And the Messenger of Allah(S) and Allah has cursed 4 types of people. The taker of riba (interest) The giver of riba The writer of the contract of Riba The witnesses of Riba. But if you repent to Allah and don’t do it again, voluntarily, Indeed Allah is the most Merciful..

Yeah muslims know what riba is, but not all muslims tend agree on whether the "halal" investments and profit rates we have today is actually halal or just reworded interest.

Salam alaykum. Please note that as of writing 02/12/2023, SPUS is rated "doubtful" and not "halal" based on AAOIFI standards. Securities and debt passed the standards, but the aggregate non-halal and doubtful sources from all holdings exceed 5% of the ETF's aggregate revenue. Please also note that Shariah-compliant ETFs have specific purification factors. You have to give away to charity a certain percentage of the dividends to purify it as none of the ETFs are 100% halal, wa Allahu Alam. May Allah grant us guidance. Barak Allahu alaykum.
