That final thought is so true. I had a stylist with the sweetest personality, professional, very neat, clean, and comfortable salon BUT when it came to blow drying and combing out she wasn't very mindful of how fragile type 4 hair can be especially when wet. I only went to her twice and after just 2 blowouts the front of my hair had thinned out SIGNIFICANTLY. I blow dry weekly with the Revair and had never experienced this. I can't have someone ripping out my hair no matter how nice they are.

Thanks! Black Hair information for sharing this video. Very informative. I had several hair stylists who very unprofessional. Most of time these African American women hair stylists I went to had bad attitude and didn't have a kind personality. So I left those women hair and never went back. I have gone natural and I do my own hair at home. I save money and I know what's good for my natural hair.

I am the one that brings up the state of my ends unless it is my bi-annual relaxer. I did stop going to a place that served wine and would not let it go when I refused. I do check my current lady when she is too rough when combing, I bring all of my own products but not the tools and sometimes she wants to use a comb or brush I do not like. A good, knowledgeable stylist is worth their weight in gold. I used to travel almost 3 hours each way for mine until she moved overseas. Hmmm it is only a 4-hour flight...

When you ask for your ends clipped you should not end up bald or with a pixie. I have had this happen to me.

I can’t find a reliable, knowledgeable stylists or braider for nothing ! I keep getting all the ones you mentioned in this video, but it’s ok I know how to take care of my own hair and keep it thick and healthy. I won’t accept this unprofessionalism

I Once met the stylist who tried to relaxed my hair and When I said no she took a tiny teeth comb 🤣🤣 try to comb my hair...I was like ooh no no!... That's not the right comb for afro and please do what I say...my money my rules

Only my opinion I don’t really want a woman hairstylist she’s always ratchet but when I get a man hairstyles I don’t have that problem I listen to someone & started getting glue in my hair I saw my hair coming out I quickly stopped getting glue and still trying to get my hair to grow back ☮️❤️🖤💚

Hmm I suppose we are all shaped by our experiences and if you've had better luck with male stylists then it makes sense why you would think that. Do what makes you comfortable.
