. No side effects whatsoever moving to deutasteride. But honestly, I don't know that it is any more effective than finesteride or could be less effective. Still lost a bit of ground since switching and in comparison to 15+ yrs on finesteride which held steady for a long time. At some point we all will succumb and have to accept fate. Some just are able to put it off a bit longer.

hey your comment made me think about my own weight loss... I lost about 3kg before my stomach surgery and 3kg after the surgery, in lbs thats about 13lbs, crazy... And guess what, also during this time I lost hair on my temples, I also think that for some people hair loss is related to weight loss. My current Regiment is washing my hair only with distilled water and sometimes I add magnesium oil to it. No shampoo, and when I use shampoo I only use with natural ingredients And also the distilled Water made my scalp stop itching, Note that my eating habits are and nutrition is the same aß always... If Im able to Change that Im sure I can grow back my hair

It is unfortunate that if you have a genetic predisposition to hair loss, it is likely that you will experience it regardless of any interventions. Hair transplants may only serve to postpone the inevitable. It is disheartening that, in today's world, a definitive cure has yet to be discovered, especially given the significant psychological distress associated with hair loss. I believe that many male suicides can be attributed to this issue. For men, it remains a silent struggle that is rarely discussed.

I am 38 yo male with hair thinning on the sides. I started taking saw palmetto 8 months back and started using ketoconazole shampoo for 1.5 months. Used caffeine oil for 3 months and rosemary oil for 2 months. I've seen reduced hair fall. Also been making efforts to optimize sleep. Hopefully the results stay consistent.
