Today I am so excited to show you inside our new house in Palm Springs! We will head down in the fall, and for now, are putting the finishing touches on the Seattle house to make it a rental while we are gone.

wow it takes so long to settle houses in usa . it used to be like that in australia for many years . until all the titles were digitized now it a 30 day settlement . we don't refer to it as a closure or refer to closing costs . we. just refer to it as settlement . rent back to sellers is not all that common in Australia yet it does happen. . buying a property with non owner renters living in it is a little more common here these days . both houses are so so lovely

Beautiful home. I was in a similar situation. I gave the seller a lease back. We call it a lease back here in the state I live in. The previous owner bought a new construction. So my offer was a cash offer and lease back. It took 14 offers before I finally got a house in 2021. It was crazy back then. Buyers were putting in blind offers in 2021. I will not make an offer on a house unless I take a look at it in person. Was it common in WA for buyers to make a blind offer? Where escalation clause in WA? I won't do one. It's too risky.

1:32 Being from the Midwest and mostly vacationing in FL, GA, AL, SC, and NC, I want to know about these giant windows and walls that open up on the West Coast…Do you all not have mosquitos, moths, beetle bugs, lightning bugs, etc.? How do people on that side of the country always have the open walls and indoor/outdoor spaces without having a million bugs in their homes? I’m so jealous! We had our back door open earlier because we were painting and wanted to get rid of some of the fumes. Now we’re sitting here in the dark, trying to watch TV, and there’s disgusting moths flying towards and sitting on our TV, we see lightning bugs in our ceilings, and I’m pretty sure I just got a mosquito bite while sitting on my couch. I just want to really know if these doors and walls that open up are for looks, or if you all REALLY don’t have issues with bugs.

It was definitely a shock moving from the Seattle area (no mosquitoes, minimal flies) to DC where mosquitoes and other flying critters are EVERYWHERE. It was basically mandatory to get a home with a screened in porch to be able to enjoy the outdoors in the summertime 😩

@@christinekettler1234 Yes! When I travel east coast and south I’m eaten alive by mosquitoes. I’m in So Cal and it’s when we go to certain more rural slightly inland areas that we get bad mosquitoes and things like that but none of those crazy bugs on steroids I hear about in other areas.

Thanks for all the updates! However, I am concerned about the dogs scratching up the floor than renters. Hope it works out for you! I love the new floors though! Yep they have two dogs, while it's beautiful I sincerely doubt this will enure dog scratches well.
