I am a Malaysian Hakka Chinese, third generation in Malaysia about over 200 yrs away from China. My great grandfather came from Thailand to Malaysia and was borned in Thailand. My mother ancestors came from Guangzhou Moi Yen.
I am a 70 year old American who has developed a passion for Chinese regional food. I watch every episode I can see with sub titles. Your insight into each regio and specific location are superbly done. Thank you for helping me learn more about detailed, regional Chinese food

My Grandmother was a Hakka born in China....and moved to Malacca, Malaysia. Seeing this Architecture is to feel where my ancestors used to live. Seeing the food made me almost cry... it was what my Popo used to cook. My cousins in Malacca run Dim Sum shops now. Hakka food is plenty in Malaysia . Thank you for this documentary. :)
