Today we sat down with Channel Live group member Hakim Green. Hakim Green is a rapper best known as one-half of the hip-hop duo Channel Live, along with Vincent "Tuffy" Morgan. Channel Live gained prominence in the mid-1990s with their politically charged lyrics and affiliation with KRS-One, a pioneering figure in the hip-hop community. Their debut single, "Mad Izm," released in 1994, was a major hit and helped establish them in hip-hop. The duo's debut album, *Station Identification*, released in 1995, was well-received for its socially conscious themes and strong lyrical content. Beyond his work with Channel Live, Hakim Green is also known for his activism and contributions to hip-hop culture.
We also delve into all the many things he has been doing since their last album. Hakim started a concert in New Jersey called "24 Hours of Peace." This is an event that has music artists perform for 24 hours straight hours to promote peace. From old school artists all the way to new school artists have performed there. And we discuss so much more.
