My Haitian husband loved this, I had never tried this before and didn't know what to expect. Very tasty and much appreciated. I saw other recipes online that put carrots and other random things in there (I know everyone cooks things differently) but my husband thought this one was perfect.

Best to use chuck roast (as she is using) because grocery store "stew meat" is a combination of various cuts of beef. Chuck roast is idea for slow braising.
