HALEY REINHART - CREEP - Reaction *First Listen*

I give my reaction to HALEY REINHART'S cover of the Radiohead song CREEP. This is a performance with the Postmodern Jukebox crew. This is my first time listening to this live performance.
At least once a week, I'll listen to music I've never heard, in addition to my Spotify and KZbin favorites.

According to Scott Bradlee it was the next day. He booked the studio the day after hearing her do it fully in concert the night before because he felt the need to get it on video as soon as possible. She was sick and did it in the 1st take though.

Honestly, I'm curious as to where the idea that she was 'sick' came from. There's an 'about' video by Scott, and there is no mention of Haley being ill, although he does say she was tired from performing so much. While I've seen a lot of comments saying that 'she was sick/ill', I am aware of no actual official source for that. Thus, at least unless such a source comes to light, I file that under "unsubstantiated rumor". If you know of a real source, that is, info coming from Haley, Scott, or a band/crew member, please link it.

I saw them live at Chastain Park before I even knew who or what they were. And I have been to many dozens of concerts. They were amazing! I thought "what can they bring out now that is going to top that,," and they consistently did. Each "episode" was better than the last, and the last was unbelievable! If you have the chance to see them live, do so. You will not regret it. If I have a chance to see them again, then I am there...

Just a copy of a copy based on Haley's copy. Nothing special there since he lost the competition to a 12 year old novice who had hardly ever appeared in public till she won singing four originals. (Grace Vanderwaal). just saying.

@@meggsy82 As a viewer of AGT I watched BJC and he did not appeal to me whatsoever. And you are correct, I am being a bit overcritical. In my defense I can only say appeal is in the ear of the beholder. I certainly do not want to hold up Grace's performances in praise. Considering her experience and performances It just seemed like a low bar to overcome.

@@bertjones3010 Yes, not every voice is pleasing to every ear. Personally, I enjoyed the power in his voice. Also, I was talking about raising up Haley not Grace. It seemed you were putting her performance above his when they each can stand on their own. I love both BJC and Grace. Though she may have been an inexperienced vocalist, her song writing skill at such a young age absolutely captivated me. The fact that she performed originals throughout the entire competition was a game changer. As she has grown, her lyrical content has been very impressive for someone so young.

IC Mr. Orr you're just beginning your reaction road trip. Here you certainly picked one of my favorite artists of the Millennium in Haley. A fan since she got jobbed on AI, she's been fantastic with her solo career and her collaboration with PMJ. She's also a great success story for an independent artist with a voice acting role in Netflix's "F is for Family" and a movie debut with a soon to be released movie (supporting role, not a star turn). So any more reactions to any of her work (and a lot of live performances that can be found on the channel Haley's Tusk) I'll be here. This year I've been caught up 'reaction' videos for a number of artists I've been introduced recently. Probably the hottest commodity with reactors is the incredibly talented multi-octave Dimash - though I'm not a fan, so for me personally it's "meh". But if you're looking to increase your views & subs, it's hard to go wrong with his material. Additionally there are a number of Asian groups and solo artists from Japan, Philippines and S.Korea that are also view generators though, again, not my favorite genre. So here is my short lists of artists who seem to wow the reactors starting with: The young Russian contralto Diana Ankudinova who's unique vocal tone is growing in popularity outside of her country. The Dutch classically trained shield maiden that sings with the symphonic Viking metal band Nightwish (AND again, not my favorite genre but can be put into the context of Pink Floyd) Floor Jansen. I do like her solo work done on the hit Dutch show, Beste Sangers from the 2019 season which shows off her fantastic range and control. One of the most talented singers on the planet. Another PMJ alum who's performed on Broadway and like Haley is an independent artist, the lovey expressive Morgan James always impresses. Granted, not all of these performers are going to end up being liked, but one of the best parts of reaction video's is when the reactor is brutally honest about how they feel about a particular performance. If the importance of views & subs are the ultimate goal of your channel then I don't think you can go too wrong with some of these. Were you aware, that some fan groups do reactions to reactions? For instance, Diana Ankudinova fans put together videos of the reactors reacting to a specific performance. It's all so entertaining. So it will be interesting to see what we'll find next on your schedule. Regards,

I think Haley is one of the best all around vocalist I've ever heard. My only negative for me is I wish she would go back to singing rock and rock/blues. I personally haven't been able to get into her originals because she moves away from hard rock she does with her parents band that I've watched online and also her time on American idol. I've watch a bunch or reaction videos of this cover by her from vocal coaches and some detail has she uses her singing talent with the pronunciation of vowels along with her grit and growl techniques. Even as singing coaches they are all in awe of Haley's talent. If she ever gets back to her younger days and does good old rock, I'll be buying her new stuff. She has videos where she sings on the streets with a bunch of other friends and musicians that are so good and fun to watch from LA. Worth searching for. Let's face it Shane. For pure emotional impact, this song is about as good as it gets. And Haley's version is Fantastic! But for me, the best performance of this wonderful song is by Brian Justin Crum. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJamkmpoaZyDmKM It's his audition on AGT, and it is one of the best things I have ever heard on any talent show. william johnson I've listened to Crumb. He has a great voice WHEN he opens up in "she runs, runs, runs" section. The rest of the time he's doing thon exaggerated near-whispering that all of them do, with a bit of falsetto thrown in. I know it's meant to convey hopelessness and despair but it doesna for me. I want to hear a decent voice actually singing. And I hate falsetto. No doubt you've guessed I hate the song by just about everybody including Radiohead. It's Haley and Postmodern Jukebox who have saved the song for me.
