Nice work with date and with imai, who is basically the rookie next generation of ippo using an extremely similar peekaboo style and rival to your next opponent Itagaki manabu. And well, in short with itagaki on the surface, itagaki is an outboxing speedster and one of the newer members of kamogawa boxing gym (the same gyn as ippo) extremely similar to saeki in style and speed although he has far far more stamina then most fighters but in itagaki's recent battles, specifically his fight with saeki, his genius revels itself. Whenever he puts it all on the line and focuses up his speed and counters are unmatched vanishing from sight from even a speedster like saeki giving him the title of SpeedKing and Chronos, a god of time because fighting him feels like time has stopped.

The reason why on the Date fight there wasn't a countdown on the last knock down is because it was the third time you knocked him down in the same round, it's called the "3 down rule"

Yo north! seems like you managed to move ahead in your boxing career by defeating the feather weight champion date eiji and slaughtered your way to imai kyosuke, there are two things im able to tell ya, first, the ability you were wondering if it did something, called "break spirit" it definetly did something! at the begining of the rounds, it shows how your skill negated date's k.o skill "determination" right here 4:30 , some skills can negate others if the description says so and if you pay attention, at the start of the rounds it shows what skills are active for you and for your opponent and what skills have been negated or broken by either some skill you have equipped or by causing critical damage to some areas of the body, like when you reach the rib fracture cutscenes or a pause happens after too much damage had been inflicted on the head or body. As for the last fighter kyosuke, he was a school mate of one of ippo's friends and gym member "Itagaki", kyosuke uses the same style as ippo, being the peekaboo style, kyosuke humiliated itagaki in a school boxing tournament that they were both in years ago, and thus itagaki joined the kamogawa gym to be strong enough to defeat kyosuke in a future rematch as professional boxers in the future, always having bad blood for eachother, and in the sparring session that ippo did with kyosuke, they were both evenly match, calling him the infighter of the new generations
