IMO Hairspray is one of the few Broadway shows where the movie is just way better. The cast (overall, not necessarily each individual) is better. The choreography is 100x better! @alking76552 жыл бұрын
@2013afroman, yeah well, ever since its inception, the character of Edna has generally been a D.R.A.G. role. Not necessarily to shame anyone, for, of course, the character and show are about embracing your differences, but generally because they used it as a roots performance. Theatre was originally a male prominent industry and profession. It's where we get the term "Drag" from, "Dressed as a girl" because men played the female roles. You can still attend performances of Shakespeare and such where they do it in the original format (all-male cast).

I can say this now I prefer the cast from the movie over the cast they are going to use for the Hairspray Live which will be airing on NBC.

I love this heaps better than the live one because they dance so confident and cool and ughhh everything perfectionnnnn!!!
@maxvalladolid85647 жыл бұрын
Roselle Amen maybe because in this version they lip synched the soundtrack and actually got a better chance to dance and re-film it if they messed up and didn't have three months to rehearse.............

@@maxvalladolid8564you are exactly right. In the BTS, they mentioned how they could have a lot more fun with the types of dance moves they added to the movie because they could cut and redo the scene if needed, whereas in Broadway they aren’t able to do that. Definitely made the movie better!

Michelle Pfeiffer never stated that grease 2 was better in fact she acknowledged that it not great, grease 2 wasn’t bad Imo but it was before she was famous and it was work, just stop with the comparison her and John are actually good friends, he requested her for this role
