Actually you may not (have a bad side and a good side!). I thought I did too, but after I quit dying, hot styling and got my hair healthy again, I didn't have a bad side anymore and my hair got a lot curlier again all over ("remembered" its true curl pattern from not being so abused). Anyway I know that HR has said in a video she would rather sacrifice some things for others at this stage (she'd rather not give up dying/bleaching/hot tools at this time), which is perfectly understandable, especially if your hair can be maintained well enough to still be manageably healthy! Some hair is "stronger" than others and can take more abuse! Anyway, was just remarking that your hair probably behaves completely differently depending on your "hair choices." 😉

Wow I just now found this channel and I didn't go curly until 58 1/2 yrs old. What a mind blower !! My father was german/Norwegian and had super tight blond curls , his father had white hair (all his life) and basically a fro that went straight up. He and his family went to a Ringling brothers circus and they asked him to be in the "freak show" due to his hair. This would have been around the turn of the century. I am pretty clueless about curly hair but was glad for the info r/t many different curl patterns possible on anyone. My crown is super flat but what I've read says to NOT cut that too short. Root clipping doesn't work for me. I don't know how to get some volume there. Help
@kendakf57524 жыл бұрын
@@mary2270515 Hi, the crown in the curly hair is always a challenge, i've found that is good to put some cream or light oil in an upper section, and brush only this part a little more with a tangletz brush or similar, for get more definition because I have really straight roots in the crown , all this only when I wash my curls and whith damped hair. Also it help to get less frizz. If only want to lift the roots, a rope braid in the same section while sleep, leaving the front parts off it is works. Have curls is a luck, congrats

Awesome finally a video on styling the front of curly hair. I got sick of straightening my hair and killing it so now I just embrace my curls. I have a problem with my hair fluffing and fizzing at the back though. The front of my hairs always been a dilemma to style. I might have to try pinning it to one side under the other hair like you did. That looked easy enough.

I have curly hair and have NEVER known what to do with it. I spent my life stretching it with a hair dryer. Now that my neck is trashed, the hair dryer is out. Most of the tipping to the sides is out as well. I have been using Infusium 23 lately after showering. I do only use a soft t-shirt on my hair. I wrap it up for a couple of minutes and then take it down. I spray in the Infusium while bent over. I twist my hair as one piece and place it all on top of my head and spray more Infusium into the twist. I leave it there and dress, then just let it fall and air dry. I keep a center part and noticed that the top layer all the way around my head was pretty straight. Since not pulling it back while it is wet, the curls are gradually returning to the top layer. I am disabled but still work 3 hrs every single day cleaning bathrooms at 2 local stores...1.5 hrs each. I MUST pull my hair back but now that warmer weather is here I have been using one of those big clips in back. I twist the hair and fold up, then down again and tuck the ends into the middle and clip. Not using scrunchies seems to have released so much tension and has allowed the curl to return. I am afraid to have layers put into my hair as I won't be able to pull it back and keep it out of my face. By the time I get home each morning my hair is soaked almost all the way to the ends ( my hair falls to just below my back bra strap) and my clothes are soaked. Would you still suggest few washes per week? It doesn't seem to feel greasy after it dries. I do have LOTS of little pieces sticking up and out all over. Any help and suggestions are appreciated. SOOOOOO GLAD I FOUND YOUR VIDEOS!!!

Hi Mary, thanks so much for watching! You don't need to get layers and it's fine to wash your hair more often as suits your life / work. I wash my hair more often in summer too. I love a simple routine so keep doing what works for you xx

My hair in the front is so blahhh! It always flop in my face or near my eyes, I'm worried I'll get lazy eye or something. Whenever I lose my curls, I tuck behind my ears or wear a ponytail. I have to twist or scrunch my hair in the front to get definition after I wash it, but the next day, it's gone no matter what - even if I put it up. All those styles look great on you, especially the braid! Seems a bit taxing for me as I don't braid much and better at braiding down, but after seeing this, worth a try! Thanks for this!

Hi girlie, I’m a new subscriber after this video! You’re beautiful & know just what to do with curls very similar to mine! Amazing. I have a question! How do you DRY the front of your curls right? For some reason, the front of my hair always dries weird & my curl sections are very pronounced and almost wet looking way after the rest of my hair is dry and then some! It’s really frustrating bc I have great hair but I have no idea what to do with the front when it’s just down. Please let me know if you have any tips?? I gotta add: I air dry my hair. I use a micro fiber hair wrap when I get out of the shower, and then I apply my products, scrunch a tad, and let dry. But.. should I place my hair behind my back? Or divide it over my shoulders? Tuck my hair behind my ear or don’t? It’s been 24 years and I still can’t figure it out.

I could probably do another video on this! Check out my curly hair routine and you'll see what I do there. I tend to part my hair to the side while my hair is really wet, and twist some sections so that they're sitting where I want them to be. Clipping the roots also helps to add volume and keep your hair where you want it too xx

Loved this video thank you!! So I DO have a question... my hair is thin/fine and curly. Sometimes, I have sections that DO NOT want to really curl so I wind up with hair that just looks like it hasn't been brushed/kept. This is especially the case when I blow dry. Have you ever encountered this and what did you do to solve it? :) Thanks :)
@rj38926 жыл бұрын
sam briggs This happens to my hair too! Like every morning lol! 😰 I usually use a 1.5" curling wand on low heat to bring back the curl and volume. What I do is grab random 1-2" sections from the back- they can be thick sections since I'm not going for perfectly defined curls. Then I wind it up on the curling wand, without flattening it, for about 5 seconds. If it has curled too much I pull down on the section and twirl it around with my fingers to loosen up the curl. It's an extra 5 mins in the morning which sucks but I've gotten pretty fast at it 👍 Oh I just saw that she has a video on how to refresh curly hair without heat- that might help too!!!
@dtcaiz23006 жыл бұрын
I hesitate to curl right now with heat because presently i have VERY badly damaged hair.... I am deep conditioning like crazy and planning on not colouring my hair anymore..... i have treated my curly hair VERY badly and after watching this video and others, i feel like I am more knowledgeable now about what NOT to do LOL. I think I could try a curling wand down the road.... when my hair is much healthier! For now, I am air drying or if I do use a dryer (in winter) I use cool setting. It's.... well my hair is still a mess but I'm working on it LOL.
@rj38926 жыл бұрын
sam briggs I hear you about damaged hair! Ugh mine is so miserable this winter 😭 Have you ever tried doing a few pin-curls? It works best on my super fine hair if I do them on damp hair. They're a little fussy but with practice I got the hang of it and there's no heat👍 also there's some great videos for DIY hair masks on YT too! Avocado and olive oil masks have helped mine a bit!
@dtcaiz23006 жыл бұрын
I've never tried pin-curls. I am going to look into that! Thank you! I got some black castor oil to make my hair grow and thick. Also helps with damage. I'm doing coconut oil treatments 3 times a week to start. I've also got morrocan argon oil to leave in my dry ends and I got a hair mask/deep conditioner that I am now using.It will take time but I am cautiously optimistic that I can fix my mop! haha!! :) This winter has been murder on my hair! UGH!!!

Curly hair just means hair that isn't straight these days. The curls are then separated into groups of waves, curls, and coils. It's not a definition everyone likes, but it's what is used now.
